I would ask the obvious question, why call the police to mental problem instead of medical proffesionals. But I guess it would be obvious answer. Police is free.

In Poland people would call the medical proffesionals and they would decide whether they need assistance from police and if such assistance arrive they are doing what the medical staff tells them, not trying to act on their own.

volo you should do anything reasonable possible to avoid confusion when the police arrive to investigate a disturbance.

The police are not the enemy and play an absolutely critical role in enforcing the rule of law and order which we all support because who wants to live in a lawless society. A phone call takes 3-5 minutes and shouldnt be seen as a laborious task  to do

I would agree if this was a normal country with normal police force. But since its US who as court ruled don't have to "serve and protect" or basicly don't have to do anything normal police force does but the public have to obey them, I don't agree. I don't think US police even qualify for the definition of police.

I hear you and this is unfortunately a common view held about the US police that they are generally more of a problem than a force of good

I definitely  dont agree with that because we just dont have accurate data and statistics that could tell us from a state to state perspective the actual " success "  criteria of what defines a well run and constructive police force

I am not denying there are real problems and examples of some of the police being heavy handed and racist but I just dont believe its accurate and fair to say  " you cannot trust the Police and people can ignore them when given certain instructions " ....we cant really generalize ?

You definitely cannot ignore them because you will be injured or killed. You also cannot trust them as they are not there to "protect and serve" you.

The problem seem not to be in few bad apples or good apples looking the other way. The orchard is runned badly.

Do you feel the same way about Polish police, do you mistrust them as well?

No, I'm talking about US. In Poland police is there to serve and protect and the trainings and laws are made and updated to further this goal. And any wrongdoing have consequences for responsible officers as well as their superiors up to the appropriate minister responsible for police force.

I have been following this important development, Germany should do everything reasonably possible to not utilize any Russian energy and or commodities

Russia is constantly  in violation of numerous UN laws and regulations and its human rights record is truly appalling. One of the best and most  effective, albeit it can take years, ways to implement political change is both sanctions and economic punitive steps....people  involved in autocratic and dictatorial governments   really respond well when they suffer economically

So what happened to  Navalny needs this type of response, hopefully Germany is able to follow through but its not there fault if they cant because there could be legitimate economic and legal reasons they not able to end this type of arrangement with Russia

By this logic, you should stop buying oil from Arabs and Russia, you should stop buying rare earths from China, you should stop buying diamonds and precious industrial metals from african states, you should stop buying cheap labor from China, India etc.

This is just a form of negiotation for better conditions...

No  why would you stop buying oil from any OPEC country and  why would you not buy goods from China?

There are no sanctions against these countries I know of to justify that? Russia has been  illegally attempting to recreate its own borders for about 15 years in countries like Georgia and Ukraine....thats why sanctions against Russia are relevant

I understand your argument but its a false equivalence to be honest ?

In SA we have about 8-10 % of the police per year  that are generally involved in criminal acts, they get arrested and normally successfully prosecuted

But I do trust the SA Police on most things

Nah, I think he's actually trying to say that European women like Arab men because of their superior virility. That's some serious Beta cuck talk there. I'm not sure that's accurate though, that usually comes up when talking about the superiority of big black... male chickens. But eh. Maybe BBCs for Amuricans and Arabs are for Europe. Although technically they're North African, so maybe... who knows. Brown is brown. :p

Also something, something Coudenhove-Kalergi plan, something.

I hope @Azdeus will come along and post, because finding actual information on that Arab Party in Sweden is kind of hard. There's an article in a German online Nazi magazine and one from Russia Today, both extolling the Arab Party for demanding an immediate immigration stop in Sweden (especially from Arabic nations) and something or other about 80 something places in Sweden where the muslim invaders already established Islamic law.

The Arabic party has evolved further!

They want to forbid any public statues and quotes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic!

They got might vote right there.

Is there a huge difference between ancient Norse, Viking Language , and what the Scandinavians speak nowadays ?

Icelandic is related to ancient norse, Swedish, danish and norwegian has their roots in the same place, but we can only understand some words. Swedish and Norweigian is pretty easy, noone understands Danes, not even danes themselves. And then there's Scanians... 🤢

Great answer, very informative and funny....where do you fit Finland into this ? I know there language is very different to you guys but are there any historical links to Finland similar to the " Vikings "  from Denmark, Norway and Sweden. If you look at the map of the region Finland shares a border with Sweden and Norway but there doesnt seem to be same Viking legacy ?

Vikings is one of my favorite TV series of all time, I have watched every season as soon as it comes out

The finns were under Swedish rule for a time, and there are some finns that speak Swedish, they were never really part of the "vikings" from what I know, during the viking age the northern part of Sweden were more independent and Saami people.

Haven't watched a single episode of Vikings, so I wouldn't know if it's any good :p

Edit; I've never been a viking buff, I'm more about the Carolinians. Swedish "Vikings" were traders, since longboats really didn't have a hull, Swedes invented genious flatpack furniture to export, while the Danes and Norwegians were in England stealing all their pretty ladies with nice straight teeth and pretty hair. 😄

And who sets those sanctions and why?

Why no sanctions on Turkey for genocide on Kurds?

Why no sanctions for Sauds for actions in Yemen? Women rights? Slavery? Racism?

Child abuse and slavery in african states? Genocide on Christians in African states? Piracy?

China and their concetration camps? Occupying Tibet? Child workers? Quelling of Hong Kong?

Should I keep going?

Lets not prented those actions have anything to do with morality and stance on some principles, because they do not.

It has everything to do with leverage in negotiations and pressure from US liquid gas lobby

Same like the 'welcome immigrants' was nested in the reality, that native populace became incapable of producing a population growth at an at least replacement level, and there was an idea, that you could have immigrants produce cheap labor and new citizens, who could shape culturaly and support aging demographics, which will require economic growth to keep their pension plans going.

Problem is politicians keep making dumb decisions, because they are being selected by all population, which given the statistics is mostly dumb or of average cognitive abilities and IQ.

The dumber the populace, the worse the idea of democracy is.

You make some good points and I agree with some of what you say, I just dont have the same concerns around " who sets the sanctions..... " . I am fine with how different global sanctions are used and who sets them because the application of sanctions is generally justified if not definitely justified

But I am not making my point correctly and I apologize for that, this is what I should have said. Can you give me one other example where any country in the last 50 years has blatantly been in such defiance of international borders and UN laws around what defines a country than the way Russia illegally annexed Crimea from Ukraine.....honestly just one example that has ever been sustainable and acceptable to the world and its Democratic institutions ?

Some could argue, that Ukraine as a soviet republic wa given Crimea during deep soviet era. Majority of demographics there was and is Russian, like it or not. There was also a large support for Russians there.

It was also dumb to think, that Russians would just abandon their black sea naval base, which is a vital strategic point.

Imagine, Hawaii would decide to leave US and US was told to get lost and abandon bases there.

I'm sure it would go well...

Eastern Ukraine and incursions there, that's a different story, but lst i checked it's still Ukraine's territory
