Bartimaeus Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) Milk Outside of a Bag of Milk Outside of a Bag of Milk I don't play many visual novels (...pretty much never, in fact), but I liked this one. My impression of the game was that I played as the imaginary friend (or perhaps therapist?) of a paranoid schizophrenic girl trapped inside her room trapped inside her brain with only you, the player, as her guide to try and help make sense of her unstable thoughts and surroundings. Why I am playing this incredibly esoteric game...I'm not a hundred percent sure - I guess because I saw some stylish-looking pixel art and it had overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam and it only cost a couple of dollars. Money well spent, I suppose. Edited February 3, 2022 by Bartimaeus 2 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Bartimaeus Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 (edited) Re-visiting Bloodborne a little today. Was pretty sloppy for the first half of the video (first try!), but did better as the battle went on. Would've been pretty embarrassing to die to Cleric Beast, but give me a break, I haven't played this in years. And also, I was using a freaking d-pad because it's on Playstation 1. Yeah, it looks a little weird because on Playstation 4, it only runs at 30 FPS - on Playstation 1, it runs at 60. That's probably what you're seeing...probably. 1 3 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Keyrock Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 (edited) I'm going through the clock tower area of Circle of the Moon. It's not actually called clock tower in this game but they have this area in pretty much every Castlevania game and it's traditionally called clock tower. Anyway, this is almost always one of the coolest looking and most infuriating to play areas, and CotM is no exception. Medusa Heads are easy enough to deal with on solid ground, but when you're doing a bunch of platforming, well, they can die in a fire. Any enemies that fly in a sine wave pattern in any game: Medusa heads, birds, bats, wisps. They can all die in a fire. Bartimaeus Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 I never do well against sine wave enemies/projectiles in anything. In theory, I perfectly understand what to do to dodge them, but reality is a little different... 1 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Mamoulian War Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 A double report for two more playthroughs to the end (number 4 and 5) 4 - February 3, 19:30 – I have started and finished my "lost" copy of Journey on my PS3. It was just a very short and chilled playthrough, where I tried to get as much trophies as possible. Of course, because it is almost two years, when I played it last time on PS4, I completely forgot few locations of some glyphs and symbols . But despite of that, I was able to get 7 trophies in this run. 5 - February 4, 11:00 – Another playthrough of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. The plan was to get some missing collectibles and to get the “surfing” trophy at the Sunken City area. And of course, I missed one collectible again, due to my clumsiness . Also I was able to meet the first companion, so 3 more trophies out of the way. Unfortunately, he did not wanted to play until the end of the game for another one Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Mamoulian War Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 So I have decided to try my luck again with longer race in Assetto Corsa Competizione, in a 1 hour race with a mandatory tire change. On Monza with 50 cars on starting grid This time with Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO. Thankfully it was a community race, because Monza T1 is a nightmare at public lobbies, similar to Spa on my last video Anyway. I've messed up the Qualification, and ended up 34th Then after formation lap, I was destroyed again, this time even before crossing the Starting Line So I went to pits at the end of the second lap to repair the damage, and make the mandatory tire change, aaaand then I just tried to have fun driving around, and try to conserve the tires in a driving state until the end of the race. So my lap times were not very stellar To my surprise, after most of the other drivers got into the pits, I jumped over to 20th position, with two cars under 10 seconds before me, which were fighting, and that slowed them down. In the end, I was able to overtake both of them, and finished on a nice 18th place. In the end, what seemed to be ruined race even before it began, was pretty nice and enjoyable experience, where I moved up 16 positions, and had a lot of fun 1 Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Gorth Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 I tried starting a game of Gary Grigsby's War in Russia (Matrix Edition). Playing as the Soviet side, the (German) AI is just a bit... frustrating at times? Yes, AI is probably the single hardest thing (and I know from experience, it's over the top processing intensive) to get right, but.... arrrrgghh! Frustrating. It manages production and reinforcements just fine, but objectives? It's entirely on a HQ level and there are many HQs, so you get the feel of fighting a brainless horde of huns just swarming you. Once you get an advantage of numbers, they will still try to do "Blitzkrieg", despite being outnumbered 1:10 in a fight, no consideration for casualties. And then there are the Panzer Corps units. Unlike Infantry Corps, they can move up to 5 hexes per turn (operational readiness allowing) and boy does the AI use that. Mostly for suicide missions though. It will repeatedly overextend and send those fast moving units behind your lines, going for Soviet HQ units and rail/road networks. While it causes a few moments of panic at times when a HQ (with its air unit contingent) gets wiped out, it's almost always at the expense of the Panzer unit, which will rush it without any support and ends up dying in a turn or two after. Hence, the label suicide missions. Maybe I should retire the old Dos game and give Gary Grigsby's War in West and Gary Grigsby's War in the East (2010 edition) a try instead (I have both on my steam account) Edit: Because of the way the AI plays, I ended up the second time in a row having taken the Balkans and laying siege to Budapest in late 1942. Just too soon. 3 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
