NG+ should be basically a boss run. Alternatively you can use bonfire ascetics to get the new items from some of the bosses. As for not being able to see summon signs, maybe you have been softbanned. Check out the bridge at Irion Keep. If you still see some signs everything should be fine.

I would be looking for a Divinity: Original Sin or Borderlands 2 co-op run, preferable EU time zone. During the week I can only play 1 or 2 hours.

I'm playing it right now. It doesn't match Dark Souls, but it's fun so far. I really like the level design. Art desgin reminds me of Diablo 3 and Warhammer. Combat is ok, but the boss design isn't that good. I haven't experienced any major bugs so far, but the performance on my PC isn't that good.

Finally... Dark Souls From GFWL To Steam

So you joined the Company of Champions covenant. Yeah, joining that covenant prevents you to be summoned or summon other players into your world. I think leaving the Company of Champions should reset difficulty to normal (But I'm not sure of that). In order to play some coop you have to use either the small white sign soapstone or white sign soapstone. Place the soapstone before a boss fight or at a bonfire and wait until you get summoned. Online play also depends on your soul memory. You and the other player have to be in the same soul memory range.

Using Soul Appease is the easy way to kill the rats. Do you play online? The rat kings covenant pvp area are my favorite.

If you like the main game you should consider buying the DLC. Easily best level and boss design in Dark Souls 2. It's integrated into the game's normal progression and it does feel like you are being send on a quest by a certain character (only if you speak to him of course).

Have you played the first DLC? Basically they are all the same. But the second DLC has the best boss encounters in Dark Souls 2.

Actually, you just want to learn to dodge. Keep your equipment load at 70 % or less to have a proper roll by either raising the vitality stat or wearing light armor. Go for the Alva set (spend 15000 souls with Maughlin in Majula so he restocks his goods).

There is a bonfire at Heide's Tower of Flame right before the first Old Knight. It's on the right side.

You can skip The Pursuer until later, though you can find an armor with a fancy cape after beating him. To be fair, he is the hardest boss until Velstadt (if you skip the Belfry Gargoyles, who are optional).

Played Dark Souls 2 The Crown of the Old Iron King all the weekend. It has easily the best boss fights in the game. Fighting the Fume Knight and Sir Alonne in coop was pure fun.

Awesome boss fights are awesome...

There is still the addon and I wouldn't mind some DLC (FONV or DS quality level). I hope they will be able to fund PoE2 themself and use the Eternity Engine for a second Kickstarter with a different setting.
