  1. Kuuu... Okay, I voted for Carth/Revan...because I love Carth, and am biased But to be honest, it was a difficult decision. Playing through as a Male Revan and the romance with Bastila was fun, but it didn't hold that angsty feel that 'Across the Stars' triggers from me. After playing DS with my F Revan, I just had to go with Carth/Revan. That ending was angsty. It was a tough call between Revan/Bastila, Carth/Revan and Anakin/Padme...because frankly, I love all three pairings, and I love the song. Good poll, by the way.
  2. Whoo, it's been a while WARNING: For those of you who don't like to read, this is longer than other posts. That's assuming you want to read the whole thing There's no hate list here...I can't hate a bunch of pixels with flapping lips and a voice--not like they took my lunch money or anything. Just from 'liked', 'so-so', to 'no-interest' categories. No interest doesn't mean I hate them...I just don't like them. It means that they really didn't spice up my experience, regardless of their presence in my party. From KotOR: Liked: Carth - I thought his 'pick-up' lines were better than Disciple's or Atton's frankly. His emotional rollercoaster was actually very interesting, fun and sometimes frustrating for me. Despite this, it was realistically portrayed to me and I would have it no other way. Relationships aren't all gold, you know. Bastila - I've never played through as a Male PC (as of yet) and I still manage to like Bastila's character. Her lectures were indeed repetative and perhaps even irritating--but it was fun poking fun at her and watching her character slowly become less righteous than she was painted up to be. Jolee - Do I really need to explain? He's just all out funny, but he knows when to cut the jokes too. He has this deep philisophical character about him that I enjoy so much. He's very interesting to talk to, if you're interested in analogies and history. Canderous - I liked his character a lot. As with all of the characters (except the droids and Jolee) there is a change in character--the individuals begin to question their behaviors. Canderous becomes sentimental near end of his plot arc. Something that is unbecoming of a war veteran such as he. Very neat growth. Mission - Spunky, and very adorable. I didn't find her character annoying in the least. She's funny too, if you use her to help you out on the Leviathan. Juhani - I actually liked her character, too. The struggle for light and/or dark was apparent in her character over the others, and I admire her ability to continue on her walk of light, considering her strong bouts of anger. HK-47 - Downright great. I turned to him when I needed a good laugh. So-so: Zaalbar - He doesn't say much until you reach his sidequest--and after you complete it, he speaks a little more with you. Then that's it. He could've been more interesting had he more dialog options available. No interest: T3-M4 - sadly in the first game, he was the worst character in development. Other than opening the lock for the Sith base, this guy can cough up computer spikes and well...that's about it really... KOTOR II Liked: Kreia - yes she was a manipulative screwball, but her character was intriguing. I could easily lose myself in her constant ramblings, and she had so much to say that I never became bored with her. (except on twice or thrice playthroughs...) T3-M4 - His character had grown so much from the first installment. I actually enjoyed chatting with him this time around. Visas - Despite the whole 'my life for yours' sermon, I actually liked what little history I could wring out of her. Her voice acting was excellent, as a plus. I just wished she would develop her feelings a bit more over a span of time, and tell us more about her past. I liked her mysterious aura, though. HK-47 - Although not as entertaining as in the first, he was still one of my favorites. Handmaiden - She's an excellent fighter. Though, the 'Atris says,' line was uncalled for in truth. It reminded me of Bastila--but it was worse because it was a non-Jedi trying to right you! Putting that aside, her story was interesting, and I liked her humanistic jealousy towards Visas concerning the Exile. Mira - I really liked her independence, but I didn't care for her 'lone star' stunt at Nar Shadaa. I like the ability that when need be, she can take care of herself. Her hints at handling men are pretty nifty, too. So-so: Bao-Dur - I really would have liked to have divulged into more history with him in regards to the evident 'relation' he and the Exile had during the wars. Unfortunately, his dialogue options are exhausted far too quickly. Rendering him a mute for most part of the game. Disciple - His character was really involved in history. Perhaps too much. It was also sad that his devotion to the Exile is immediate at the start--like all of the romance options available in game. His history didn't gnaw at my curiosity either. Mandalore - Sad that his character was *really* undeveloped in this game, but I still liked his no-nonsense attitude and his leadership ability. That was good to see. Atton - He started out well with me at first. The comments he made were somewhat funny, and he had a certain, rugged charm I guess. But then things went downhill. The way he acted up when asked about his Echani stance was weird really...and his transformation from 'Anti-Jedi' to 'I wanna be a Jedi!' was abrupt and...also strange. His sad cracks at humor made up for it--kind of. No interest: G0-T0 - His voice acting was great, and his motivations were rational...but he didn't provide me with much of a conversation. He didn't exactly pique my interest when I first saw him--and he took up space. I can't say whether I like Hanharr's character or not as I have not tried to recruit him into my crew. But he's a wookie with a strange hate for humans and life-debts...I hope his backstory is good.
  3. Atton didn't have any zingers that were compatible to Carth's and yes, I am biased. It's a real tough call for me between HK and Jolee, but I have to give Jolee the edge over HK - I love his sarcastic remarks. He's a nice counterbalance to the other Jedi aboard the Ebon Hawk. Like on Korriban when you take him along as your slave = priceless.
  4. Revan (M): Jinn-Tu Rahn Revan (F): Alyva Qorbin Exile (F): Miat Korr Exile (M): Verad Jobett I haven't really made a variation depending on alingment, though. Maybe I should give it a try sometime
  5. Aww, so cute. It's nice to see Atris in a more positive light rather than her hissy fit character in game. hohohoho, master Kavar with no sleeves! Nice work as always Aimo.
  6. Too bad there's not an all of the above option Because frankly, I love all of them men that were listed in the poll... Except Jolee...he is more of a father figure to me. I loved his funny remarks though.
  7. lol, well it looks like Atton's in the lead, though... er, heh I wonder who cast that one vote for Carth... " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, I picked Carth. Atton's funny, but you really don't get to share those Han/Leia type jabs with him like you do with Carth. I just wish I could pick them all...cause they were all cool ~ maybe with the exception of Disciple. Wish he his hair wasn't so ...flat
  8. Only three? Hmm, I liked Kavar's voice too. His character and that voice provided me with the image of a very wise, collected individual. Kudos! (Actually...I suppose the voices of all of the Masters were well done...) I liked Visas Marrs actress too. Kelly Hu definately knows how to work the emotional scale when reading simple dialog lines. I loved how Visas could become so distant and then so in depth when she talked about her past with you. Her little scene involving the M Exile at the end was also priceless. Sion. He was just creepy enough to fill the role. His scottish accent was clear through his speech too. Mandalore - I've only seen one other comment on John Cygan - but I was sure as glad as hell to have John back. I always loved the way he portrayed Canderous. HK - He'll always be a favorite in my book. And finally, Darth Nihilius. Although we weren't able to understand his Sith dialect, I just found it to be the coolest thing ever (along w/ Sion of course). The rest of the respective voice actresses/actors were really good too. Just thought these guys deserved some more recognition though. And yes, Zherrgon (sp) had a cool voice too. Kinda creeped me out, but I liked that he was able to have that kind of effect on me.
  9. There are a number of ways to gain influence with Atton When aboard the Harbinger, Kreia will get a little impatient with your PC and say 'Our enemies gather while we wait here' then you are left with the options to say 'Just thinking Atton's plan was pretty solid' (or something along those lines) and you'll get influence. Then, as you're running to the fuel line, Atton says his 'I've got a bad feeling' - just take note of his instinct such as 'Alright we'll have to move along more carefully then' and you'll gain influence On Nar Shadaa, should you rescue the girl from being sold to the Hutts (and talk to Saquesh about her release) you'll get influence and LS points. Many number of ways to get influence should you play as a LS Exile. Though should you want to turn him into a Jedi Sith critter, I suggest you look at the Dark-Side hit list. It gains influence with basically all of the DS aligned characters (HK, Mandalore, Visas, Hanharr) and for some reason, Atton as well. Anyway, here goes: Lasavvou - Nar Shaddaa Lootra - Nar Shaddaa Tarn (Mechanic near the Docks) - Dantooine Saedhe - Dantooine Exchange Receptionist - Telos Man in Apartment - Telos Czerka Scavenger - Telos Military Base Tarn, Mechanic - Dantooine dock Akkere, Sullustan Droid Merchant - Dantooine, near Khoonda Jorran - Dantooine, Enclave Sublevel Aliens without a Captain - Nar Shaddaa Flophouse Wounded Onderon Soldier - Telos (Under Attack) hope that helps
  10. FEATURES um, I'm actually perfectly fine with the feats available to you in TSL. They were very neat and I enjoyed them. If the devs want to add a few more feats, then by all means go for it. But, even if they don't it wouldn't bother me in the least -- that is of course assuming I would still have my feat list available to me in the third game PLANETS I think Coruscant is a must-see. It's been mentioned in both games and I would actually like the real deal. some Sith worlds would be neat, too. Heh, can't offer much else to the planets division because I lack much of an imagination when it comes to setting. CHARACTERS To see some returning characters would be really neat in my book. Such as...(depending on your alignment) Jolee Bindo Carth Onasi Bastila Shan Juhani HK-47 and/or T3 Mission and/or Zalbaar Mira Atton Visas Disciple/Handmaiden Mandalore - it would be a real treat to see these guys again. But some new characters would also be cool. Maybe an integrated party of old NPC with new NPC ~ oh and, don't scrap T3 or the wookies - they're cool PLOT No surprises needed here, but if the devs wish to have it then go for it. But I would like the plot to involve more of Revan/Exile's journies through the Outer Rim rather than a new PC running around. The open ended ending for TSL is left as a toss up for many ideas. But, Revan I feel was given another quest/journey to complete as it was originally s/he who had set out to confront the Sith and Exile joined soon there after. I would just like them to close the stories of Exile and Revan through their hands on view. Something I feel would be sacrificed should there be another PC - either gameplay or storyline (for me at least anyway). ITEMS Some new and unique robes would be neat. I think that if you should come across 'famous x's' robes that they shouldn't look like all the rest that you have and have a slightly better defense than yours. I think they should look like nothing you've ever seen before and uniquely set apart from the customary robes of the Order and the Sith. Also, some Jedi armor would be a neat addition too. Whelp, that's my two bits.
  11. I don't think Atton was the contracter that Coorta would've picked had he've sold the Exile. Atton I think was locked up before the Exile was stranded on Peragus. The Exile was there for three days before the whole mining organics enchilada spilled out. People can live I think only for three days without water...and longer without food. So, yes I am lead to believe that Atton was there and locked up before the Exile even got to the scene. Besides, it was some form of regulation. I don't think selling a Jedi to the Exchange would bust a regulation, as I doubt many Jedi (if any) would visit Peragus. As to why he was there..., he might have caused some trouble on Nar Shadaa (as he seems to have a knack for) and could've been stowing away on a less inhabited planet. Because from what Atton says about Nar Shadaa when you visit it, he seems to adore the place. He was there after the wars and if it was so grand, should've stayed there. But, as I said above I think he got into a spot of trouble and took off. And as is customary when running for your life, you tend to bring a weapon. Now I think he went to Peragus because it is technically in the middle of nowhere (except near Telos...but there are the TSF [Telos Security Force]). And there are no physical sightings of any real law enforcement there. But as you know, (if you talked to Atton about it) regular blasters aren't allowed onto Peragus. Mining lasers are the only thing that you're allowed to have on Peragus in regards to a heated weapon. Besides, how else would Atton know so much about the blaster law there unless he had already been busted for it? my piece of pie ~ hope this may prove for a more believable instance of his being locked up.
  12. Very neat. Glad that you picked up on that Muad'Dib - I guess I'm just too dense to catch on to these things...or I never remember. I also heard (not from in game though) that Revan will definately be coming back. I think it was something in relation to an interview had with Avellone in regards to KII, and the topic of Revan was brought up. Chris, being clever said that 'Revan's fate would be revealled...after you play TSL' <-- I think, but no dares that this is true. I'll have to find the source again to make sure. But yes, once again, to what extent? Hmm, anyway, thanks for the heads up Muad, that made my day
  13. Atton I don't think ever really addresses that question. He just says he was imprisoned for some trumped up regulation or another. Mm, knowing Atton it was probably for sexually harassing the administrator's wife or getting kinky with the ladies. Sorry that I couldn't be of further assistance
  14. Er, some of you have pointed out some problems with playing as Revan again as the main PC. Such as level deterioration, naming, etc. I just thought I would add my two cents to the matter. 1) Swindeling down to level one again really shouldn't be much of an issue, IMHO. 2) Re-naming Revan? I think it is entirely plausible to play as Revan (not sure about the Exile) and not have a problem in reference to naming or re-naming him/her. My piece of pie
  15. Very nice. I am very thankful to have you on this board, continuing to supply us with really well composed mixes. Heh, now I might seem like a chump by asking you this but, would you be willing to do a mix with either Visas/Handmaiden or perhaps the one with Mandalore and Visas (on the Ravanger)? Much thanks for all the work you've done already. I've liked everyone you've done so far, keep up the great work.
  16. Oh, that one definately has my vote
  17. Hmm, thanks for the heads up. I also heard that (from an interview w/ Obsidian during KII's production) that Revan is definately coming back. I wonder if they mean that in by following in Revan's footsteps you follow, find Revan during half game and then continue as either Exile or Revan? Or new PC? Or, since Revan is just beginning to 'remember' what s/he did, that s/he is following in his/her own footsteps? Yargh, now I've confused meself.
  18. Thanks for the insight Fred - and each is intitled to their own opinion. But all in all, there are still flaws (IMO) either way for either a new PC or using Revan and/or the Exile in this final installment <---(or is it? ) It's been interesting and fun to see the different stands on this. Thanks all for giving me something to wrack my mind on - since you know, the school I attend doesn't give me that kind of mental challenge. But as two of you have said, all of this debating really doesn't affect how the third product will turn out We'll just have to wait, and see. Once again thanks for spicing up at least this past week - it was fun. cheers!
  19. All comments have proven to be very intersting. To each their own, you know. Some of your pro-new PC users have said that it would be easy to come up with a way to find a Force sensitive individual to take on the challenges and adventures in KIII (should it ever go into further development). But, I have to disagree. The Jedi from TSL went into hiding (and no, Exile is NOT the last remaining Jedi) for fear of the threat pressed upon them from Nihilius. Kreia I believe noted at the fact that Nihilius was very powerful and part of that power was also evident in the True Sith of the galaxy. The Jedi Masters hid because they did not understand the concept or the depth of Nihilius's power. If even the Jedi Masters would refuse to reveal themselves, why would a rookie apprentice/padawan take on the challenge even the wiser more powerful members would not? Revan and the Exile I believe have a better grasp of what they're dealing with. The Jedi Masters did not, so I doubt an apprentice would, either. Revan (I think) had an understanding of the True Sith as s/he dug deeper into the Sith teachings and lore (and from Malachor V). And Exile learns of their existence through Kreia (and also, I believe through Malachor). Where would the new PC learn of the True Sith threat? Also, to have a new PC would be rather unimaginative and boring. Although do not mistake me, having Exile and Revan would also be boring (to an extent). Because you're stuck with characters that you already know and the whole charade. But what I want to know is what makes having Revan and Exile as your PC so uninteresting? The fact that you may have to level them up again after working so many hours in on leveling them up to lvl 20? Or the fact that you cannot righfully claim them as 'yours' because they are custom characters? (given 'titles', etc.) Well, as you claim is the theme in the KOTOR games, you would still have to start out anew again with yet *another* character with perhaps yet *another* title. So, the character can never rightfully be yours because they will be given titles, despite what names you choose to give them. Some feedback on these questions would be cool. @ Saint: Thanks for your interesting opinions and ideas. I must say, they have been well thought out and are very intriguing. But when you say Revan was the most powerful of the Sith, I have to say I disagree. Revan was the most powerful of the Sith in the known galaxy. Beyond the Outer Rim - it's anyone's guess as to who or what lurks out there. Revan was as many have said, a tactician. Just because s/he went out to fight the Sith alone does not mean s/he believed him/herself to be the most powerful of the Jedi. I think it was because Revan had done much research in regards to the True Sith, and thought (naturally, as a tactician) that s/he could use their knowledge agianst them. The reason Revan wanted to keep the Republic strong was because I believe Revan had a sense of doubt that s/he would be able to defeat the Sith crawling in the outskirts of the galaxy. At the near end of the second game, Carth notes his concern for Revan's success as well. I think Revan could've very easily had his/her power stripped from him/her during his/her ventures - taking into note Nihilius's 'hunger' power ties with the ancient Sith (or True Sith). @ FreddaH: Thank you for your contribution, and it is always welcomed. A good discussion always proves for a good challenge. I also enjoyed the first two installments of KOTOR and find the open ending in KII to be both frustrating, and compelling. Compelling in the sense that Exile may yet be seen again in the third. I found it odd that none of the pro-new PC users here haven't pointed out how frustrating how open-ended the ending is for the second game. I mean, if Exile's story is not really given closure, wouldn't it be more difficult to implement a third PC into the mix? Why would the devs add another PC in the plot when one's adventure was never really finished and another's was again to be told? That would prove to make matters - complicated. You also stated that there would be a problem with a continuity issue. Was that in regards to the d20 system? If so, then I doubt continuity would be a problem. The Devs have been quite...imaginative for characters to become non-Force attuned before, I bet they would come up with a suitable backdrop story. Continuity I believe would be a problem if there was a new PC - thinking of *how* they could be integrated into the plot with Force sensitive abilities and how they could face the True Sith with such little practice of the Jedi ways and no understanding of the threat whatsoever. Also, as in the last two games, the PC had to be trained in the arts of the Jedi by a Master. Who would train the new PC? I don't believe Revan is a suitable character because it would be pretty damn lucky if the new PC ever crossed paths with Revan (not being in tune with the Force), and considering none of the other Jedi know where s/he has ventured to. Even so, I doubt Revan would take the time to train a PC, considering s/he would not take Bastila along, (who was all mighty with her Battle Meditation) is saying something. Revan needs someone who already understands the threat of these Sith. Not someone who hasn't a clue that they even exist and no training in the Order in any manor. Exile I think is that someone Revan needs. Because like Nihilius, the Exile has this 'hunger' ability and has a somewhat feeble grasp of the True Sith's power from experience at Malachor V (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Kriea said something about a taste of the True Sith's power dwelling there). I also find it difficult for a third person to decipher the actions of the Exile (LS or DS) - since the Exile is not a renown hero (or villain) such as Revan was and would not easily be discussed among commoners. And I don't think the devs would push the story off another five years or ten years - making Revan and Exile's journies something of folklore. But that would make an interesting story for another KOTOR I think that a first hand approach to concluding Revan's story would be more appropriate though. I found it interesting to see that second hand approach (through half of the game) in the first KOTOR, and that same view in the second game. But, in the first game, Revan actually got to 'relive' some of those events that s/he made during the reign as the Dark lord. But only briefly after the 'revelation' did Revan began to relive those events that s/he had taken a while ago. I think the same thing could be involved with KIII - if the devs so choose it. Revan was hinted at beginning to remeber things that s/he had done. So, in a sense, you would still be looking at Revan's story from a third perspective if you were to play as Revan - because your PC would not be able to recall everything that s/he had done in previous years. And as you travel along your journey, you begin to remeber what your PC did, little by little. (The devs made certain that Carth make note of this - Revan remembering things that s/he had done in the second game) @ Darth Credulous: Good point. It may prove hard to involve all of your previous PC's characteristics into the game. But the faces/portraits are already set up and unless the devs add a disguise to Revan (unique for each portrait), then I don't think the process will be too arduous. The alignment thing worked pretty well for the second game (most of the time - except in relation to female Revan...they couldn't seem to remember if Revan was a she or a he half of the time), so I doubt that would be much of a problem. Just think, a whole new set of portraits would take a while to develop if there were to be a new PC, and the alignment thing would still apply to the third PC if s/he was to go searching for Revan and the Exile - or whatever it is they would have planned for another PC if that was the case. Been fun responding to your points - and must say it took some extra time to think of how to respond. Kudos to you guys
  20. I agree. Too many chefs spoil the broth. I think that same instance can be used here in this situation. Not that I want to pick on those who are pro-new PC, you know, to each their own. But I would have to ask each of you this question. Since the KOTOR series has 'Force bonds' related in their overall plot, what or rather, who would be that bond for the third PC? I believe that Exile and Revan have a bond established already with each other, and to think of something for the third PC to have a bond to would take a lot of creativity and brain storming. Don't think the producers would have that much time to do it; if they want their game out before Christmas... To Saint: Your ideas for having the third PC be an apprentice of Revan were very interesting. But Revan only remained in the Republic for about a standard year (I believe) before s/he left to fight the 'True Sith'. During that time, I doubt there was enough time to take on an apprentice. After taking role of the Dark Master again, the only apprentice Revan would consider having I think would be Bastila. Because Revan knows Bastila's loyalty to him/her. I doubt Revan would want to suggest him/herself to an usurped rule should he/she take on another apprentice aside from Bastila. (Now in regards to LS ending) There might be an applicable situation for LS ending, but that wouldn't be open ended enough (imho). To have an apprentice available if Revan was LS but not DS is not giving you a lot of options to build your new character with. Besides, I'm pretty sure the DS Revan setting would not allow for an apprentice. In the holocron on Korriban, Bastila remains the only one loyal to Revan and his/her cause. The others disband. Although perhaps that idea could be suggested into another KOTOR game, after the True Sith are dealt with. Because, frankly I love your idea. I just don't think it could be implemented into the game without question. Where was the apprentice during the TSL wars? And, I think the apprentice would be sent to search for Revan more so than the Exile considering the apprentice would have more revent connectiosn with Revan than the Exile. Just from where I'm standing, that would make more logical sense. I just want to finish the saga with Revan. I thought that Revan's past and story had been addressed in KI. However, when KII was released, it stated that Revan had begun to remember things from his/her past that s/he had done. That leaves a whole 'nother part of Revan's story to be told. I would prefer having Revan tell his/her story over some third person's perspective of Revan's tale. And as Darth Nuke said, although Kreia was pivotal to the story in KII, I would rather not have Revan as the new step in Kreia. Revan is the center of attention in this whole adventure. Or so, that is what I am lead to perceive. I believe if the job of teacher belonged to anyone, it would be Jolee. Revan is enthralled in facing the Sith alone, and I don't believe s/he would willingly drag someone not Force sensitive to begin with, into the confrontation. And if Revan was to be the new mentor, it would be KII all over again, different characters different scenario - same ideas. AMEN. I am in total agreement with you. :: So smart, you are BTW, I had heard something in regards to the whole Mandalore/Visas conversation. Mandalore gets wounded on the Ravanger (I think) and Visas is healing him or something, and he starts to talk about Revan. I'm certain I've heard of this being mentioned before. But...I don't own the PC version - because I was weak and took the Xbox version...with all of its bugs and DREAFUL loading times, so I would not be able to confirm it or give your leads to find the file.
  21. I've been reading a lot of debating here, and am intrigued to write one of my own. So, here goes. As many of you have pointed out on this board, (I believe) a third PC would be silly. Some of you have stated that Exile's and Revan's respective journies have been completed. I don't believe that to be the case at all. In KOTOR II, they never really gave true closing to Exile's. Just a battered ship, sauntering off into the depths of space to search for Revan. And although Revan was given some closure to the first KOTOR, they've completey written that off in the second game. In fact, they decided to give Revan a whole new role: fighting the Sith threat that borders along the edge of the galaxy. So, Exile's in incomplete and Revan has yet another to tell. What would be the point in adding a third PC into the story? What would their role be in relation to Revan and the Exile? Some of your argue that the point would be to finish Revan's and Exile's stories. But why have some schmo take the burdens the first two characters upon themselves to finish? Then, my question(s) that I pose to you would be this. What would be the point in having Exile (or Revan for that matter) go out and search for the True Sith only to have another person find them out and finish their quest for them? What the heck were Revan and Exile doing while this third PC is running around doing their thing? LA wouldn't be getting as much 'green nicotine' as they would hope for, if that were the scenario in KOTOR III. (imo) I don't think a background could establish another character as Force sensitive. In KOTOR II, the Jedi are near extinct and not many remain and are either in hiding or have forsaken the ways and code of the Jedi. To have some novice punk all of a sudden come in tune with the Force and go out searching for your previous PC's would be folly from where I'm standing. And why would any Jedi (who remained in hiding duirng TSL) sprout up now and take on the challenge posed by these "True Sith" when they would not even rise to aid the galaxy against the three Sith aligned against you in TSL? To those who turned from the code - they chose to turn from the code. Why return to something they willing turned from? The Exile is pardoned because s/he felt as though the Council exiled him/her and was unaware that it was a matter of choice - not a sentence (at least according to Disciple it was a matter of decision and not a verdict) And why have someone else do what was already comissioned to the Exile? To go out and find Revan (AND now, Exile). Is the Exile that incompetent? Bleh. Revan needs to finish the story newly appointed to him/her, and Exile needs to finish theirs. So my opinion for a third installment would be to have alterations between Revan and Exile on their journies (of course, after meeting up with each other). Perhaps some new party members and run-ins with old characters could be integrated in as your crew begins to grow/form in your perspective party. I believe the point of the KOTOR series is to develp the plot/storyline given, and character appointed to you at the beginning of your campaign. How would the third PC's character become developed accomplishing what Revan and Exile set out to do? (give me some insight, I'm really too tired to try and think this one out) Bah, thanks for your time to read my ho-hum ramblings. If these fail to make sense to you in any way, my apologies. I am half awake and trying to think - pretty dangerous combo there.
  22. Nyeh, not really. Only played through this game two times. But heck, if it helps, then loading all those save games wasn't a waste. Besides, it only took about ten minutes to write up...but now I have to finish concept art for the boss, before he goes mad.
  23. Um, just thought I would post some Disciple/Handmaiden influence charts and Mira and HK-47 influence charts (including places). Hope this helps. (In order: Disciple, HK-47, Mira, Handmaiden). It's a long post and a bit sloppy, but bear with me. And, I hope that these influence spots help out in your gameplay experience. (I also found that I was not able to get influence w/ Bao-dur after saving the Mandalorian [the first time], and the only other member I had in my party was Mira - and as far as I know, she is not affected by what you decide to do to the lone Mandalorian. Glitch, perhaps?) DISCIPLE What you Get: Disciple can become a Jedi Consular with a good Influence. And the ability to meditate with him and restore your Force points (when not engaged in combat) Lowdown: However his alignment looks, he likes the Republic and the Jedi, so in conversations all your responses need to be supportive of both. < NAR SHADDAA > - Docks - Takee Kreia and one other companion (Atton, Bao-Dur, Disciple or Handmaiden) and complete the Lootra quest to the Light Side, such that she is rescued. Return to Lootra with Kreia and the other person, Kreia gets mad, but doesn't lose influence. Keep defending your actions here, and say that "Say what you will, but if it meant your life, there is nothing I would not do... for you, or any of my allies." Disciple says "thanks" and you get influence. - Refugee Area - Convince Hussef, the refugee leader to give up to the Exchange (which requires that you also convince Nadaa to sell herself to slavery, and kill Geriel). Then tell him "I share your regret..." to gain some influence. < ONDERON > - Dxun - Find the Mandalorean trapped up on the ridge, help him down, then promise not to turn him in for influence. - Cantina - If you give one of your "Open" starport visas to the Republic spy, Xaart, Disciple will be impressed and give you Influence. - Merchant District - Give an open starport visa to Terlyn, the mother near the entrance to the starport for influence with Disciple. - Merchant District - Use Force Persuade to prevent Ponlar's riot in the town to gain influence with Disciple. \__________________________________________________________________/ HK-47 What you Get: Gaining Influence with HK-47 gives you numerous upgrades to your own stats and abilities, as he gives you the tips on "how to kill Jedi," which proves quite useful to you. Lowdown: HK-47 is the easiest companion to understand, and if you are playing Dark Side, the easiest to gain influence with. He responds favorably to every Murder you commit , as well as any violent and manipulative response you come up with. His conversation options don't give influence, except when you try to end the conversation the first time, he stops you, then you say: "The next person who prevents me from leaving when I say the conversation is over is going to die. Now let me go, or else." for positive influence. Every option that gains you influence with HK-47 is Dark Sided, except for the Onderon Checkpoint Guard [Force Persuade]. < DANTOOINE > - After leaving the Crystal Cave after meeting with Vrook the first time, talk with Azkul, hear his plan, then say that "I'm not interested" followed by "Die, mercenary scum!" (this line also loses influence with Kreia) - It's probably a glitch but there is one Light Sided way to gain Influence with HK-47. Showing compassion to Akkere on Dantooine, just as you might get Influence with T3-M4, also gets it with HK-47. What he says sounds like he disapproves, but the result is a gain. < ONDERON > - Dxun Jungle - Like Hanharr, if you kill the lost Mandalorian, HK-47 will be delighted. - When you instigate the riot in the Merchant Quarter by supporting Vaklu, HK-47 relishes in the carnage. - Docking Area - Use [Force Persuade] on the guard to get into the city, and say "It's inside a city, HK, otherwise..." to gain some easy influence. - Cantina - Like Hanharr, after meeting Master Kavar and being interrupted by Tobin's soldiers. Tell him to kill 'em all for some influence. < TELOS STATION (UNDER ATTACK) > - The wounded soldier that you find in the Telos Station Entertainment Module during the Sith attack gives you influence towards HK-47 if you provoke him to attack you and you kill him (instead of healing him and having you follow him). \__________________________________________________________________/ MIRA What you get: Get enough Influence and you can train her to be a Jedi Sentinel. Lowdown: Somewhat like Handmaiden and Bao-Dur in that good responses will | generally yield results that you want. The best way to get Influence with Mira is to get her to "argue" with you, but this requires an 11 Awareness. Ask about why she doesn't kill, follow the Awareness line and she argues with you, then shuts up. Follow up on that, and watch the Influence fly! < DANTOOINE > - Near Khoonda - Show compassion on Akkere, the sullustan droid merchant to gain influence with Mira. < ONDERON > - Merchant District - Approach Anda after siding with the General at the crowd, agree to help her remove the three guard captains and Mira will talk about it, then tell her that the credits are hard to ignore to gain influence. - Dxun - The bounty hunters that crash land and blame you, there should be an option that let's you say something about her being a real bounty hunter, she says she doesn't need your patronage but you get influence. - Cantina Area - the Twilek bounty hunter that attacks you talks trash to Mira. You can stick up for her with "I won't let you harm my friend" for influence. - Merchant District - When the riot on Onderon starts, if you decide to do not side with any group and just stand around watching npcs kill each other for cheap laughs, Mira will agree with your choice and give you more influence. \__________________________________________________________________/ HANDMAIDEN What you Get: You can get her to become a Jedi Guardian once you defeat her three times, and with a high Influence. You learn some pretty spiffy moves too. Lowdown: Handmaiden is a good person, and likes you to be good as well. That said, she has surprisingly few times when she comments on your actions. Most of her influence is won in conversation, and then you get the most by sparring with her and winning. She will also comment on Visas when she joins, however, you can only lose influence there, or stay neutral, there is no way to gain on that one. < DANTOOINE > - Crystal/Kinrath Cave - After finding Vrook in the cave (which happens after not finding him in the Enclave sublevel), leave the cave, listen to Azkul's offer and turn him down to gain Influence. < NAR SHADDAA> - Refugee Area - Heal the sick man, just like with Bao-Dur or Atton. This only triggers if both of the others are not present. - Main Area - Get rid of the Thugs hassling the guy who tells them that you have his credits, then let him go free. This gives some influence with Handmaiden. - Docks - Takee Kreia and one other companion (Atton, Bao-Dur, Disciple or Handmaiden) and complete the Lootra quest to the Light Side, such that she is rescued. Return to Lootra with Kreia and the other person, Kreia gets mad, but doesn't lose influence. Keep defending your actions here, and say that "Say what you will, but if it meant your life, there is nothing I would not do... for you, or any of my allies." Handmaiden says "thanks" and you get influence. < ONDERON > - Dxun Jungle - Like with Bao-Dur, save the Mandalorian at the permacrete ridge, then say that the war is over to gain Influence. This only triggers if both Bao-Dur and Atton are not present. - Cantina - If you give one of your "Open" starport visas to the Republic spy, Xaart, Handmaiden will be impressed and give you Influence. - Cantina - When the meeting with Kavar goes bust, Handmaiden will ask you to make sure not to harm anyone in the cantina. Agree with her for Influence. - Merchant District - Give an open starport visa to Terlyn, the mother near the entrance to the starport for influence with Handmaiden. - Merchant District - Use Force Persuade to prevent Ponlar's riot in the town to gain influence with Handmaiden.
  24. I believe you have to gain some more influence with him so that he may talk about his old master, Revan. Then, I think when you decide to end the conversation about Revan (after exhausting all dialog options that you can), he asks you if he could bother you for another question, and you are given the option to say 'if anyone else asks me a question to slow down my journey, I'll kill them.' - or something to that likeness. Then, he is absolutely pleased with your response and you gain influence. There is one spot that I've heard you can gain influence with HK and receive lightside points. I've haven't tried it yet, but it's on Dantooine. After you find the hydrospanner in the droid squadron in Khoonda, and talk to the owner of the item (make sure you have HK in your party) and spare him, HK will disapprove. But I hear you still get influence with him anyway. However, the most common way to gain influence is to do things that involve...killing everything. And yes, his definition of love is classic. Hope that helped a bit.
  25. Right, but does it affect what conversation options you can have with him? Does he talk about anything more than the Mandalorian wars?
