Meshugger Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Hey, one can only alk about the Infinity Engine games for so long. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because most of them were long? Darque Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 The only real problem with the IE games is the fact there aren't enough of them. <_<
Diamond Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 The only real problem with the IE games is the fact there aren't enough of them. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The issue won't be fixed anytime soon (actually never), but it is better to have few good games than a lot of crap games, right?

Dark_Raven Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Hey, one can only alk about the Infinity Engine games for so long. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sing it's praises Hades! It was one of the best series ever made, right next to the Fallout games. Like Darque said, a shame that there were too few of them. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Dark_Raven Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Baldur's Gate using the Aurora game engine? Interesting, but they would have to make the "henchmen" into great npcs like in Baldur's Gate 2. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Nick_i_am Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) Eh, i can't recall MCA being involved with the story in NWN2? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's writing the henchies. Am I the only one who didn't acutually like the infinity engine? Sure, it did it's job, and i'm not disputing the quality of the games that came from it, but as far as I could see, it was pretty crude, fairly inflexable and somtimes niggly. Very stable though. I didn't actually play any of the IE games till after the release of IWD2 (i.e. when it was already 'dead') so it might just have been its age showing. Correct me if i'm wrong. mkreku Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) Am I the only one who didn't acutually like the infinity engine? No, I think it sucks too. Mainly because of the horrid AI (pathfinding) and the tiny maps. Edit: Clarified something. Edited February 3, 2006 by mkreku Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
alanschu Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 "You must Gather your Party before venturing forth." Though it was very dumb that Torment let you warp your whole party around.

But back when BG was released in 1998 (I think?) it had some pretty awesome graphics. Even IWD and BG2, which were around 2000 it looked pretty darn good. 2005? nah it doesn't look so good anymore. Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Volourn Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) "Of course he 1 henchmen limit would definitely put a damper on things." What 1 henchmen limit? There is NO limit. At all. Zero. Nadda. Zilch. P.S. The Infinity was/is awesome; but it's dead,d ead, dead. LONG LIVE AURORA! Edited February 3, 2006 by Volourn DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
WinterSun Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Isn't the game balanced for a PC and 1 henchman? Extra henchmen could make the game even more of a piece of piss than it is. Could be different for mods I suppose... master of my domain Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.
Volourn Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 "Isn't the game balanced for a PC and 1 henchman?" The OC was. SOu was too. hOTU was balanced with 2 henchmen in mind. If someone were going to remake BG2 they'd likely balance it with PC +5 others in mind to remina accurate with the original game. Some people pretend to know games but they don't apparantly. Volourn Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) "Die." You are worse than the whiny ones wishing death on Europe over comics. You wish me dead over preferring one engine over another. Isn't wishing death on another poster grounds for a banning or at least a warning? R00fles! Darque Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 "You must Gather your Party before venturing forth." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I despise that phrase now Worst development idea ever! Once was enough! Audio spam is evil!
Darque Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I'd only use that .wav if I wanted to torture someone It's like the audio version of chinese water torture
Gabrielle Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I thought of making that an npc's battle cry in a joke mod I thought of.
