  1. Hello Obsidian Team, I love Grounded, and as a solo player who doesn't want to play with real humans, I hope future updates — or Grounded 2 — bring deeper life, choice, and world interaction. Some of the reasons why games like Minecraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), and Warcraft became the best-selling games ever are that their world feels alive: villagers, decisions that matter, and bases that grow into living communities. Grounded has the potential to take that concept even further. Here are features many solo players would love: Automatic turrets and towers functioned by NPC characters that defend the base even without player control. Recruitable NPCs or friendly bugs that live with us, patrol, and help in combat Base-life system where NPCs move in if rooms, food, and comfort exist NPC team management with small squads, we can train, assign roles to, and command Light base-management and crafting depth, making the backyard feel like a thriving settlement RPG-meets-RTS gameplay, where choices affect relationships, world events, and future outcomes A diplomacy system where NPC factions can become friends or enemies based on actions Occasional base raids, especially if we anger rival NPC teams Rare but meaningful world conflicts between bug groups or NPC squads A stronger story campaign with cinematics and player-shaped decisions Become a leader of one small village or NPC team Character customization pet and ncp friend equipment and customization Almost all creatures are tameable and mountable. Can get a lot of pets in my base, where they can also defend it, even though they are in their pet house Many solo players would gladly pay more, even if it's too expensive for features that make the world feel alive, reactive, and full of long-term decision-making. In the future, you can also add an online feature in Grounded 3, not Grounded 2, a feature where people can buy and sell real items. The player can also buy an in-game items and equipment from you. Thank you for creating such an amazing game. I hope these ideas inspire future development. Sincerely, A hopeful solo player
  2. I love games like The Outer Worlds <3 Sci-fi RPGs, and having player choices and consequences for our actions with a dash of dark humor. What makes a game like this even better is being able to customize our character a bit both in how they look, male or female, hight and weight, sexy or ugly ETC, and of course, "skill/perk choices which I'm sure will be in the game" any word on character customization? What would everyone else like to see in character customization?
  3. It's almost become a running joke that wild orlans have one set appearance, and all you can do is change their fur color. And I get it. Wild orlans are probably the least played character race. No sense putting so much work customizing a race that most players won't even play, and when you won't even run into that many NPC's of them. And since in-universe they're the least "humanized" of orlans, they don't have many hair or beard styles in-universe. I guess it just felt like it made more sense in PoE1 because the character was so small that most physical features came from the portraits anyway. But with the characters being bigger and more detailed in Deadfire makes it feel a bit more iffy. Mostly I'm just confused on why Wild Orlans suddenly have blue eyes?? In the first game, our one set eye color was cat-like golden eyes, while Hearth Orlans (who had more head options anyway) had blue and green eyes. What changed? I wish we could at least customize our eye color, because I always took pride headcanoning that my girl had cat-like golden eyes.
  4. How does leveling up work in PoE?Can you unlock perks or skills on level up like in ToEE or IWD 2? I'm asking this because character customization is a huge thing for me in RPGs.
  5. I know there is already confirmation of swapping in custom portraits, but I'm curious about something slightly different: How hard/expensive would it be to create the built-in portraits in a layered format, with things like hair, skin, eyes, and cloths on separate layers? Furthermore, if that is doable, is it possible to have an in game color-swapper for these layers (and possibly a visibility toggle for things like facial hair). If the portraits are provided in any layered format openable by a good image editor, then we could do the swapping/toggling ourselves quite easily (I'm the antithesis of an artist, and even I could do that), but an in-game interface during character creation would be a nice touch - provided that it doesn't take too much time/money. If this is doable, custom portraits should be allowed to be flat images or layered ones, so that people can just grab their favorites off the web if they want to, or use ones custom-made for P:E with full access to the color change/visibility features. Is any of this a reasonable possibility? Does anyone besides me think it would be at all beneficial?
  6. What information is available on this? For some reason ive seen little discussion on the topic. Can we expect sliders, portraits or a choice of premade faces and minimal alterations? If there's one thing modern rpgs have done right, it must be the ways we can customize our characters appearance, deepening the immersion and personalization of the game. If i missed any obvious choices, do tell.
