Dark_Raven Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Profit of dooooooom! Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Setzer Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Isn't profit something Microsoft hasn't made with the Xbox or 360? By the way, I AM THE real Profit!
Dark_Raven Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Nah. MS might as well give up consoles and do what they do best, computer technology. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Llyranor Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 You should email your awesome suggestions to them. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Pidesco Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I don't get it. If the Xbox 360 has this awesome hardware, why wasn't the console released with software fully supporting its capabilities? Furthermore, they probably will have to release new devkits so that developers can actually use the snazzy hardware features. And, of course, this means the devs will need more time to learn how to properly use the new devkits, thus delaying countless games. So, what was MS waiting for? "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Darque Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 So, what was MS waiting for? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Drama.
Bokishi Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 You ppl are wrong, I'm the profit, I'm the holy one, ask me anything about DX10! Current 3DMark
Darque Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 You ppl are wrong, I'm the profit, I'm the holy one, ask me anything about DX10! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can it make a pizza?
Bokishi Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yes! Open your DVD Drive and the Pizza comes out. Current 3DMark
Gorth Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yes! Open your DVD Drive and the Pizza comes out. Wasn't it olnly the old xboxes who had problems with running that hot ? Still, an upgradeable xbox sounds to me like a cheap (albeit powerful for the price) pc “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Darque Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yes! Open your DVD Drive and the Pizza comes out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sold! (w00t)
Dark_Raven Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 There is no DX10. There never was nor ever will be a DX10. Its a figment of the imagination. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Llyranor Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Wow, that was constructive. So is this. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Bokishi Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yes! Open your DVD Drive and the Pizza comes out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't it olnly the old xboxes who had problems with running that hot ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dude, the 360 I bought in June runs so hot that it can cook a damn turkey. Thank jesus for Intercooler! Current 3DMark
Haitoku Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Does Epiphany work for M$ or something? It seems like his only purposes is to praise the Xbox and talk smack about Sony.
Llyranor Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 In a forum section where the majority probably doesn't even give a crap about any of the consoles, he's being quite successful. I know I ran out to buy a 360 after reading this thread. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Calax Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 annnnnnd BOOM! Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Hurlshort Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I own a 360, and I'm not all that impressed by this. I also think those screenshots are heavily doctored. Is that Jesus coming out of the clouds? He's the one true profit. I may go to hell for that one.
Judge Hades Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I think it would be stupid of Microsoft to release the console and devkits if the games being made weren't being made using its full hardware capabilities. This is just another marketing ploy if not an outright lie. If indeed ATI had created hardware that can make use of Direct X 10 they would have made it in a video card to up against Nvidia so they can get the drop on them when Vista is released. Sorry, Epiphany, but I do not believe you nor the article you linked to. It makes no sense and has no credibility. YOU LOSE.
alanschu Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Why didn't Microsoft just have this enabled upon release?
Judge Hades Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Exactly. This is just some stunt they are pulling due tot he fact that the Wii and the PS3 is going to be released soon. Just more marketing spin and bull.
kirottu Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Why didn't Microsoft just have this enabled upon release? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They thought console market should wait for vista? This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
LostStraw Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 The Xbox 360 is not fully DX10 compliant and wont support all the features, but it does support some, and it also supports a few that wont be in DX10 (the first release anyway). What does the soundbite from the speech mean? I have no idea -- maybe MS is just now finishing up the API that will let developers make full use of the Xenos' features.
Epiphany Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 Why didn't Microsoft just have this enabled upon release? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cause WGF2.0 tools weren't finalized yet?
alanschu Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Why didn't Microsoft just have this enabled upon release? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cause WGF2.0 tools weren't finalized yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How come no new games coming out seem to be taking advantage though? Surely if the hardware is already designed, they would have an idea on what the API is going to do to help lessen the downtime. According to this, Xenos isn't even built to WGF2.0 spec though, and a big advantage it has is that "the API can be tailored to expose all of the features of the chip." This is where Xenos has an issue in that its features and capabilities are clearly beyond the current Shader Model 3.0 DirectX9 specification while it lacks features that are expected to be a requirement for WGF2.0
