  1. Yeah, its a popular take on the police drama which doesn't seem to be slowing down. The CW's changed iZombie to be more of a police guy teams up with zombie assistant mortician who retains memories from brains she eats to solve crimes from what I hear too (although the original had aspects of that - but no police. Also iZombie is from Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggerio from VERONICA MARS so I'll give the pilot a shot).
  2. The Golden Age is the best place for ridiculousness. Marvel has a super-speed character who got super-speed because, while in Africa he was bitten by a cobra and was given a transfusion of mongoose blood(!) which countered the cobra venom(!!) and saved his life, while also giving him super-speed(!!!) He then donned a bright yellow & blue costume(!!!!) and fought crime as The Whizzer (!!!!!) I like Momoa too, so I'd like him to get a vehicle that works for him.
  3. ^supposedly while the bar and supporting cast are in the pilot, there's also a new character - a policewoman who befriends Lucifer and gets his help on unusual cases or some such. So less "Law and Order" and more "Castle (of the Damned)" or "Unholy Mentalist" or "Elementary Fallen Angel Edition"
  4. The weird thing is (in some versions) the fact that Aquaman is a blonde is important (as there was a prophecy involving a fair-headed child in the typically dark haired royal family). That said I don't hate it, acknowledging that the DC movies are flying far afield from fairly frontward focuses on continuity. Sorry, the aliteration got away from me.
  5. Does this mean we might be dealing with the pundead here?! Oh no! We must be dealing with pundemonium. We'd better find the Pundemonicon and exorcize any bad puns from this world in earnest! "Klaatu... verata... n... Necktie. Nectar. Nickel. Noodle." This probably is how big head mode canoniacally was first encountered in the Project Eternity world.
  6. If I was a ghost I would EXPECT to walk through walls. When the only food available is zombies, zombies will become the staple meal. I could see a post-apocalyptic fantasy going there. I'd be more worried about Lucasfilm/Disney suing over the use of a lightsaber in this scenario. People do have issues with guns and stuff, but honestly if the lore supports a weapon (like some of the fantasy or science-fantasy hybrids I've seen), there really isn't a problem.
  7. Guillotine Gun? My mind, it boggled. Not sure if I'm disappointed or not that it's just a gunblade analogue, I was sort of hoping for a gun that actually fired Guillotines. Still, as a side effect I know about the might actually have been real Chinese 'Flying Guillotine', which I'm sure will be useful in future.
  8. I'd have ditched the bananas but I love mushrooms. Just not a big fan of most fruits on a pizza (or in salsa)* *Yes I know that tomatoes and chilli peppers are fruits.
  9. I voted #2, but truth is I don't really care. Either solution I'm cool with.
  10. So...its not lying when you don't tell the facts about what happened in the factual way they happened? I'm not saying he isn't necessarily incorrect about confusing the events - you tell a story enough times and/or with enough detail most people can insert themselves into it whether it happened to them or not. The fact that he was doing this as early as 4 years after the fact makes me think this isn't a case of confused memory, but still I'll accept that it could have happened. But exagerration ("The fish I caught was THIIIIIIIIIIS big!") is a form of lying in the context of telling a supposedly factual story. It may be excusable, but it's still lying.
  11. To be fair, Richard "****" Wolf is the guy who created Law and Order: SVU. Wolf wrote films (like 1988's MASQUERADE), was a staff writer on HILL STREET BLUES and was a supervising producer on MIAMI VICE before he created the original LAW AND ORDER. He's went on to create shows like MANN AND MACHINE, COLD JUSTICE, DEADLINE, CHICAGO FIRE, THE HUMAN FACTOR and PLAYERS.
  12. Well I'll watch for reviews and comments to see if I can gage whether the single player campaign is worth it or not.
  13. Well...I didn't hate it. Which is encouraging, the original word (before Guy Ritchie became involved) was that it was going to be a serious spy movie which seemed wrong for an UNCLE film. This seems more like it (although I guess its an UNCLE origin film since Solo is CIA and Kuryakin is KGB).
  14. You could say the same thing about people who say they earned a purple heart but didn't. Or people who claim on their resumes to have worked for IBM, but didn't.

  16. I hate the "what's trending" "news" articles on what is supposed to be non-entertainment news.
  17. Reminds me of something. Local news channel broke into program touting they were "First on the scene" where a teen boy had been shot to death by his younger brother playing with a gun. And would break in with more details. Next update, the teen was playing with the gun and had accidently shot and killed himself. No brother, and no clue if the gun was his parents or not or where the parents were. Last update, a man in his mid-twenties committed suicide at his own home.
  18. I can still remember the accident I was in 25 years ago. So much so that I can still remember the expressions on the faces of the family in the other car. I'd suspect that I would remember being in a helocopter hit by a missle vs being on the ground and seeing a helocopter that had been hit before us. There's a huge, huge difference in experiences there. And as gfted1 says, he's been telling the story for a decade at least.
  19. Shhh, not so loud. Officially it was Tobe Hooper. Spielberg's contract wouldn't let him direct anything but ET: THE EXTRATERRESTIAL during the time Poltergeist was filming I kid - althought that's the conspiracy theory, I've never seen anything legitimate that suggested that Tobe Hooper wasn't the director and Speilberg an involved and creative collaborative producer for Tobe. Which is funny (to me at least) considering that Raggedy Ann was the real Annabelle doll from the Warren's stories that made The Conjuring & Annabelle films but obviously for trademark reasons they couldn't use Raggedy Ann...
  20. I didn't have a problem with Garfield or Maguire. The character Maguire played was the nerdy character I expected Peter to be; Garfields version was the cool outsider/rebel and I didn't think that was an easy fit for the character. Liked he was able to quip and fight though - something missing from the Rami films. Most of my problems with ASM2 were with the script - because just like Spider-Man 3 they tried to cram too many concepts into one film. Actually my problems with ASM1 were with the script as well, but I'd hoped 2 would fix those problems rather than make it worse (although I also didn't like either the visualization or characterization of The Lizard in 1. The ASM2 villains faired slightly better except Rhino).
  21. Sinister Six is delayed, no word on the other movie plans (which may need to change given this news). Garfield is 31, he only wanted to continue (IIRC) if Webb was directing and even if he was willing to come back, I'm not sure Marvel would want to pin a multifilm (and thus multiyear) deal on him to play a teen/early 20s character. It should also be pointed out that this is only conjecture that he's out, but seems solid conjecture.
  22. I'm not sure how they can top the creepy preacher in part 2. Julian Beck was perfectly cast in terms of bringing out the creepyness of that character.
  23. Its a good bet he'll be in the 3rd Captain America (if there's time to fit him in). Spider-Man was important to the comic Civil War storyline, and it was one of the reasons Marvel was pushing for the deal from what I hear. I think they are representative, in their way. That's why I don't sweat the trailers too much if there's something of interest. I do see a lot of derivative ideas in the Poltergeist trailer (particularly from THE CONJURING and INSIDIOUS and possibly other James Wan films moreso than the original film) but there's enough there to make me want to see what the film is like.
  24. Hmm, that criteria's pretty broad, IMO. If running around and people being dragged or jumped on in a trailer made films an action film then it'd class the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre as an action film Or Phantasm... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmcR8_2RinY
