LadyCrimson Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Giggle inducing article, Mr. Grinch or not. Also made me want to download Fate, cause I'm an action-RPG ho'....at least when the mood strikes me. Then again, waiting for 130MB even on broadband...maybe I'll go to CostCo instead. “Things are as they are. Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Its RPGCodex. Crap is what they deal out everyday of their existence. They are just a bunch of Tim Cain fanbois as well. Troika's rep for buggy and subpar games was well freaking earned with ToEE. Add to the crappy game balance of Arcanum its no wonder that Bloodlines sold like poorly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Y halo thar i likes to say teh stuff about the Codex that's been proven to be wrong in the past but whenever someone points out i curl into a ball, suck my thumb and tell that everyone at their site mailed me male porn pics so I win lollercaust"
Kaftan Barlast Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Yep, they are as funny as a kick in the crotch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> something about gayporn in your email was it? Nick_i_am Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 What are you guys talking about, I kick people in the crotch for fun. Also, isn't the Codex basically the Obsidian forums with an unhealthy obsession with Fallout, more flaming and an average IQ 20 points lower? (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

Gabrielle Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I think the author just needs a hug. He does have a lot of valid points, in the way any biased piece will generally have half the relevant points but be missing the other half. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the author needs to get laid.
Gabrielle Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I would have thought Gabs would like the horribly anti console slant of that article. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did enjoy that. I was too tired to comment further on it.
Blank Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 The article was overtly opinionated. However, the author did warn that it would be that way. so i am not surprised that I have differing opinions about some of the games he mentioned (although, morrowind does suck as much as he says). I personally thought Kotor1 was original, since i had never seen a star wars rpg before, and it catered to my cinematic role-playing needs. Spazmo really didn't think so though (it sounds like he hates cRPG's), and he is obviously very picky about his games. The article went beyond whining, it was cheerfully kicking people in the groin. So while he did have some valid points, they were usually overshadowed by his unappeasable bias for current rpg's.
Judge Hades Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 General view of RPGCodex: If its not made by Tim Cain, its crap.
Kaftan Barlast Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Whats Tim Cain doing these days? Judge Hades Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Working at Interplay with Herve Caen to make Fallout Online (j/k).
Gabrielle Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Whats Tim Cain doing these days? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Watching Fallout 3 being made and he has nothing to do with it.
Darth_Schmarth Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Fallout 3 Team Arena Expansion, you mean? ^Asinus asinorum in saecula saeculorum
Judge Hades Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I won't say the guy doesn't have good ideas where it comes to games, just bad executable files.
Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Of course you would have some flamatory response to my post. Where are the flames? All I did was to sum up all the posts you make about the Codex. If it makes you feel better, you don't have to admit something we've seen you do dozens of times. Always coming up with the same kneejerk, angsty posts against the same targets is the reason why you're (in)famous. I am sure another one will be coming for this one that will no doubt involving belittling me once again with you thinking it be a witty retort, right Role Player. Anyone pointing out you're just being an attention seeking troll is a witty retort, even if obviously you wouldn't agree. So go ahead and valiantly defend your fellow RPGCodexers. Aren't you tired of asking the same question on and on? In case the last years answering that straw man of yours weren't enough, here's a recap: just because I visit the site and post on the forum doesn't mean I have some sense of loyalty to them, nor does it mean I feel like I should defend them against people whose clear intention is to troll. If I did felt compelled to do so, it wouldn't be to try and change the mind of someone who's made it up a long time ago. It won't change my opinion of the site but it might make you feel better about yourself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whatever it is I do to make me feel better about myself sure as hell doesn't involve you.
LadyCrimson Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I downloaded Fate and I have to say...it's fun. Doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is, a mindless yet obsessive hack n slash dungeon game....my new fix for this game genre. So, thanks for that article link, cause I found my new brainless game. And only $20. :D My weekend is all set. “Things are as they are. Judge Hades Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Hey, I am just adding my support to a follow poster in agreeing what he or she is saying. Is there something wrong with that?
Lyric Suite Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 The guy obviously has issues, but sadly i find myself agreeing with the points he makes more then i'd like to...
Haitoku Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I like this guy. Though I hated hearing him say KOTOR II was simply terrible, he really got it right when he pointed out why it didn't fit in with the hole Star Wars thing. I especially liked his BioWare section.
