I think there is a different style of story in play between the two games. KOTOR was in a black and white nature with a pretty straight to the point storyline with very few twists. A lot like the films. KOTOR II was darker, subtle, complicated and rounded with plot twists and depth, a lot like some of the good EU (IMO)

Well, just an example. Batono's quest in TSL was relatively direct. When you try to escort him as a PC, his exhibited character is almost like a naive way of responding to the Exile. They could have added some hesitation in Batono rather than simply allowing him to conveniently believe that Exile was a Jedi, like say requiring some show/token that was indeed Jedi-related. Rescue plot for Batono could have been extended much further.

KOTOR II was alright, story line was way better, never would have guessed that ending, but I really, really hate the glitches and un-finished quests...

Am thinking same too. Especially with Malachor's story and character dialogue. K1 was not exactly a surprise, considering that elements of story would be drawn from previous games that Bioware released.

I think we all can agree that Kotor 2 is much better do to it having such a darker storyline. Kotor 1 had a storyline which was so mushy and had no true darkness to it. When Kotor 3 comes out (because it is being made) I hope it has the same darkness in it as Kotor 2 and does not revert back to its mushy Kotor 1 ways.

I respectively disagree. Actually, I just out-right disagree. I think 'KotOR I' had a tremendously beter storyline. Everything in 'KotOR I' felt like Star Wars, and pulled together on an epic scale. 'KotOR II' had good potential, but never brought things to any climatic reveltaion. I like 'KotOR II'. However, if I have to choose which one was better, I would have to drive home an argument for 'KotOR I'.

'KotOR II''s storyarch was pretty sloppy at best.

I think KOTOR 1 is a better game as far as the thing makes sense! It has a realy good story telling that makes you ---- in your pants the first time you face Malik. (w00t) You get so pumped by the end, killing your frends, seeing the starforge and then raiding it.

Then you have K2, you quickly feel like you have all this freedom to build yourself up. You may not realize how restricted you were in K1. Suddenly you feel like a god! but then you get all confused about what the ---- in going on, you end up just playing thru and thinking you may be able to understand it better the secound time thru. Then the secound time comes and the understanding does not...

I saw a news release by Lucas Arts that said that they are NOT working on KOTOR 3... YET. It said that they are doing cutting backs on the number of stuff going on and lining it up so they work on only a few tiltes at a time, I think they said latter thet they would release 2 games per year, and that they will pickup new projects as ones complete. And to be honest, why work on K3 when K2 is still not completed by that restoration project.

I think KotOR I was better, because it was finished.

Although I also think that KotOR II could have been significantly

better than KotOR I, had it been finished.

With me, it depends on what day it is.

K1: I like the Han Solo-like ball-breaking that Revan pulls on Bastilla. I loved infiltrating the Sith Academy as a student. I dig Jolee. I liked cutting up Sand People. I really enjoyed the Star Forge. And the story line answered all of my questions and the ending was definitive and left me wanting more. PS: I have never felt so completely thrilled as I did when I played for the first time and figured out that I was Revan. I was beside myself.

I can do without all of the court nonsense on Manaan. I can do without not being able to transport in Kashyyk(Wookieworld....I should know how to spell that by now). I hated having to shoot the Sith starships down over-and-over-and-over-and-over.....you get the picture. Walking under water at that pathetic speed is just unbearable!!!! I can't stand that I can only power up to level 20. I hate the stupid looking Jedi/Sith robes. I despise Juhani. I want to kill Carth.

(I'm leaving out other stuff pro and con but this is looking long enough already)

K2: I like converting my peeps. I like breaking down things and building upgrades. I loved Nar Shaada. The pazaak is cooler. You are much more powerful. The force powers are improved. The lightsaber action is improved. There are more quality items. More things are upgradeable. The Dxun/Onderon sequence was cool. Your companions look darkside as they follow you down that path---very cool. The chicks are hot.

My companions may look dark side, but they're still talking light side as they disaprove of my ruthless methods. Koribban sucks. Dantooine sucks. Malachor sucks when you are outside the Trayus Academy. Why do I have to waste my time with the stupid remote?! You have to wait too long to get a lightsaber. There is not even a semi-cool looking male to use as your character. The final battles with Nilhlus & Kreia were extremely disappointing.

If you put the advanced stuff into the 1st, it's better hands down. But, as it stands now, the better one is the one that hits my mood at that particular moment.

I really liked the story of the first game more. The darker theme of the second one was cool and all, but just having a darker story doesn't really make it better to me. I also like the enviroments of the first game better. The level design were just great. The second game was good and all, but I just loved the first games levels more.
