BG3
There's some kind of default "holding onto things" way they carry stuff it defaults to sometimes. My Bard sometimes swings her lute around by the neck of the thing. The 50 lockpick kits in my inventory also say they don't get spent.

Overwatch 2 is out on steam, and getting review bombed hard. I guess people are enjoying the opportunity to provide public feedback to Blizzard.

I respecced my companions ability scores, but otherwise kept them the same. Wyll's scores are the most stupid. He's supposed to be some kind of sword expert, but has Str 9 Dex 12.

Would still be a pretty weak reason to call it a sequel. But I guess that's what we're getting.

Been using that, still often unclear.

35h in. Things that annoy me so far: - Jumping. This was much better done in Solasta. - Combat/ability/item UI. Ditto, better done in Solasta. - Inventory UI. Better done in PF:WotR. - Environmental effects and the imprecise character control. Constantly walking into fire, traps, toxic clouds, etc. Just lost a fight because I clicked to make a melee attacks, turns out character was 1mm too far, decided to take a detour through lava. - Destructible "sturdy" walls that give no indication of what stuff damages them. And sometimes the same attack does damage, sometimes not. Still a good game though.

I have no idea why BG3 turned out to be such a big thing. It doesn't do things that differently from other RPGs like PoE or the PF ones. Better graphics, yes. Besides that (and the nakedness), the only thing it does differently is the large number of options based on class, skill, spells, etc. Which is great, but to me it still doesn't explain the popularity.

The game looks pretty finished to me, in other aspects. Still in Act 1 though.

Doubt it. All the bad things about the UI I've seen people talk about, it's always been "it was like that in DOS2 too". So I think most of that stuff is here to stay.

No. If you click on it skips the animation though, so it's a bit faster. That same interface lets you use spells etc abilities to modify the roll though, so later on it's reasonable to have it.

My understanding of Shadowheart is that it's a fake name, since she's had some of her memories erased. If that's not the case, then it's kinda stupid.

Regarding the SSD requirement, I assume it's just the usual thing with requirements, as in that's what they tested it for and what they will fix performance for. If you can get it working on a HDD, good on you, but they won't guarantee it.

Yeah yeah, but what kind of genitals does he have?

I have an older processor but over the recommended otherwise, seems to running fine so far. Some framedrops so not super smooth, but I'm also very abusive towards games, alt-tab a lot and have forced it to recover from sleep mode.

According to Larian, having a game in EA on Steam means you can't shut down the EA and set it for preload. So everyone is loading the files at the same time.

We can have a thread about BG3, can we? So, umm, it's out, if you didn't notice. Early reviews seem to be positive. Someone rushed through and said he didn't encounter many bugs. Also:

What are you Playing Now? - What doesn't kill you, gives you XP
I played BG3 EA just last week, and unless they massively change things about the early game, there's a good bunch of it that's pretty bug free.

No real spoilers, just reddit's tag. BG3 related.

I just finished Return of Obra Dinn, and while a great game, it has some annoying achievements that require you to re-play the game in a stupid way. So yeah, great achievement design is fun.

TL;DR: Creators of Solasta consider it done, and are moving to their next game. They have a survey where you can voice your opinions about what you want them to do. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1096530/view/3647404008471280877?l=english
