  1. He shoots.... he scores! That's what I'm talking about. There is hope. Yeah, I liked that as well. It's great that Obsidian can let the epic thing drop for a game and just immerse the player. The format also sounds like one which is relatively easy to modify and build upon, especially if they have a modifiable trade economy. Modders could build new areas and with some twisting add them to the main game and create map locations for them. Pretty much like BG 2 mods did it.
  2. I doubt Liquid Entertainment cares much for Diablo 3 since their target audience is the one that gobbled up Mass Effect. Just like ME, Argonauts is so character-driven that it's hardly an rpg anymore. As for Ascaron, they have held strong with just the European market for half a decade now, I doubt they'll **** their pants yet.
  3. Can I do the facepalm now? Can I?! Please? Ok, ok, coming.... *FACEPALM*
  4. "'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go..."
  5. I gotta admit, I took a guess. I really have no idea over Opeth's crew, except that the frontman likes to watch Eurovision. Matt Uelmen - Harem
  6. Sorry Tale, I wasn't taking a shot at you or anything. BUT YOU HURT MY SENSITIVE SENSIBILITIES Anyways, Sanctuary isn't the end of all fantasy worlds, it's just a very fair attempt in genre that doesn't exactly boast with its great storytelling and I respect that. Ironically, much like that other game series I mentioned, Diablo devs always had a problem with story presentation, despite there being depth in the lore. And I so would like to have that job.
  7. Heck, I forgot about Neeson. I hope their vo budget is far larger this time, so despite the astronomical sum of hiring a popular actor, they might have enough money left to hire more than the 3 dudes and two women that was the Oblivion vo group. I mean, even Gothic 2 did better. Then again, Shivering Isles had some very decent vo with new people in tow. Perhaps there's hope.
  8. There's no announcement yet, no, but going by the speculation here and everywhere, it's pretty much guaranteed to be soon. I never understood why people who obviously are not into dungeon hacks even enter Diablo threads. You don't like it, it's mindless grind, there's no roleplaying or story, derpity da. We get it already. Please go kill the nth xvart in BG or something. As for the others, I always found Sanctuary fascinating and Blizzard's attempts to craft their own niche of a fantasy lore a fresh breath. Much like the Halo universe, the games don't delve too deep into it at surface level, but there's plenty to read and listen if you look for it and the series sports some of the most in-depth manuals in gaming history. There's been a couple of hacks that have just about outdid Diablo 2 with their gameplay, notably Titan Quest and Sacred Gold, but no one has even scratched the surface that was laid out over a decade ago with Tristram and the Sin War. The games also feature some of the best game ever. I'll be there on the release day. Almost a decade with these games is a bit too much to not be excited, despite Roper and guys taking a hike.
  9. Call of Duty 2 I got to the first tank parts. I played till the third save point. And I very nearly threw the mouse into a wall.
  10. Today I looked at the dirt from work that was under my nails and recalled the day my love spoke to me in five languages... And felt immensely content.
  11. Well, yes. Though there's a good amount of usable loot that you'll likely miss. I'm looking at you Metaspell Influence! Also, it's the likeliest place to get a Fireball scroll that early.
  12. Opeth - The Funeral Portrait Because sometimes, seriously, it's time to kick back and listen to Ackerfeld growl over prog metal.
  13. Not really a spoiler but he's got black blood in him from his encounter with that demon chick. I read the manga up till like 47 or w/e they are at. Gogo loli medusa. You don't really need to read the manga to get any of that, they even said it two episodes ago. I actually referred to the the mangaka with "the guy". Could be a woman as well, but whatever. And as for Juuso's question: It's a pretty traditional shounen(debatable, but there's boobs and large weapons and freaking abingdon boys school) anime/manga whose only high points so far have been the nicely original art style that mixes saturated colours with very heavy shading and exaggeration, kinda reminiscent of GurLag actually; strong female lead(though she's not the titular main character); absolutely incredible animation thanks to BONES; ponytails(also well animated); nice combat choreography and the freakish cast that is just on the borderline between irksome and likeable. I'd also like to mention my favorite pro over other shonen - the VA is very fresh, the voice casting is great and I'm pretty sure this series will be a spring board to some future fan favorite seiyuus. And it's nice to hear a show without Gangut...Aluca...George Nakata for once. As for the story, it's a horrible blend of pretty much any action anime setting you can think(except cowboys and mecha future, thank god), I counted at least a Bleach-like spiritual metaworld, freaking pumpkin Halloweenland, overdone Gothic European(literally in every anime set in Europe), Cosa Nostra Italy, medieval Japan, medieval Europe, horror movie scenery, etc etc. And then they throw super-powered kinds in there to fight demons, mobsters, demon mobsters, teachers turned zombies, zombies turned teachers(no, seriously), witches, cats, cat witches(I'm really not making this up), French assassins, biker gangs, more demons and demonic witches. So...yeah. There's also friendly bonding, themes of truth, some anger over giving up, school comedy, evil god about to be born, all in all very basic shounen stuff - heck, anime stuff in general. The strength is perhaps in someone actually getting all this crap together and managing to make it NOT SUCK. It's as if someone took freaking Baccano!, fed some Rurouni Kenshin and Bleach to it, kicked the corpulent and seething mass of metaphysical flesh into a pit of leftover GAINAX art style and gave everyone magical scythes. In hindsight, that sounds ****ing awesome!
  14. Well, damn. Just when I was starting to get the characters in Soul Eater, the author picks up the pace. Now there main character is seeings dreams where a midget imp in a suit dances to cheesy jazz in a garish room with massive red curtains. I mean, how freaking obvious can a reference be? I don't know what is wrong with the guy, but I'm loving it.
  15. There goes true nitpicking. See you around!
  16. I didn't know "A Boy and His Dog" was actually an inspiration for the devs. Sounds like they actually have an inkling for what kind of mood to go for. Unlike Inon Zur.
  17. You like being so weak that it's possible to die after being attacked by a kitten? In freaking Chult? Nevermind the kittens, it's freaking Jurassic Park there, except for the supernatural bipedal cat people tribes that assault you by leaping down from trees with their fangs bared. If you ask me, I'd like a challenge that doesn't include house cats, but tabaxi instead. And that scenario can't be tackled with zero level rookies.
  18. And I'm so tapping that corpse I share Nick and Llyr's sentiments on co-op gaming, so it's obvious what is my preferred gaming platform.
  19. Amplifier - Motorhead I'm forever in debt to samm for introducing me to this band. My hope for modern rock returned. It's also very awesome.
  20. Larsec with Elsa Persson! The doom remix project is the best thing to come out of OCRemix. Well, actually the only good thing. Unless you are a sucker for samba about hedgehogs and cyborgs. Prophecy - Iron Cathedral I recently played the Live Arcade Doom rerelease and played each remix in their respective levels. It was all rather smashing and awesome. Up until that Lost Soul mayhem in campaign 3 that will drive anyone insane. Especially on above Hurt me Plenty. Now, if you are just a sucker for gothic(because that song is nothing except) then I'm sorry for the tiring tirade.
  21. That means I know how to spent that next tenner. Thanks, Cal! Great news is that I mayhap can run it on full settings, unlike certain other fps.
  22. I so want to play that game, but time and money does not permit yet. Your char looks cool, Ros. How's the game?
