  1. I'm not sure if this has already been brought up and I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but I thought I'd try anyway. I'm playing on PC (MS Store version) and I've noticed that after I've completed a companion's personal quest and gained their bonus perk, I'll lose the bonus perk after doing a respec. HOWEVER, after doing a respec, I'll get an additional perk point to use for any companion who's personal quest I've completed as if it's giving me an extra point for the bonus perk. That doesn't seem like it's how it was intended to work. I figured the bonus perk would be a permanent passive quest reward. The way it's working now you have no warning that a respec will remove the perk and no way of getting it back even though you do get an additional point to spend after respec. Sorry if this is a well known bug, I just noticed it happening. I did a quick Google search and only found one small topic on Reddit talking about it. Figured I'd bring it up. Maybe someone else could do some testing to see if they get the same results.
  2. Howdy there, I just now noticed that when I used the Re-Spec machine on the unreliable it deletes the special perks that my companions have. For example; I just finished Pavroti's personal quest and she gained the "enchanted evening" perk. After I used the machine , and redid all her perks, she did not regain that perk. I've already used it once and am now just noticing this. Is this a bug or a feature? I don't know what to do to restore this other than just not use the machine. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you, Concerned Player
  3. So I hit level 12, and went to go assign my skill points, but they were greyed out and I couldn't click on them. Thinking maybe it was because I was in a combat zone, I left the planet. Still couldn't. I have since leveled up, stripped naked, etc in game, reloaded the save, and I still can't assign skill points. Worse, I tried respeccing thinking that would help. I now have 120 skill points I can't assign. So basically, my character has become unplayable
  4. Hello! So as Beast of Winter came out I decided to start new game. The very first respec of my character gave me: 1. Battle axe proficiency (which I did not choose) 2. Mace proficiency (again, did not choose this one at level-up) 3. Fighter's skill "Knock Down" This is a single class cipher ascendant, so can't even use Knock Down since I have no Discipline. 5. I have had multiple trainings for my watcher from different people around the deadfire (each costing 3000 copper), but after respeccing I've discovered that all my trainings are gone. Foolishly, I've overwritten my only save before checking my stats to realise my trainings were gone. Now I am sitting at about 18000 lost copper, and no way to get the trainings back. Is this an intentional feature, or a bug?
  6. 1. I had an issue with hired adventurers which I cannot reproduce at this point so I might have been fixed. I created two lvl 4 characters and set their level 1 stuff (abilities and such). The leveling up on clicking the + as usual gave me the level up for 4 however, meaning I effectively lost the levelups for 2 and 3. I was able to work around this by buying a respec for him after creation. This was not reproducable for me with that savegame, so that might be fixed with the last patch. 2. Assuming this chart is accurate https://assets.rpgsite.net/images/images/000/066/406/article/DeadfireGuideTable.png my characters do not gain Weapon Proficiency correctly. They are a Battlemage and an Ascetic. The same characters on level 7 now both have 1 Weapon proficiency. I assume they had the ones removed that I chose on creation and only got the level 4 one, not sure. They also did not get a Weapon proficiency at level 7. If I respec them now they reset to level 2, losing all abilities in the tree. This means I don't get to chose any Weapon proficiency again (for level 1) plus I lose two abilities per class (both are multiclass characters) that I would chose for level 1. 3. I also have another hired adventurer (Herald) which I created with level 5 (I think). For her the character creation worked correctly. When I rescpec her she does not lose the Weapon proficiencies from level 1 (cannot change them though). But she does lose phrases aswell as the paladin passive Deep Faith. After the respec Deep Faith is greyed out for level 2, but selectable later (?). I think I chose Deep Faith for level 1 aswellm so I again lose a point when respecing. The chants I created which use the phrase I had before respec still have it, but they are not selectable on the left in the chant creation screen. Tl;dr; - no Weapon proficiency at level 7 - no respec to level 1, if it has to be 2 for whatever reason atleast let me keep the stuff I chose for that level at creation. - remove phrases in chants I don't have anymore after respec. Also: Please add a button somewhere that lets me see the ability tree of a character outside of when he is leveling up. And please grey out the unreachable power levels for multiclass in the character selection aswell like it is in the level up process. Attaching the savegame with the aforementioned characters at level 7 aswell as a screenshot from a level 7 character with only 1 Weapon Proficiency besides Unarmed, which should not be possible outside of Devoted. Wont bother with system specs for now since it does not seem like a technical issue to me. https://www.dropbox.com/s/aawnrl9tk2vljku/filesLevelingIssues.zip?dl=0
  7. If you respec or recruit some one at least level 5 or higher, that I've tested so far, after level 1 you are put to level 4. The game half acts like you're level 2 and half acts like you're level 4. You get 1 point for both specs in the case of multi class but don't get the tier 2 options. Another possible related issue I noticed is in the case of chanter you only get 1 point and can't choose a chant and a phrase* (sorry not sure if those terms are right).
  8. Hey guys, PS4 user here new to the game. So I went to an inn and selected retrain, for my main character. But after choosing the new attributes and skills the character sheet still displays the same stats. I've tried it three times at several inns and quit the game, restart, rested, but I can't seem to get it to work. Am I missing something here? I can't find anything on google about retraining so I thought I might find some answers with the vets here. Edit; I should mention that the cost for respec is subtracted from my gold every time, so it's not a cancel or anything. Edit 2; Allright i've found a bug report on this, so nevermind this topic. I'll wait for a patch.
  9. I don't particularly enjoy playing with Monk characters. Will there be a way, I wonder, to respec the priest/monk character Xoti and yank out the Monk class levels? Or are we stuck with that?
  10. Issue: This issue occured after respeccing my Chanter who is my main. Reloading my game doesnt fix anything and niether does restarting the game. Unable to edit phrases within the "edit chants" book. The right page is blank and where you would normally assign phrases into ABCD etc... is not centered on the page and is running off the bottom of the book. If I do try and assign phrases to the book to chant, it simply creates multiple copies of the chant and the action bar grows longer with multiple copies. No chanting icons can be seen on the right page only the off center chant grid things running off the bottom of the page. Dropbox link: Contains 2x screen shots of issue, output log, dxdiag stats, a before save, an after save. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0wynmxpd1b4z9ez/AACKEBHmkGowh_wb87BDIwAZa?dl=0 This is pretty game breaking for myself considering the character is my main, searching for similar issues before this post I also found this post which has a simlar issue except this dude was able to work around it slightly: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/67155-chanter-ui-copies-or-deletes-sequences-of-chants-and-editing-does-not-work-until-game-restart/ Woulnd't have found this bug if I wasn't respeccing after being slaughtered by the Adra Dragon down in Od Nua, please if possible fix asap, I've got a score to settle. That and I'd like to buy White March....
  11. I got 4 BUGS/PROBLEMS: 1.- Can start the White March missions, cause I can't talk with the steward Like: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/81328-cannot-speak-to-the-steward-to-begin-durgans-batter/?hl=steward 2.- Eder keeps wait for talking, but already chosed all options in our conversation 3.- If I respec my character, Savage Attack, keeps available without any need to pick it. And if i choose it during lvl up, i got 2 savage attack available. 4.- The loads time are hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorrible.... Here are the files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/275k5smif9tnpxc/AADj1vH1AErQUMLlozRIlTSJa?dl=0
  12. Today I've hit the 100 hour mark in Pillars of Eternity. But out of this 100, I've spent at least 90 either without any companions, or with the custom made ones. I haven't done a single companion quest, my only knowledge of them comes from their first dialogue. I just can't have an inefficient companion when I can make the custom one and optimize its stats as I see fit. So when it was announced that 2.0 would make it possible to respec your companions, I was really hyped. I was more hyped about it than about the DLC. Finally, I thought, I might explore all the characters with their unique stories! I can finally do their quests! I can enjoy the party banter during the dialogues! Boy, was I wrong. When I've tried respecing my Aloth and it didn't let me change the attributes, I went to the bug report subforum!!! I haven't even thought that it could be something other than the feature not working correctly! And over there I've found out that you can only respect your main character and the custom ones. I've been so mad ever since! I did accept it during the 1.0 because there were no respec mechanic in place back then, but I'll never understand this arbitrary restriction regarding the preset companions now. You may say that the game is easy enough for you to complete it with the preset companions even on PoTD, and I would agree with you. But I won't ever have a 12 Might Wizard in my party. Or 11 Might 12 Int cypher. Or the 19 Resolve priest. Or any other mediocre companions. Sorry for the rant, but I'm truly disappointed.
  13. Like many other people here I feel that my companions are useless. As a Paladin I'm more or less screwed for not going mechanics as when I did manage to pick up my new companions they all had botched skills. The attributes I guess I can live with but some of the talents are just horrendous. So my question is if there is any safe and well working way to change my companions? Like putting them back to level 1 and then letting me choose how they level up. I know people have mentioned IEmod but I've also read it's not working perfectly. Being able to keep getting achievements would also be a plus
