Hi !

Love the game, almost 600 hours recorded.

One thing though: I really dislike the wall placement system, its often hard to properly place one. Any way to ameliorate this ?

Thanks :)

.... any way to ameliorate this ...

Glad I still have my dictionary from 1790 otherwise I would have trouble knowing what you want!

A circular wall would be useful

I think that the bet way to do wall placement would be to have 2 aim control points on the wall when you're trying to place it.  One at either end, or one at about 1/3 from each end, or even one aim control point in the dead center and the other at one end or the other.  This way, you could "anchor" one end of the wall (or the wall's center) and then use the other aim control point to get the angle right.

You should be allowed to rotate the wall while you're moving it about with the mouse. But really it's a 'meh' for me.

I have barely read the topic but i like that word 'ameliorate'. I will attempt to use it at work tomorrow.

Thanks.

The Wall need a better system. In my opinion mark 1 point for one end of the wall and mark a second point for the other end of the wall.

Obsidian could probably find inspiration in the old wall placement systems of rts games like Age of Empire.

I agree. Walls are pretty hard to get right in the game. Just like in real life.

i'll argue they're so powerful they should be hard to place, vast amounts of arcane energies and so on and so fourth

Would be cool if you could just draw a line on the ground (with a finite length). Ha - I guess then people would draw a fat dot under a single enemy to hit him multiple times per tick.

I don't find them "that" hard to position by the way - once you get the hang of it.

It is annoying though. An ability to rotate the wall would be great.

Given the success of the word "ameliorate" in this thread, may I point out that better wall placement would allow us to have a nicely "murated" defense?

The latter word has apparently been used in print maybe once since the 18th century.

Never in my wildest dreams did I hope to create such success

This thread ameliorated my mood.

Absolutely, this would be fantastic. As it is, I hardly ever use walls because I can *never* get one placed usefully.
