Baley Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I haven't listen to this since I was 12; the boyband hate was so rad (I owned a Backstreet Boys CD, too - the hypocrite!). And he called out, Britney! (Seriously though, Drug Ballad's pretty good, and the man could really flow, and sometimes even approach grown-up humor, and he had this fat weed carrier who was naked on stage and rapped about raping people for no apparent reason - rad).
Blarghagh Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Eels - Jehovah's Witness A less serious, more rockin' Eels. I dig it; it's a favourite of mine when I need easy listening. "Jehovah's Witness, leave me alone. Jehovah's witness, I'm not at home. Keep on a'knockin, and ringin' the bell. Knockin' your way, straight to hell."
Darth Drabek Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Cat Power - This song belongs in a movie, when a down-on-his-luck fella is drinking whiskey by himself at a bar. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Kor Qel Droma Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Blinded (When I See You) - Third Eye Blind Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Blarghagh Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 (edited) I saw that album in a record store once. I considered buying it for a moment, because of the irony in the title. Then I realized, I hate Shatner's voice and I don't really like Ben Folds either. Incubus - Vitamin Ah, a good, funk rockin' Incubus. I miss the old Incubus. Morning View managed to grow on me, but their last two albums just didn't sit with me at all. "I'm born I'm alive I breathe In a moment or two I realize, That this sphere upon which I reside, Is asleep upon its feet. Should I go back to sleep?" Edited April 14, 2007 by TrueNeutral
Lare Kikkeli Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 np: BOaT - Circle Sound "Roro" () You guys are seriously in a rut. Get some new music, even thinking of listening to this much of Afghan Whigs makes my ears bleed.

One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. Draken Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 You guys are seriously in a rut. Get some new music, even thinking of listening to this much of Afghan Whigs makes my ears bleed. The Afghan Whigs rule, heretic. No such thing as too much Afghan Whigs. Plus, it's not a rut if we listen to many other artists as well...the Whigs are just a favorite. Get some new music, even thinking of listening to this much of Afghan Whigs makes my ears bleed. Pardon me if my favorite band reinvigorates my interest in them by recording their first new songs in eight years. Let's see what other music have I bought/downloaded/borrowed in the last few months. If I haven't heard it, it's new to me, right? Lucero - Rebels, Rogues and Sworn Brothers (pissed I missed their show last week) Todd Snider - Peace, Love and Anarchy The Rentals - Seven More Minutes Black Diamond Heavies - Every Damn Time Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band - Put Your Ghost to Rest Charles Mingus - Blues and Roots The new Modest Mouse CD Say Anything... Is a Real Boy Wilco - A.M. Wilco - Sky Blue Sky Son Volt - Trace Ray LaMontagne - 'Til the Sun Turns Black Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - Living With the Living The first Ben Folds Five CD The new Voxtrot CD How the Supersuckers Became the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World The Letter E - No. 5 Long Player Paul Gilbert - Acoustic Samurai Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels on a Gravel Road Johnny Cash - American V Somehow, even with all this new stuff to try, I still end up listening to old Afghan Whigs tunes. Hey, I can't help it if the cream rises to the top, ya know? baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
kalimeeri Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Metallica, S&M. I'd originally given this one a pass, but I listened to it once and it gave me an earbug (you know, where a song keeps running through your head over and over and you can't get rid of it...)
