Shryke Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 aow: shadow magic? i have that tis very strange when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
samm Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Strange? It's just a fantasy turn based strategy game with quite some tactics and some humor in it. Or do you mean the story? Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
Shryke Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 to me it just seems like Civ2 all fantasyfied (if that isn't already a word it damn well should be!) when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
samm Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Never played civ, but I know it's a TBS classic, so you're probably right, they may have borrowed a lot from there and fantasyfied it. Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) Got some new glasses. All the "adults" (parents and optometrist) think it looks great on me, and I'm waiting to see other people's reactions. Personnally, I can't stand them (they're wide and VERY noticeable), but I might get used to them. In any case, I'll get testing tomorrow and THEN I'll choose whether I keep them or not. EDIT: They really make me look nerdy. Edited January 11, 2008 by WILL THE ALMIGHTY "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Walsingham Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Rat infestation triggered again. Having trouble sleeping. I had a dream last night that I was on death row, and as I was taken to the execution chamber I looked around and saw the priest and the guards and the governor... and although I knew the injustice of what they were doing I forgave them. And I thought hang on, this has to be a dream because why would I forgive these idiots. And I thought in fact how easy it was to forgive them. How I coud see inside them and recognise their limitations alongside my own. How easy it was to forgive anybody, and how if I could forgive men who were going to kill me that I should forgive the many lesser things which had been done to me. ...Why the hell can't I have normal nightmares? Don't you love it when you're dreaming and realise you're dreaming and semi-consciously direct the dream, making it meld with real-life in an entirely new way? A lot of my dreams are like that. For example, if I have a crush on a girl, in the dream I might rationalise telling her and when I wake up, the 'rationalisation' is both logical and completely absurd; like a child's logic of the situation.
Pidesco Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I had a dream last night where I was taking a bus ride from the north to the south of Portugal accompanied by my parents, Chris Avellone and J.E. Musopticon? Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hahhhahhah! Poor Soulie. Eh, I'm supposed to write a 2000 word essay about the British Literature 3 course(1700-1890) material for Monday-Tuesday(lol, night-writing), but I haven't been arsed to even look at the subjects yet. Also, I seem to have lost my rent bill somewhere, urgh. I'm glad that uni starts again on Monday, I'm way too loose at home, aimlessly just being. I need some kind of pressure if I want to get anything done. And 8 pages on a subject that only partly(Coleridge, Shelley, some post-Victorian) interests me and various little things I've left to pile up after the start of holiday month do not seem to cut it at all. I really need to get a grip and get writing. I mean, after I've had a couple of pints, hurrr... kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Guest The Architect Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Good thinking, Mus? I like to work after I've had a few drinks. It gets me rambling and about 50% of the time I fluke what I'm going on about correctly.

I think you've got a colony of cranium rats on your hands. That's how they work-- start off using their mild psychic powers to inspire thoughts of mercy in those who threaten them, but once they have the numbers and the collective brain power, it's on to full-on mind control and world domination.

See now, whenever I have a dream, I never think it's a dream. That notion never even crosses my mind. If I ever think "Hey, is this a dream?" Then I know it isn't a dream, and I really did just walk into class without any pants on.
