  1. go to gamefaqs.com. Look for a guide by DSimpson. I've always found his guids to be the best. He's written excellent guids for Baldur's Gate 2 and even Planescape:Torment. he even goes through all the influence and dark side shifts! You can't ask for a better guide. Now I've completed the game without looking at any spoilers (event though I screwed up and failed one of the math puzzles). I'm using his guide to get me through a second time. Yeah I should be able to gain influence myself. But I just can't seem to do it. I had no idea you had to have certain NPC's for certain "events" to gain influence. I had no idea you could convert anybody to a Jedi. All I got out of Bua-Dur was- need anything general? Then I click nothing. There were no dialogue options for him. Somehow I screwed up with him big time. Of course I"m playing darkside, so I don't know how I'll do with him. Influence is the biggest problem I'm having with this game, that's why the guide is good. Though my game doesn't like me minimizing it to check the guide. It causes slow downs. I'm saved it to notepad, and I'll use that instead of Firefox browser (notepad uses less ram). But I think the slowdown problem will continue if I minimize the screen. If I had a printer, I guess I could print it out. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/file/s..._kotor_ii_a.txt
  2. I have another question, don't flame me here. I may have missed the dialogue (god forbid) How did the sith lord with all the scares (Sion I think?) escape Peragus mining facility if it blew up?
  3. I read that armour AC penalty only affects AC, not to hit rolls. So if you wanted, you could still put points into Dext for Mandalore and use him as a ranged attacker. But I find he works well as a melee specialist. You are seriously underrated some of the non light saber melee weapons in this game. True, they will never do as much damage as a light saber, but I find melee works better than ranged attacks either way.
  4. I guess I'm a whiner then. This is the perfect game, and I just don't realize it. See my avater, I'm not some console boy. I know how to play role playing games. I know how a good one is supposed to be. yeah I can hear it now. You are going to tell me to go back to fallout. I'm not saying this is a bad game. But it's obvious they left some stuff out at the ending. Yet you say everything is there! What's the point of showing the scene of Mira killing the wookie? yeah I realize it finished that plot point off. But it was done poorly if you ask me. All I was doing was asking a question in the spoilers forum expecting answers, not to be insulted.
  5. this is all explained through dialogue this is all explained through dialogue if you actually talk to him hell tell you his entire backstory, which answers what youre asking. im wondering if you actually paid attention to the dialogue at all, or even bothered speaking to your party members and/or npcs you came across. every single thing you "dont understand" was explained at some point during the game. score another one up to someone complaining about something being "broken" or "incomplete", even though they just didnt figure it out. i know this game has problems, but my god i wish people wouldnt complain about things that are THEIR fault, not the games. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> whatever. All Atton talks about is Pazaak, and I never got any negative influence with him. There was one time I got something to talk about after some people knew him on that refugee place, but I got influence failure. Even after never getting any loss of influence from him. Are you saying this game is complete? You are high.
  6. It's simple, you thrust your saber into the stone center column. It's gone. deal with it.
  7. Wait, you've managed to get PS:T running on a modern machine? Tell me how, I haven't been able to play that game for years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It runs great on my machine. Athalong 2600 +, 512 megs of ram, and a Radeon 9600 XT video card, and audigy2 soundcard. I'm in the middile of a game right now playing an evil charcter. I don't play that often. It's never been one of my favourite games, I couldn't get into it like BG2. I only finished it once. But I do want to finish my evil character game.
  8. yeah, how is that a spoiler? I finished the game, and didn't see him or his stupid son.
  9. I finished the game and had no idea you can do this. And romances have always confused me (as in real life). I don't think I could get a romance working in any game I have ever played (except Baldur's Gate 2- and I used a guide to make sure I didn't say the wrong things- if only I could do that in real life...). How do I convert my guys and girls to jedis? I had no idea you could do any of this stuff. and gaining influence is a bitch and a half. one mintue I gain, the next I lose.
  10. ??? I didn't run into any of the bugs on the original post. most of mine were graphical issues. a few slowdowns (but only after about 5hours of play- I just exit and restart the game). a few skipped dialogues, and one looping dialogue. I didn't notice any other problems (aside from the plot falling apart in the end). Yes I do blame them for not finished the product. The first 3/4 of the game is fantastic, and then the ending. bleh. note: I did not try swoop racing, so I'm not sure if there are any problems with that.
  11. wow, so many votes for being better than the original. I liked the original better. It was a little more challenging (especially in the early going on Taris). And didn't have a screwed up ending. The writing in the sith lords makes no sense. They ran out of time and left many plots out at the end.
  12. ??? were you playing darkside? I never fought those girls.
  13. I agree it was too easy for most of it. I played a guardian/weapon master as well. I ended up with a 39 strength (not including stims and force powers) But I did find the final battle challenging. I couldn't beat it (I won't spoil the identity). I had to lower the difficulty down to normal to win the game. And there is a greater version of that beast on that final planet that killed me once. He dishes out 250 damage in one hit on the difficult level. The only other areas I found challenging are where you are forced to use other characters and you can't use yourself (those annoy me). Like using Mira. She uses ranged weapons (though I suppose I could give her finesse and have her use a blade, but I never bothered) and faces primarily melee opponents. Needless to say, I did a lot of running.
  14. and what's up with Atton? Why is he a murderer? they never explained that. note: I did see in the cut-scenes thread some explanation of Atton being a murderer, but that doesn't make sense. sometimes I think they tried to put too many plot twists and turns in the game. When things like that happen, and you run out of time. Well you know what happens.
  15. damn this sucks. I suggest us PC users band together and demand they put this into a patch. . It's be a long shot (and a very large patch). I'm mad the ending isn't what it was supposed to be.
  16. Cant answer, wrong forum You should look up Mandalore in the spoiler forum for his full story <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for putting a spoiler in your title. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I suspected as much since they have the same voice.
  17. There's a brown droid by the door to the ebon hawk. You need to access his computer and download a program called "shut down". You'll also need to use the console in the Exile's holding room to get the codes for the power system. Then go to the bridge, transfer all the systems to the secondary power source at the right terminal, and then use the left terminal to upload the shutdown program, gain access to the power system, and run the program on it. The door will open for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> out of curiousity was this droid there when you start the level? I hate to think I did things the hard way for nothing. It would have been nice to shuts some things off. I chose to do it with Mira and Handmaiden. Some of those areas were tough, I was taking a beating. I didn't want to waste all my medpaks, so often I just waited for my hp to heal naturally
  18. your kidding right, I could do far, far more damage with my light saber crystal than with 2 melee weapons.
  19. I'd have to check. I think it exceeded 50 on the high end. The highest damage I have dealt was 184. That was a critical hit with power attack on. My strength was 39 in the end with all my equipment. this wasn't including force power or stimulant buffs. And that damage of 184 I did, was without force power or stimulant buffs. I rarely used them. I found the game too easy as it is (though the final battle gave me trouble).
  20. and why does goto keep you prisoner if he wants you to save the republic? there are so many plot devices I don't understand And they act like my character committed an atrocity on Malachor V. I thought I just defeated the Mandolorians there. I didn't think I killed any civilians there. I don't understand any of that.
  21. thank goodness I found this thread. It just isn't me. And this better not be resolved in KOTOR3, it better be resolved in a patch. (sorry X-box guys ) I can't find a mad smilie on these forums- what kind of censorship is that? . I am mad the ending is screwed up on this game. I want to like Obsidian, because I loved Black Isle studios, but if they continue to do this crap, don't expect me to continue buying their games. They better not mess up Neverwinter Nights 2. I agree, after the meeding on Dantoine, it's very rushed. I never even heard of the Ravager, I never got any of the backstory on it. All the sudden, people are talking about the ravager, like I should know what it is. I still don't understand what happens with Atris. And GOTO and that little droid? WTH? and was there a movie, or was it just the ship flying off? Who was flying the ship? how did it surive that fall? what's happening! *pulls hair out*
  22. oh thanks, I was about to throw my pc out of the window <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah look around. It will even be marked on the map as a clue where to look for something "explosive"
  23. I never even broke into the storage room and I got them angered at me. did you go down below to where the refugess are. go ahead and kill the exhange. they are a-holes anyways.
  24. I've gotten it to work on my ATI 9600 XT card using 4.11 catalyst drivers on my athalon 2600+ machine with 512 megs of ram running windows XP pro (without SP2) and an Audigy 2 card. And I just beaten the game an hour ago. . I'm happy. I've had glitches. I've had 2 quests that did not clear off properly. The one about improving relations with jedi on Dantooine, and another about the docking rings on Jar-Shaldaa (I can't spell or even prounce that planet's name- sorry). I've had dialogue glitches, and I have had problems with the game slowing down after about 5 hours of play (I'm still not sure if it's the movies causing this). So I usually restart to prevent suttering in the dialogue. I also have a problem (I think) that movies seem to be of poor quality. Maybe they are supposed to be that way. The graphics quality doesn't seem to be top notch. I can only think of one dialogue loop. when I return to dantoine after being there previously, that one lady who asks for you to look for the missing scavangers asks you to look for them again. Other than that, the game is playable and fun. I still like KOTOR1 a little better. I felt there were plot holes and writing errors, but maybe there are answers to those questions. Like what happens to the GOTO and that little bitty droid on the final planet (I won't spoil the name here)? I was under the impression that GOTO was going to stop the destruction of the planet.
  25. runs on mine, and I'm having a lot of fun playing the game. P.S. and I didn't have to make any adjustments to my drivers or my settings. It just so happens, I'm lazy and never update my drivers. I'm still using 4.11 drivers. In fact, I rarely update drivers. I alway say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. My games all run good with 4.11 (except morrowind which has ctd issues, but I don't think that is a video driver problem) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I read somewhere that 4.11 has a problem with the starting video. Guess you didn't experience any issues there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> strangely, now issues with the beginning movies for the logos (unless there's some other starting video that isn't even coming up?). I just mouse click to skip those.
