Aram
I have learned that most Internet-fights don't start by people having radically different views on life and politics, it's more in terms of failure to communicate properly due to cultural differences and difficulties expressing yourself properly as well. No that's just stupid.
Pop
I've learned that the louder and longer you can argue about something, the more people seem to think you're right. I've learned that 99 percent of the time, people prefer to bitch and not act. I've learned that pissed off Iranian kids are just like pissed off American kids in nearly every way. Walsingham
Speaking of the internet as a whole, and not just here, I used to think that me and other athiests had common ground and that I would like them. As it turns out, I have come to dislike most of the athiests I have met, because they were usually always jerks and really annoying. This post has been edited by the vatican yesterday Fixed! Pop
Meh, I dislike a lot of atheists for the same reason I dislike a lot of vegans. They're the Riot Grrls of the 'aughts, stomping around and bloviating like living Mountain Dew commercials. Do you have it in you?! Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality! I thought it might have something to do with ego and some people will just argue to death so they can claim they're 'right'. I find it a waste of time imo. I am certainly of the opinion that a lot of disagreements come down to the premises on which a view is based, more than the internal logic. At least between smart people. Hurlshort
I've learned that no matter how much logic and reason is thrown at them, most people who argue on the internet will stick to their beliefs steadfastily. I've also learned that steadfastily may not be a real word, but it probably should be.
Meshugger
I have learned that most Internet-fights don't start by people having radically different views on life and politics, it's more in terms of failure to communicate properly due to cultural differences and difficulties expressing yourself properly as well. I am certainly of the opinion that a lot of disagreements come down to the premises on which a view is based, more than the internal logic. At least between smart people. I don't know if that's what you mean. Smart people know the underlying logic behind the argument and they can also read between the lines of the other's rhetoric. But are all Obsidian posters that smart? Otherwise every discussion and debate would be pretty civil around, would it not? Hell, i even fail to understand the point of the argument sometimes No that's just stupid. Shut up, poopie-head. theslug
The internet has allowed me to become more desensitized to things involving large amounts of fecal matter, vomit, and of course some sick sadistic mutilation. And humor level has gone to whole 'nother plane of existence. Thank you 4chan. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
