LadyCrimson
Re: Unity - on the one hand, pretty sucky move by them. On the other hand, maybe this will mean 7 Day to Dies dev's will suddenly be in a rush to actually freaking finish their game and move on. Either that or they'll spend 4 years moving to a new engine and Beta will happen in 2030. Also - there's going to be a Titan Quest 2? The teaser trailer was useless, the few screenshots are ok. But I am a bit dubious. “Things are as they are. I seem to recall a similar situation roughly a decade ago with Torture Porn Tomb Raider when it sold several million copies and was considered a "failure" for Squeenix because they bled so much money elsewhere and were counting on TR to recoup it. They need to make some changes at Squeenix and run a tighter ship or they're going under sooner or later. 2 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

HoonDing
I'm surprised Sega isn't much below them. But yeah, strange how FFXVI came and went by like a thumbleweed. Lexx
Probably it's not really what people want from a FF game. Personally I didn't like the style either. At least they tried to do something different, I guess. Edited September 14, 2023 by Lexx "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die." Also, tons of good games this year apparently that (at least to me) gave off better marketing vibes. Pair that with economic/inflation consumer doom and gloom and it probably became an "I"ll get it later when it's on sale" title for many. Maybe. 1 “Things are as they are. Yeah, this has been a really good year for gaming as a whole. We've had a lot of really great games released in 2023 from AAA, AA, and indie developers alike. Had FFXVI released during a dry spell it probably would have done (even) better just on the basis of gamers being desperate for something, anything to play. I suppose it's also possible that Final Fantasy no longer has the brand value that it once did, that Squeenix hoped it still did. That's baseless speculation on my part, though. I stopped giving a $#!+ about Final Fantasy 2 decades ago so I'm all types of out of the loop.
