  1. Nah, they're not going to make a single clone of Shepard. They're going to make *2* clones of Shepard, one for you to play and one for you to romance. Seriously though, I liked the series (admittedly decreasingly during each installment) so I'm curious - if they can recapture the best parts of the series for a full game, then the game will be worth playing.
  2. Anita is a journalist? What publication(s) does she work for? What games has she reviewed or previewed as a writer for said publication?
  3. Yeah one of the big faults of Infinity (IMO) is they don't have a cool generic world for the Toy Box characters and making one with any depth seems to always be more problematic than you think it should be.
  4. They have enough fantasy kingdoms and fantasy objects they could probably do a pretty solid high fantasy story. Make Chernabog the main villain somewhere in it, and I'd be for it.
  5. lol. I think two of the hotels still exist (International and Hilton?)
  6. I know he was, but I didn't think you or MISO was, so Iz confuzzled.
  7. Looks like the only stretch goal that wasn't hit was the Hireling Deck.
  8. Haven't been for a while, but I enjoy the off-strip casinos as much as the wretched-excess monuments. The ones with gold lightbulb marquees and buffets for retired people. Next time I go, I'd like to catch a Supercross race, or bomb Natties with rednecks at the Speedway. No I wouldn't. Yes I would. The dirtbikes anyway. Monster Energy girls carry signs on the track that say "30 Seconds to Go" which somehow seems familiar and shameful at the same time. Why do you guys leave out the strip clubs ? Are you embarrassed...please dont tell me you guys did nothing similar to that in Vegas Mmm...I may be misunderstanding this conversation, but "off-strip" Casino mean "off the Vegas strip" not "off-strip clubs". The main casinos in downtown Las Vegas were clustered along a strip bordered by certain roads (Los Vegas Hwy, Russel Rd, Sahara Avenue and Freemont Street, I think); other gambling establishments originally that weren't in the strip were outside the city limit. I've never been to Los Vegas, but if I did I'd probably try to go to all of the places (still existing) that appeared in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER...
  9. I love it when people think that making up cute names for games somehow strengthens their points, and how hating a game - but playing it to the end - somehow makes their hate more legit. Generally speaking, I advise if you hate a game - stop playing it. (That said, I've not played Witcher 3 and probably won't ever play it having played none of the serious and finding myself uninterested in it from what I've seen here).
  10. Own goals suck. When in high school, I was subbing as keeper and got own goaled because I stumbled on a no pressure passback by a defender and missed the pickup. Mortifying, truly mortifying. Thankfully my side still ended up winning, 6-3.
  11. Don't get me wrong, I understand why people dislike the Anita/McIntosh posts & videos. However, understanding that perception of a large issue that you're not actively involved in is always unreliable, I have to say the first references to Anita in the GG/anti-GG writings I saw was the GG side bringing her in, not her inserting herself in. Given that she's not a journalist but a "researcher", she seemed an odd target for a group that was arguing for ethics in journalism. If the nightly news ran a daily story on the person who stands on a street corner preaching the end of the world and treated the claims as truth, tailoring their newscast to bolster the end of the world claims, you could certainly complain about the journalistic side of it, but complaining about the person preaching the end of the world is a fruitless endeavor.
  12. Inspiration: Avoid for Inspiration
  13. I was only really talking about the relationship stuff (for example the whole "Zoe is a rapist by her definition because..." stuff that happened). I think criticism of the FYCap is fine as long as it sticks to why Zoe was mischaracterising FYCap or how her reasoning may have been flawed. But again the perception I had of what I read during that period was "Zoe sought to end FYCap trying to help a woman developer" or "Zoe uses odd logic to be against this positive contest" was often lost in "Zoe cheated on her boyfriend and she technically raped her boyfriend by the definition of rape her boyfriend attributed to her...oh and did you see the nude pics she took when she was younger, etc, etc."
  14. Really the short tombs and lack of really strong puzzles was my biggest complaint about the reboot. I'm playing Tomb Raider not Cannibal Holocaust Raider.
  15. They should get a Chris Avellone "Standee" made and bring it to the presentation.
  16. I think the right tact for a new & review outlet to take would be to be guided by the phrase "It is not enough to do no wrong, one must avoid the appearance of impropriety". While I don't think supporting a Kickstarter itself is grounds for recusing from covering the Kickstarted game (because we know that not everyone who kickstarts a game is going to love the finished product), it'd be best if its mentioned in the article that the writer had supported a Kickstarter just to keep disclosures consistent. I'd generally argue the same for Patreon payments. Other types of relationships probably should end up with that writer not covering the product.
  17. Zoo is kinda ridiculous, but I liked it enough to watch it again next week.
  18. Sorry, wasn't meaning to make you feel bad; I did think supporting the publication of Hogan having sex in private with another man's wife because adultry was immoral was dispicable. Neither Hogan or the other man's wife really "deserved" their intimate moments to be posted to the internet. You did make me feel bad but I don't blame you....you played the guilt card marked with fact. There is a difference between Zoe Quinn who was a no name, diffident , depressed programmer having an affair with some equally no name " gaming journalist " and Hogan the super-celebrity sleeping with his friends wife...yet they are also similar so I had to concede I was wrong I'm not aware that a Zoe Quinn secretly made, non-consented to sex tape had surfaced (I understand people found a nude photo shoot or video or something she'd did years ago that was online and pointed it out in public, but not a sex tape made without her consent). That said the only aspect of the Zoe Quinn stuff that should ever have been of interest is the potential conflict of interest in the Journalist's article had their been press created that didn't disclose the relationship. The relationship is - as it should be - a non-issue of itself and (IMO) Zoe Quinn took the brunt of a lot of unfair remarks and criticisms when - realistically - the problem wasn't with any group of pairs of people and their relationship but whether there was an undisclosed bias behind the press created by the journalists. One of the biggest problems (IMO) with the GG narrative is the claim that it's about games journalism (which can be a valid point of concern) and turning it into these personal digressions. I'm still not 100% sure why Anita got dragged into it other than a large section of the online gaming community have a mad on hate for her and MacIntosh. In short, talking about "Writer A" being paid through Patreon by "Developer B" where "Writer A" wrote a glowing review of "Developer B"'s product without disclosing the financial relationship is a problem. Talking about "Writer A" sleeping with the best friend of his/her boy/girlfriend, who is the second cousin thrice removed from "Developer B"'s maiden aunt's next door's neighbor is a bunch of hooey, IMO. Talking about the personal life may be relevant to conflicts with specific articles, but often it seems like gossipy speculation (if not character assassination). Again, IMO.
  19. Not if one of the groups is wearing hazmat suits. The hazmat suits would get dirty. And in taking them off the people inside might get dirty. And the person who cleans them might get dirty. And the person inside might get dirty if the suit isn't properly sealed... ...what was my point again? Sorry, wasn't meaning to make you feel bad; I did think supporting the publication of Hogan having sex in private with another man's wife because adultry was immoral was dispicable. Neither Hogan or the other man's wife really "deserved" their intimate moments to be posted to the internet.
  20. I think the weird thing is that (so far at least) there's been little real benefit to it being Malcolm in the book, so retconning the previous book seems odd.
  21. ...How exactly are you expecting any good-faith discussion to ensue when you're literally incapable of not assuming the worst of the people sitting on the other side of the table? I don't think either side is capable of not assuming the worst of the people across the table. That's how "ethics in journalism" and "anti-harassment" and "better/more positive/more inclusive representation" and "disclosure of areas of potential bias in news articles" end up being opposing concepts (when there's nothing inherent in one that precludes the others other than the sides have drawn their lines in the sand). Lets not degrade both sides to the lowest closest denominator...GG is still worse than anti-GG at the end of the day if you look at everything that occurred ? When two groups fight in the mud, don't both get dirty?
  22. Awkward. EDIT: Aaaaand that would have worked better on the bottom of the last page instead of the top of a new page. ... So yeah, I'm still working on Crichton's THE LOST WORLD.

  24. ANW is an awfully fun show to watch. Although I felt bad for some of the contestants who ended up being out due to some unfortunate blunders.
  25. ^That picture isn't horror enough?
