Those are Medical Eye Patches as far as I know. Yoshihiko Noda made a stir appearing with one covering a black eye in January 2012 when he was PM. I've seen reference to them being prescribed for a variety of things, from detached retinas to styes.

We've had nobody for the better part of a decade. We still buy candy, but no one shows up on the street. Never was much in for decorating the house. Long gone are the days when I was a kid when I went up the street to a neighbors haunted tent house and ran home screaming. Lol.

I dunno, a lot of people are just...like...weird man. It was mostly doctors and nurses and firefighters, construction worker and other occupations easily identified by some outfit. Occasionally 6 year-olds in suits with a briefcase being a lawyer. Kind of harder to figure out an identifiable uniform for plumber, electrician, secretary, teacher and soul-numbed middle manager.

I think Trunk or Treat replaced the mall based events that replaced door-to-door stranger danger. But then malls died and became like...haunted derelicts too scary to go into and a lot of Church's dropped their events (or at least they're not advertising them at the local churches anymore - assume they've decided Halloween is anti-christian or whatever.

My former elementary school changed Halloween to "Careerween" and only allowed costumes if it represented a career because scary stuff is to scary/demonic/whatever. I assume they still do it, haven't been involved in years since I changed where I worked.

Love House - been a few years since I watched it. I had one of the leads as my avatar back when Criterion released it.

I think Marvel's multiverse is going to keep coming on strong (it kind of has to with Kang as the villain, and alternate timelines setting up multiverses). DCU once the Gunn era starts hasn't given much multiverse crossover noise (they plan to keep The Batman and Joker series as their own thing, I believe branding them Elseworlds like in the comics to indicate they're not in the same universe as the Gunn stuff).

Keith Giffen one of my favorite creators in comics - Legion of Superheroes, Vext, Justice League, Dr Fate, Trencher, PunX, The Heckler, Lobo, Blue Beetle, amid many other works...RIP.
