The CCA still exists; its mostly only used by Archie and DC Comics (for their young readers line) but still reviews and approves comics. AIUI the CCA was originally ran BY the Comics Companies (and was partially instituted by the original participants to kill EC Comics and Lev Gleason). IIRC one of the Archie Publishers was the original CMAA's Code Administrator. By the late seventies (at least) boobs and naked butts could be seen in PG movies (provided that there was no sexual connotations). The PG-13 rating really skewed violence and nudity around.

Of course that means that Chris O'Donnell had nipples on his Robin suite - twice Alicia Silverstone went nippleless, however, in the Batgirl suit to even things out.

I see it differently. Bale's playboy Wayne seems to be an act, at least ever since he's returned from his training with Ra's. Keaton seems to always be an introverted loner, both as Batman and Wayne. But it's been a while since I've seen the '89 Batman. We meet Bale in the first film as Wayne (as opposed to the Keaton film, where we're introduced to Batman first). To me at least, the movies suggest that Batman is a guise he adopts (and I think his dialogue with Alfred about the need for Batman as a symbol indicate that Bruce sees it as such) rather than an over-riding part of who he is. Yes he plays up certain things (like Wayne being the rich party with a woman on either arm) for effect, but it doesn't change my feelings that overall Bale seems to be Wayne to me. Keaton as the loner seems more like Batman in that sense; fighting crime is who he is. When he's being social, when he's being Wayne - that's the act he's putting on because who he is won't allow him to disappear from society entirely.

AFAIK nipples were on both Kilmer and Clooney's suits.

I think Bale does well as Wayne, his Batman is okay, but he sounds like he needs a throat lozenge. Keaton is like the reverse, his Batman is great but his Wayne is only okay. But in his defense his movies give very little for Wayne to do but wait for the call for Batman. I think in someway both are strung by the dichotomy of the character - is he Batman or Wayne? Bale plays Batman as Wayne, whereas the way the earlier movies worked Keaton seemed to be Batman playing at being Wayne. Or maybe its just me. That's be Adam West. Hard to really make a comparison since he's acting in a comedy, while Wilson, Lowery, Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney and Bale are all playing the part in more dramatic productions.

I have yet to be selected for a jury when called for jury duty (of course, by posting that, the streak will end next time I am called). Worst was when I spent 10 hours being rejected from potential juries.

The Aperaham Lincoln ending to the PotA remake just let down the film. They really shouldn't have even tried it - they should have stuck with an end that felt relevant to the story being told. Watched Coroline over the weekend. Wonderful & creepy film.

So, uh. EA/Starbreeze working on a new Bourne game

Was High Moon's Bourne Conspiracy a success? -
See if someone wants to qualify things with survivability then it should be done in the first post.

I always figured being in lava would be the hottest place on earth in the sense of place we'd normally be able to (accidentally one hopes) find ourselves. 700 to 1,200 degrees C (1,300 to 2,200 degrees F) seems a bit warm. I suppose the center of the earth could be hotter, but its not terribly likely for us to find ourselves there (the existence of Pellucidar not withstanding).

Sadly I wasn't at that game session so I only know of it by legend. Apparently he almost got killed trying to parlay with some Orcs while his personality was in Orc Barbarian mode, then fell out with the group in Elven Princess mode because they weren't treating him as befit his station in life (complete with slapping the male party leader in the face for being too familiar!) I wish I'd been there.

I know I have Better Bodies, I think I have Better Heads as well (I think I had both of those from my first time around). I just added one of the mods that replaces all the textures in the game making the environment look much better too, plus a few other random mods I found looking for a good world replacer.

Doesn't make sense to me to close down a successful company. Hopefully the new company Tony Goodman puts together can be a success.

Replaying Morrowind atm; the default graphics for people are hideous. Absolutely hideous.

I saw Call Of Cthulhu...it was pretty good. Looking forward to seeing The Whisperer in Darkness. And to add a trailer I haven't seen posted here for dissection ala the Dragonball one, I give you: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li -
I heard it was mediocre, if I remember the reviews correctly. I played a demo of it back when I played the demo of NWN2. I'm thinking the version I played was a demo and not the final game but it seemed like it could have been okay with some more work.. Was interested in it because they put Psionic classes in, but the menu was clunky and hard to navigate - which I've heard was the case in the finalized game. Never did get to a fight (hey, the menus were hard to navigate!) and I've heard that the way they handled them was problematic in terms of searching for loot on the battle screens.

Yes, the original is from 1956. The guy in the 1978 film who runs up to Donald Sutherland's car warning him that they're trying to take over only to be chased and hit by a car is actually the lead from the original film (Kevin McCarthy) and the scene itself an homage to the end of the 1956 film.

simply swap out party members when you need to I know I can and have, but I'm never happy with them. I keep going back and tinkering. I've spent several hours playing the game, and 9/10 of it has been creating characters.

Mine are in boxes...can I just link to some pictures of boxes?

Lets see, since last I posted here I've seen: The Spirit - terrible film, awful direction, no plot. One of the handful of films so bad I walked out on it, not because I can't take bad films but because it also committed the cardinal sin of being boring as well as bad. Hair Extensions - kinda creepy, in its way, but not as scary as I'd hoped it might be. The Ghoul - great old Boris Karloff film; one which apparently sent the UK censors wild at the time. Speed Racer - such a fun, kinetic film. Truly a pity it didn't find its audience, IMO. My Bloody Valentine 3D - nice use of 3d, effective slasher kinda disappointed in the end. Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans - for what it is, it was fun. But prequels where you know everything that HAS to happen can lack suspense, which this film does. Dr. Syn alias the Scarecrow - Disney's TV adaption of the Scarecrow of Rommeny Marsh story. Pretty fun and Patrick McGoohan (RIP) is always good. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - I'd not seen this version since I was very young; good to see it again. Very effective remake - shows that it can be done and be just as good as the original.

I still haven't been able to finish the game because I'm never happy with my party. :|

Eh...Hammett was better, IMO. Actually I found Chandler to be a big struggle to read, in general. Not a fan of his style.

*shock* howling1! ObTopic - I can't say I do a lot of meta-thinking in most RPG games; I roll with what it gives me. Yeah Severok's plan is stupid, but it was what the game gave me so I worked with it. But I think Irenicus, in general, worked better as a villain. Still haven't played much on SoZ; I've been sidetracked...
