mkreku
Unfortunately, I can't remember what its name was, but it was so good I don't think I ever bothered to change it after that. Unless I forget something. I just remember getting a lot of different suits later and none of them matching the one I already had. Oh, and I can't check the name either since I deleted all my old save games before applying the patch.. ( I found it by climbing up on the roof of the rail station building, falling down through a hole, running through radioactivity and opening a chest.. if that helps. ) Edit: I looked it up: it was called SSP-99M (Green Spacesuit). Maria Caliban
CrashGirl: "hmmm. What if you define cheat as breaking rules for the purpose of winning?" That's not in my dictionary. However, I'd question what constitutes a rule and what it means to break one. It appears the rules themselves are quite mutable, not only goes the game give me difficulty levels that alter gameplay rule, but the developers release patches that alter them as well. If the rule itself is what's important [Three shot burst to the head with Viper 5 using armor piercing rounds does 35 pts damage] then why does changing my difficulty level mean that I now do 45 pts damage, while the AI opponents do 25? Either: 1) That's not a rule 2) It's a rule that the developer's of the game don't feel like following I'd suggest that it's not the rule itself that matters, but that rules are just the tools game developers use in service of a greater principle. I'd suggest that cheating is not breaking the rule of a game, but neglecting the principles behind those rules. "When is this out. Well, I can't really argue the point since I strongly believe that everyone should play a single-player game how they want to play it. If someone wants to play the whole game through in God mode that's their business. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. If someone wants to play the whole game through in God mode that's their business. As someone who has gone through large portions of various games in God Mode, I'd have to say that doing so is most likely against the principles of play the developers intended. I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was just trying to broaden the definition of cheating so it was based on the spirit of a game instead of the specific rules. "When is this out. @\NightandtheShape/@
To define cheating is rather simple for me, explotation of bugs or console commands that aid the player and decrease the intended difficulty. It's upto the player HOW they play their game, but god mode is cheating. "I'm a programmer at a games company... REET GOOD!" - Me
Slowtrain
Well, my only point is that it is not my buisness how others choose to play their single-player games. SadExchange
Well, I picked this game up after reading a view reviews and reading the conversations going on throughout this post and am having quite a lot of fun with it. Question though, what do I do with the bolts? And how do I get to some of the stashes by the anonmilies?
Slowtrain
Well, I picked this game up after reading a view reviews and reading the conversations going on throughout this post and am having quite a lot of fun with it. Question though, what do I do with the bolts? And how do I get to some of the stashes by the anonmilies? Bolts have 2 uses: 1) Throw them to locate the edges of anomalies so you can slip around them. This usually isn't neccessary, but sometimes it can be the onyl way to get to stashes. 2) Throw them into burner and electro anomalies to discharge them, you can then usually run through while they are discharging without taking damage. Just make sure there isn't a second anomaly right behind the first, otherwise you'll run thriough the first and then get blasted in the one right behind it. Which has happened to me mre than a few times! heh The answer to your second questyion is: Use the bolts! natch. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. Cantousent
Only, it was in a safe and there were two of the damned things when I went through. They sold for a lot. I don't know if it's a lot, but I've got some 60k right now. There's nothing really for me to buy, but since I'm only now getting into the juicy areas, that might change. Alls I can say is that everything got much easier when I figured out how to use the map, unload weapons, throw grenades, and (many thanks Crashgirl) toss bolts into electric fields. Pop
I found that suit too. It was kickass back before the game got patched and armor became destructible I just pushed a crate over to an unboarded window and jumped through, and I had a few anti-rad pro-bleed artifacts, so I got through to the suit unscathed. mkreku
Did anyone beat the arena? I totally forgot about it in my first run through the game so I tried it today instead. It's a bit tougher than I thought it would be, but I've made some progress and I am now pitted alone against two Spetznaz guys! They've killed me once before I got tired of the game and turned it off.. So far only monetary rewards, something I don't really need as I already have 160,000+ rubels.
