Baley
Woman Undergoes Tests At Beijing Hospital BEIJING -- A young Chinese woman is undergoing medical tests in Beijing after dining on dirt for 11 years. The 18-year-old from Inner Mongolia was taken to Beijing by her parents, who wanted to know why she finds dirt appetizing. She told Chinese television she started the habit when she was just 7 years old when she consumed dirt that was attached to the roots of grass. Yellow mud is her favorite. Her eating habits have caused problems for the family's next-door neighbor, who has a mud roof. Chinese television reported that the woman can't help herself and keeps eating the roof. julianw
I read about some woman in China who ate rocks to help her digest the food (or is it that she just like the taste?). So I tell you: Chinese women are going to devour the earth before global warming!
Archmonarch
Id have to hear more details to be sure, but it sounds similar to Pica, a developmental disorder in which a person craves and consumes non-nutritive substances. thepixiesrock
Atkins is the thing of the past. We are in the akward trasition period where we have no new diet fad. Gorth
Well, how do you know that?Just eat eath, someone can eat glass. Isn't both earth and glass silicate based ? Not much of a difference then. It's all a matter of taste, with or without the carbon based, organic add-ons to the food “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Moose
Ignoring the sarcasm in your statement, soil isn't necessarily silicate based. There are none that are right, only strong of opinion. There are none that are wrong, only ignorant of facts
