What if the showrunner wanted him out and pretended the next season would be just like The House At The Edge Of Time?🤔

I guess that'll ever be the Enigma. :p

Probably a strict diet, a personal trainer, and steroids. We're probably talking about 2 hours a day 6 days a week for excercise, between that and time on set he probably does cram in the vidya after shooting.

You don't need steriods to look like Cavill, particularly with nutrition and exercise.

Im watching several engaging series that include

  • The Rookie S4: Its a crime drama about rookie and experienced cops set in LA. Easy to watch and easy to enjoy
  • Fire Country : Directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, its about a young convict with a troubled past who joins the California Department of Fire to reduce his sentence. But he is sent to his hometown where he committed his crime. Its good and all about the dangers and reality of fires in California
  • The English: Its a Western about revenge and redemption. Its has some memorable characters and you reminded of the terrible consequence of syphilis back in the 19th century

And then again I want to reiterate how brilliant Let the Right One In is, if you like Vampire series this is a must

Supposedly a leak by someone working on the Witcher set. Guess they don't like gamers and he didn't like the direction of the show.

You can easily read the story from the other side as well. "They F'd up so much, I had to try to fix it all the time. Those writers didn't care at all for the source material. etc" ... And did he really disrespect the women or were they just accidentally the ones who did not care for the source material?

Also I dont mind less nudity and sex and stuff. The episodes were short enough as is and had so much story crammed into it. There was no time to waste on lame and tame fluff soft porn.

Oh come on! What's even the point of a TV show these days if it doesn't have fluff soft porn?! It's the path we need to take to get to hard porn someday!! ;)

there are this very popular delusion that including fan of source material will somehow make the adaptation better

just read some fan fic and see what being a fan means

problem with witcher show is not too much deviation is too little and not in the right places

as with most adaptation

Knives Out - Glass Onion. I would say that it's much weaker than the first part. The only part of the movie that I did like was the monologue near the end where he explains the mystery.

Wife wanted to watch Glass Onion until she realized it's the Last Jedi guy. She's really holding on to that grudge.

maybe she approves o' gordon-levitt as an actor? convince her to watch brick 'cause of actors and perhaps the quirky noir concept. heck, you don't like drug stuff and am recalling you enjoyed brick, so perhaps that might be enough to sell a rian johnson second chance. no doubt your wife knows just how much you dislike illegal drug trade movies and shows, yes?

aside, we preferred knives out, but glass onion was kinda fun and we did smile at a few o' the cameos. tone were a bit lighter than knives out

1899, episode 1: it's Dark but on a boat, or rather two boats

into the trash it goes

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

I largely didn't give about the mystery in Dark, I ain't gonna give about the mystery in a show that's a complete stylistic clone of Dark. All the characters who are belligerent and crappy to each other, the long pauses and vacant looks they give each other before they deliberately withhold information or lie to each other ad nauseum, the same annoying musical cues, THE BIG MYSTERY (which is probably simple in the overall idea but ultra-convoluted in execution)...come on, I already watched this show and more importantly, I didn't care for it, so I'm not watching it again. If someone here watches 1899 and likes it but you haven't seen Dark, go watch it, it's the same thing.

Now, as has been well-documented, I don't really usually care for THE BIG MYSTERY in shows/movies/games/books, but I click on a crappy looking teen drama show...

firefox_7AAims0T6e.png

...and the very first scene is of the same character having apparently recently bathed head to toe in someone else's blood while running on the streets. Now that's a mystery I'm curious to learn more about.

I guess it's not the worst way to hook me into your 20-minute 7 episode show that was really just a movie...albeit one without much in the way of a standard conclusion (but actually, it was probably better that way, as I think it probably would've gotten pretty dumb with a second season to wrap everything up).

Oh, I completely forgot about that one. Thought "I am not okay with this" looked interesting, then saw the first episode and it turned out to be some super hero stuff again... guess that killed my mood, because I never switched it on ever again since.

Spoiler

That was what I was referring to as "it was probably going to get dumb if it went any farther", because apparently there was intended to be a second season that dealt with more of that, but instead the show was mostly character-driven silliness...with some teen angst that somehow didn't make me want to slit my wrists...mostly. Funnily, it was initially greenlit for a second season, but then cancelled because of covid. Maybe better for it, I don't know - I feel like I got a good enough impression of what it was eventually going to go for that I was okay with it ending where it did.

Twin Peaks s1 episode 3

While previous episodes have certainly been strange, I think this is the point where David Lynch rips off the bandaid and the show fully embraces absurdity. And you know what? It works. Beautifully. The result is a ****ing hilarious comedy interwoven with a mystery drama and magical realism.

I don't think I've ever seen Dark, so I don't understand your dislike of Dark on Two Boats (presumably in 1899). How naughty of me

Started watching the Recruit on Netflix. I think we're 2 or 3 episodes in but I don't think we'll continue it.

not a very boring show but momentum run out in later episode make the show feels pointless

Watched second episode of 1899. The mystery deepens. The soundtrack is a bit anachronistic, but otherwise a very intriguing mystery so far 😎

A distress beacon from a vessel called Prometheus. It's clever. We are doing Aliens but it's a costume drama. If you remeber the original Aliens also had a lot of class struggle.

Wife wanted to give it another shot so I put in 2 more episodes. It's definitely not boring but I find it extremely frustrating because when it's good it's pretty good but then it also becomes about the dumbest thing I've ever seen almost immediately after.  Since we're halfway through we might finish it but I don't know if the good parts are worth the parts that I have to get up and leave the room for.
