April 17, 200619 yr I'm tired of playing Freespace 2 over and over again Plus, EVE Online's graphics show that, if anything, a good spacesim is pretty badly needed. Anyone concur?
April 17, 200619 yr Definitely. I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
April 17, 200619 yr Positively. "Great intelligence usually goes hand in hand with great stupdity." Join The Sibilati! -Sibilati retrorsum sibilamus
April 17, 200619 yr Well there's Freelancer, and if you're sick of that, you can also wait for Ascaron's Darkstar One (some kind of Freelancer successor...supposed to be an RPG/space shooter hybrid), which shows a lot of potential to rock, but also lots of potential to fail miserably. I guess that's about it. Rain makes everything better.
April 17, 200619 yr For sure! But Freespace (1&2) still rocks ... getting time to play them again. I was waiting for the Wing Commander Saga mod to be finished, but haven't found anything recent on it.
April 17, 200619 yr You should look into the X-simulators (X: Gold, X2: The Threat and most recently X3: Reunion) for some newer space simulation goodness. Another game I reviewed once is called Star Wolves. It's a RPG/space-sim hybrid, although not a very good one (in my opinion). Reviews have been varying though. Other than those, I don't know. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
April 17, 200619 yr I heard that X3 was actually awesome with the patches. That's probably your best new generation shot.
April 17, 200619 yr A space sim and a space strategy game are extremely different. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And?
April 17, 200619 yr Moo? “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
April 18, 200619 yr Moo? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course that was my first impression, but I still had to ask. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
April 18, 200619 yr Have you played the X games? They have gotten some great reviews. We now bring you live footage from the World Championship Staring Final.
