It's amazing to think that it has lived through every known kingdom of mankind. It is humbling, I think, to know that our lifespans are so short by comparison.

I liked the subdued look of Oerwinde's desktop. It's somehow dark and sinister.

One of my former students came up to me at the store the other day and talked to me for a bit. She complained because I hadn't shaved in the previous week. Generally, I'm the short haired, clean cut sort of fellow.

Okay, I moved the language discussion to "The Thread of Stupid Yet Neat Things" thread. It makes more sense there than in the hair color discussion at least. More on topic, I prefer dark, long hair, very fair skin, and dark eyes.

Doofus, Daedalus is Greek. The Romans use the word Daedalus, but Latin, especially as written today, uses a distinct A and E. Don't take it from a classicist. I see what you're saying, but my point is that you're not writing it in the original Greek anyhow, so what difference does it make? So, Daedalus is generally the way one sees the name written in modern works. Even modern works written in Latin, such the Aeneid. What all this has to do with brunettes is beyond me, except that Daedalus probably preferred brunettes also. EDIT: heh heh. "Modern works written in Latin" Okay, that is to say a modern publication of a Latin work.

I'd suggest using a hip flask, but that's probably a last resort. It won't help your computer, but it will help you not to care. Seriously, I'd start keeping running tabs on the temperature in your rig. I know mine runs hot, although I don't tend to get hangs or glitches. I'm running Arctic Silver and it seems to have helped keep things a bit cooler.

Please discuss hair color and not individual members... even my friend jodo. On topic, I've never understood how some guys worship redheads. I mean, a beautiful redhead is beautiful. That's all well and good, but it's not like red hair is all that and a bag of a chips.

No time to read the whole thread just now, but definitely Brunettes. However, beautiful is Beautiful. I tend to appreciate hotness where I can find it, regardless of hair color, race, ethnicity, etc.

The Voyage demo was okay (thanks mkreku) but I almost always have a hard time with demos. I mean, it's not a difficulty issue but rather that I can't become motivated. It's got some strange design decisions, though. I thought the news blurb idea was kind of good. Anyhow, I don't want to boggart the thread, even if I'm always looking for the next great adventure game.

While the vast majority of English words are derived from Latin or Greek, English remains a Germanic language. That's because the core vocabulary in English, the most common words in the language, are Germanic. Also, did you know that much of English grammar is intentionally patterned off of Latin grammar? That's why we have silly rules such as the prohibition against split infinitives. In Latin (and Greek) an infinitive is one word and cannot be split. To boldly go or to go boldly, that is the question.

Anyone can send me a picture to verify if it's okay. I'm probably the most prudish of the mods and I'll be discrete. If it's not okay, I'll say why and give suggestions as to what you could do to make it okay. We're pretty easy going in these fora, though, so common sense should be a good guide. Just a thought. I don't mind the fact that you've turned to baseball a bit. Still, if you want to have a longer baseball discussion, folks might go for that. We don't have a sports section in these fora, so it's simply a matter of creating a new thread. At any rate, I don't want the hard core NHL fans to get steamed if the baseball chatter takes over the thread. If no-one has a beef with it, I'm fine. If anyone finds it irksome, PM me and I'll create a baseball thread, move the posts, and never mention a single name.
