Guest Darth Banooby7 Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Sooooo do you think Obsidian is trying to throw us off the trail, (w00t) or do you believe them? *waiting*
Meshugger Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I do believe that Obsidan can deliver when it comes to creating good stories. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
sstep Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 did they actually say that?i only recall them saying that the pc wouldnt be having amnesia,or anything like that.

Lord Satasn Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I foresee that Obsidian will far surpass the expectations of the gamers....KOTOR 2 will have a much better storyline than KOTOR mainly because it's darker, and they are focusing on character development...so it wont feel rushed....when u think about how long Taris actually played into the length of the first game, and the jedi training, imagine how much more character developement they'll add to the story and game legnth without that....all u have to do this time is find a lightsaber....b4 u had to find how to find bastilla, then get her, then escape the planet, then go do a billion things for jedi training....I foresee a great many things.....
jaguars4ever Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I do believe that Obsidan can deliver when it comes to creating good stories. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And what frame of reference are you using to deduce that? I foresee that Obsidian will far surpass the expectations of the gamers....KOTOR 2 will have a much better storyline than KOTOR mainly because it's darker, and they are focusing on character development...so it wont feel rushed....when u think about how long Taris actually played into the length of the first game, and the jedi training, imagine how much more character developement they'll add to the story and game legnth without that....all u have to do this time is find a lightsaber....b4 u had to find how to find bastilla, then get her, then escape the planet, then go do a billion things for jedi training....I foresee a great many things..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Those things don't detract from the story; they constitute the story.
Jedi Master D Murda Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I'm sure I read in an IGN interview that LA told OE not to mess with the character's mind, among other things. I don't think there will be a plot twist unless it involves the identity of the MSG. Anyways I don't think the story needs a plot twist to be a good story.
Pesmerga Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I hate you and your polls! Nah, just kidding. I do HOPE that they're trying to thow us off the trail, as a good plot twist can really spice things up.
Jade Shadow Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I don't think they said anything about no plot twists. They just said there will be no anemsia or crazy mind games. No messing with the player's head. That doesn't necessarily mean there won't be any twists.
Craigboy2 Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Sooooo do you think Obsidian is trying to throw us off the trail, (w00t) or do you believe them? *waiting* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No! They're trying to throw us off the trail because we're too damn good! "Your total disregard for the law and human decency both disgusts me and touches my heart. Bless you, sir." "Soilent Green is people. This guy's just a homeless heroin junkie who got in a internet caf
Jedi Master D Murda Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Akari seems to be sniffin' around this post. "

KOTORFanactic Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I honestly dont know. For a story to be good, it needs at least one plot twist in my opinion. So we may get a minor one, but if we do get any major plot twist, I will be quite suprised.
Hallowed_be_thy_name Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 i don't care. Plot twist or no Plot twist, i'm sure it will be a good game.
Nindalf Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Plot twists aren't all bad.. really they can be fun.. But, I mean if they pull the same trick as they did in the original kotor.. well that wouldn't be fun. simple as that
Hallowed_be_thy_name Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 ditto means same. (It saves time)
Jad'en Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 There wont be a revelation. But every story i have ever read there has always been a plot twist, as will this.
Guest Fallen Jedi Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 what does ditto mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought we explained this to you already It means that you agree with the poster before you.
GhostofAnakin Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I don't think they've stated there will be NO plot twists. I think they just stated that it wouldn't be a "you are Revan!" type deal. It'd be more minor like one of your NPC party members is a spy, or Revan's behind the Sith Lords invasion. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
darth_habbo Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I still belive in my patented "Atris is secretly MSG but doesn't know it because she's schizophrenic" theory :D
Hallowed_be_thy_name Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 or that Ewoks destroy the Sith. The PC will then have to dress up in an ewok suit and infiltrate the Ewok command to assassinate the leaders
