An odd little Inconsistancy
Iseo Tiakan replied to kitty_with_a_lightsaber's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wasn't the "stink" just a story made up by Mira to keep you confused while the actual poison she used in that little room of hers to disable you was working its way down into your body? (she says she used some sort of immunity pill or whatever herself in advance so it wouldn't affect her as well...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is correct. -

What ending would you have liked to see?
Iseo Tiakan replied to Sophy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I really think the conversation with Carth about Revan should have been held until the end of the game, with Bastilla's lines cut. -
Arrogance. Specifically, the belief that she could be accountable to no one but herself and continue to walk the path of the Jedi.

Perhaps my favorite moment in the entire game: Azanti Zhug: I am Azanti Zhug, leader of Zhugs, very powerful, very skilled hunters. It would be very smart of you to tell me where the criminal Jedi has gone. And do speak very quick, my patience is very low. Atton: Anybody here catch that? All I understood was "very." Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the General to his poorly-trained collection of bounty hunters. Atton: Ah. Well, that would explain it. Which one do you want? Bao-Dur: I'll take the stupid one who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance.

An odd little Inconsistancy

Actually, all we know is that the Jedi Temple's spires tower over the surrounding buildings 4000 years later. -
True enough. I just wish Obsidian had stuck with the level-based progression of NPC conversations, rather than create an influence-based system that forces you into out-of-character actions if you want to learn anything about the people you're traveling with.

There are none outside the Ebon Hawk, and while the ones inside the Hawk are pretty good, some of them are very difficult to trigger.

Who's the funniest KOTOR character ever?
Iseo Tiakan replied to Sophy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Did anyone ever bring Jolee and Canderous along on Korriban? Truly brilliant stuff. Sith: Do you know how many Sith there are on Korriban? Jolee: Uh... twelve. No, wait... thirteen! Canderous: Good one, old man. Jolee: Thanks. It takes a lot of work to stay properly irreverent at my age. Mekel: I'm letting them stand there until they die. Jolee: Why don't you just shoot them? It would at least be more direct. Canderous: That's what I would do! Jolee: Of course that's what you would do. -
I'm a lightsider. Okay, who am I kidding? Juhani, with the lightsaber/chainsaw combination of SCIENCE! (Three points to the first person who gets the reference.)

Who's the funniest KOTOR character ever?
Iseo Tiakan replied to Sophy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Probably would've been better to not have a poll since there's so many options. Although I think HK-47 would win easily even with Carth on the list! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. HK-47 is by far the funniest character in the series (KOTOR HK being much funnier than KOTOR2 HK), but I like to make sure Carth gets his due in threads like this. He was the undisputed master of the snappy comeback in the original game. -
Haven't had Disciple in my party yet, but here are my comments on him so far: - I can't imagine that he's superior or even equal to the Handmaiden in terms of combat ability. - I've checked dialog.tlk, and can confirm that if you're dark side, he becomes a senator, and if you're light side, he joins the Jedi Council. I particularly like the bit about him doing so "reluctantly," as it's reminiscent of Plato's argument that the people most fit to govern are those who don't want to govern. - Every time I see the name Disciple, I immediately think of the red guy with the squeaky voice in season three of Red vs. Blue.

Bao-Dur and Disciple made the poll, but Carth didn't? I mean, say what you will about his whining, but the man had some zingers. -
Mandatory hourly pazaak games with T3.

Exile: I found some information about Batu Rem. Lieutenant Grenn: The real Batu Rem or the assassin Batu Rem? Exile: The real Batu Rem. Lieutenant Grenn: Really? Did you find him? Exile: Batu Rem is an officer of the TSF stationed in the TSF office in Entertainment 081. Lieutenant Grenn: Very funny. Did you come in here just to waste time and crack jokes? Exile: That was more or less the idea. Also, when debating with Atris about your motives for going to war: "Have you been reading the history of the blind? Revan. Won. The. War."

Coruscant is very unlikely to be in the next game. Unlike any other planet in either of the first two games, it's uncontested Republic territory. Sure, Telos and Onderon ostensibly belonged to the Republic, but the former was more or less run by the Exchange and Czerka, and the latter was engulfed in civil war. A planet firmly under the Republic's control would likely leave the player too little to do.

Which Boss is Most Badass?
Iseo Tiakan replied to AlaricQelDroma's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The tank droid was killer the first time I played through. He killed me about ten times before I lost my patience and just had my whole party volley grenades at him. Second playthrough, though, no problem at all. The Twin Suns and Goto's yacht were both tough, especially since I did Nar Shaddaa first. The yacht's not so bad after the first big fight, but just getting past that was quite the challenge. I still can't seem to beat the five Handmaidens. -
Visas is a bad call. Sure, she's cute and all, but she'd be the girl who leaves 10 messages on your machine while you're out to lunch. Every day. For months. Brianna, on the other hand, is a winner. Practical, capable, and probably in better shape than anyone else in your party. She can take care of herself and then some, and she's laid-back enough that she won't fall apart if she's not with you for a few hours. Yeah, she's a little naive, but she'll grow out of it. And yeah, she's got the jealousy thing going on, but really, why would you need to pay attention to anyone else?

Well, I'm sold. That's something only the dark-siders have to worry about.
