What happened to all the good space sims??

Recommended Posts

That's because star trek sucks.  (w00t)

No, the games suck, not the franchise.

The only Star Trek game that looked even remotely appealing to me was cancelled. :-

It was a Borg RTS game.

Now that would have been a cool game.

I agree :o

Armada 2 lets you play as the borg.

And I played the game that meta mentioned on my parents 2.86

Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

I know you're just being silly, but when you post the same joke multiple times I am erring on the side of caution. But I'm sure you know that a 286 is completely incapable of running Oblivion, even hideously slowly.

Was it a space sim? Cuz this thread is derailing.

Oh yeah and I'm sorry for bringing up Star Trek. :">

It's just that Larry Holland, who designed Bridge Commander, was also behind X-Wing and Tie Fighter. And BC is not a bad game at all and neither is Elite Force.

It would not be able to load it on the hard drive since the hard drive would be too small. The old 286 motherboards had a hard drive size restriction.

That would be much easier to work around than the processor.

Well LucasArts ended their superb X-wing series

and EA closed Orgin.

What a slaughter.

But anyways, anyone who have tried the Darkstar one demo?

I found it very promising.

A new X-Wing game made today would probably be amazing. Imagine the ****pits =]
