1st Vid card I ever owned was a 24 MB card (can't remember the make/model), on an old 75 MHz computer. I thought I was the cat's proverbial night wear.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

Omitting anything too old or obscure...

GeForce 440 MX SE (I was a poor student).

Sapphire ATi Radeon 9800 Pro & Leadtek GeForce 5700 FX ULTRA

Leadtek GeForce 6800 GT

eVGA GeForce 7800 GT

The 9800 Pro was the last ATi card I'll buy until I find sufficient proof that ATi has improved their driver support.

Really? I found that my 9500 Pro was the greatest value I've ever had in a video card. $150 bucks for awesome performance. I even found that Kotor1 Looked better for example the light reflection off ships looked amazing at that time, I then got my 6800GT and I didn't see it anymore.

Not to say that the 6800GT doesn't have great value either. I'm finding it was an essential buy too for it has to last me another year which will be perfect!

I've had so many cards over the years, I won't even try to catalogue all of them.

I've had rage, early geforces, and intel, but most recently I delved into the Radeon 9600, the Radeon 9800 pro, and I recently purchased the GeForce 7900GTX.

I'm a big ATi fan, but I'll try the Nvidia until the DX10 cards hit the shelves. Then I'll decide between the two.

Creative Geforce MX 32MB - that was way back when those were actually good

Creative Geforce 4200Ti 64MB

Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB - Wasn't the greatest purchase i've ever made. In addition to being almost a nonupgrade compared to the awesome GeForce 4200Ti it also overheated after 15 minutes of gaming cause it had passive cooling. I took it back, paid some extra, and got myself my current gaming card

Club3D ATI RADEON x800 PRO 256MB - not exactly high end these days but hey it has served me well for almost two years :p

Geforce 4600Ti 128 MB

Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB

Geforce 7800 GS 258 MB

I also own a 3DFx Voodoo 5500 64 MB for nostalgic reasons.

The best card I've had was the 9800 Pro. It was only a few months ago that I upgraded to thew 7800 GS and I've never had as many problems with a video card as I've had with this one. Showing movies is a nightmare, graphical glitches in new games (Tombraider: Legend being the worst!) and the GPU fan sounds like a vacuum cleaner when it reaches top speed. Not to mention that I can't seem to get over the blurry picture (compared to the 9800 Pro). Don't get me wrong, I love the performance of it, but I will probably switch back to ATI in a few months.

GeForce 4 MX440 64MB - This was an awesome little card despite the MX label. Worth much, much more than what I paid for it.

ATi Radeon 9600XT 128MB - Using it right now, a really great card but it's showing it's age.

Your problems sound odd. You have the newest Nvidia drivers right? Blurry picture in games or desktop?

Ah, I remember the Riva TNT. Fond memories. It's just so sad that new cards cost so much money. It's a real bank breaker.
