astr0creep Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Another game I reviewed once is called Star Wolves. It's a RPG/space-sim hybrid, although not a very good one (in my opinion). Reviews have been varying though. Other than those, I don't know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been looking for Star Wolves for a long time. I found the Demo very interesting although very flawed and buggy and I was hoping the finished product would be better. From its description on various game sites it was a very appealing game to me. Meh. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
karka Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) Also it uses Starforce which makes it a "bad game" by default. Edited April 18, 2006 by karka
Hurlshort Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You're implying I didn't already know this <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Darque, if you read the original topic, you'd notice the person was clearly looking for a space sim. You threw out some strategy suggestions. That doesn't really make any sense. They are incredibly different genres. It's like if my wife told me to pick out a comedy at the movie store and I come back with a war movie... Actually, I do that all the time. Eh, carry on then.
Darque Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I don't care what the thread is supposed to be about (w00t) The word "space" is in the title, and thus I chose to make a comment about a space game here. Quit trying to win the internet
Musopticon? Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Ouch. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
alanschu Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You cannot win at the internet, because I already did.
Llyranor Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Dorkface is only half-right, because I'm the one who won it. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Baley Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 So, now that we've established that detail, who lost the internet?
hawk Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 What kind of bothers me is that LA as far as I know never bothered to make a Freelancer / Privateer / X style game in the SW universe. Fly to all your favourite planets. Buy tons of Water on Manaan and sell it on Tatooine. Become a bounty hunter, side with the Republic / Rebel Alliance or side with the Sith / Empire. Fly different space ships depending on who's side you are. Visit your favourite planets. But I doubt it is ever going to happen. Master Vandar lives!
alanschu Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I was kind of surprised too. Everyone wants their own YT-1300 to cruise around (and mod the heck out of).
kirottu Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 There This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Diogo Ribeiro Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 It's like if my wife told me to pick out a comedy at the movie store and I come back with a war movie... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Carnage can be fun.

Judge Hades Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 So, now that we've established that detail, who lost the internet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Al Gore. He invented it, you know.
Dark_Raven Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 What are some good space sims out there? Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Llyranor Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Ah, sweet memories. The game that got me into online gaming. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Dark_Raven Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I always wanted to play a gmae where I could have a dog fight in space. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Darque Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 What are some good space sims out there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only game that comes close to a space sim (I guess) that I've played is Earth and Beyond. Sadly it was a MMO though. A MMO killed by EA. On the upside it showed me that MMO's aren't really my thing.
Gromnir Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 last good space sim we played? tie fighter series? crimson skies were fun, but not quite fulfilling. we puts it in the space sim category 'cause gravity ain't really much of a factor in crimson skies. HA! Good Fun! jaguars4ever Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I always wanted to play a gmae where I could have a dog fight in space. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Fine by me! Alright then - on the count of three..."
Bokishi Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I enjoyed X-Wing: Alliance <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too. Current 3DMark
