Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. It was missing this bit: "Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can't say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we'll be going next." I wonder if this means that DLC for the original versions will finally stop being absurdly expensive compared to the games themselves? - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast. Lexx
I'm kinda looking forward to the updated games, to be honest. Last time I tried to play them they felt very dated and clunky. I just couldn't get into it anymore. Like, you can't even use a gamepad on ME1 PC version. What the hell. ShadySands
I was way more excited for new content for the old games than getting any new ME game after Andromeda I guess I can try to finally finish ME1 since I've never beaten it. ME2 is one of my all time favorites though and was really, really hoping for new content for it. Free games updated 3/4/

You realize that it probably going to be a color filter and some minor texture updates, right? Bet I can find a group of mods to make ME1 look better than what they put out for this. 2
Lexx
Didn't they wrote about updated mechanics (gamepad controls etc) somewhere? the_dog_days
All I know is the industry standard for remasters is an EMB and a few textures and EA only ever bucks the industry standards in anti-consumer ways.
213374U
I guess I'm in the same boat as Lexx. I'll be keeping an eye on it, and probably get it when it's discounted. Even if it's just a bunch of upscaled textures and post processing filters à la ReShade, it may be worth it to play through once more. The bundled DLCs are a plus as well. And just to cover the cynicism quota: I fully expect it to be full of old bugs and introduce new ones, as per the time-honored Bioware custom. As always, I'll wait 6-12 months before considering a purchase. 1 - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast. Keyrock
As much as I liked the first 2 Mass Effect games, and I did, I have no interest in playing them again. I seem to have misplaced my nostalgia goggles. I'm more interested to see if Bio can return to form with DA4. LadyCrimson
Not really news maybe, but mod-interesting. I wish it was TR1 tho - but maybe that would likely be a lot harder to do re: texture replacing, not sure? tbh, I barely remember 3. 1 and 2 and 4 are the ones I remember most vividly. Azdeus
Take Two wants to buy Codemasters.
