  1. Inversely, if you take the honorable route and tell the mercenaries that you won't help them, then Handmaiden compliments you on your response, even though she acknowledges that you might have agreed with the mercenaries only to deceive them. You gain influence for this.
  2. Find evidence of a fling, and I'll treat this as more than a troll. I'm finished with this subject.
  3. If she only ever gets involved with you, and she never chases after anyone else, then its not a bisexual relationship, is it? To be perfectly honest, its never entirely clear that she even does get involved with you. There's a scene with an implied degree of emotional attachment and possibly emotional intimacy between the Exile and Visas, but its never clear that your character even so much as hugs anyone throughout the course of the game. Even the scene I mentioned doesn't have anything suggesting physical intimacy.
  4. I don't think you ever get to talk to Revan. Revan as he is now does not exist in the game.
  5. I haven't seen the recorded sequence (I didn't do much with my repair skill, as it was one of my two cross class skills), so I can't really comment on that. It is, however, possible that he recognized Bastila in the cave because he wouldn't have seen her after he left with Revan and not later on. Since the entire cave sequence involves messing with the Exile's memories, Bastila in the cave would look exactly as he recalled her. Its possible that the Exile doesn't have a perfect recollection of her, and its also possible that she's changed somewhat between when she made the recording and when the Exile last saw her. Regardless, if the Exile had seen Bastila when the former spoke with Carth, its almost certain that Bastila would have been recognized. Carth specifically mentions his association with Revan, and Bastila is known to have accompanied Revan during the same time period. It would be child's play to put two and two together and figure out who she was.
  6. My own suspicion was that the HK-50 on the Harbringer was ostensibly trying to take you to Goto to claim the bounty (not working for Goto directly, but still attempting to earn the bounty reward). He has no idea that the next ship that docks with the station will be a Sith ship, even after its already docked. If all had gone according to HK-50's plan, you would have remained sedated until the rescue ship arrived, and HK-50 would have stowed you on-board that ship. The later HK-50s might be more aggressive because 1.) they're counting on your Jedi abilities to help you survive wounds that should kill you (similar to what the original HK-50 did both on the Harbringer and on Peragus), or 2.) there are hints at various points that nearly all of the bounty hunters are somehow being corrupted (the ex-bounty hunter on Nar Shadaa mentions that the corruption is the reason why he left the guild, and he specifically identifies Mira as the only hunter who hasn't started going that route), and even "bring them back alive" bounties are being treated as "dead or alive" by bounty hunters, with the hunters clearly leaning toward dead, or 3.) the HK-50s' mysterious creator might have something to do with the attitude toward you. You receive comments at times that point out that they droids have suddenly started coming out of hiding lately, and that no one knows the reason why.
  7. A quick note regarding Sion's awareness of your status - The recording of the captain discovering that something is wrong in the Medical section also includes Sion saying something to the effect of, "Bring me the Jedi." This suggests to me that he might have been aware of the presence of the Exile onboard the Harbringer (and Kreia's interest in him), as I doubt he'd use that term to refer to Kreia. One of the Kolto tanks is keyed to you (no doubt due to HK-50), so its possible that both of you might have been in Medical at the same time, and he might have seen you there.
  8. She's probably hiding in the shadows because she doesn't want to draw attention to herself, and she knows that Carth will ask any questions that need to be asked. Your character knows who she is, after all (the Exile recognizes her in the Malak sequence, although I understand that she only shows up if Revan is male), and would probably have a number of questions for her. She merely wants to keep her privacy. And we really don't know much about the link between the two, so its entirely possible that it doesn't work when there's a great distance between Revan and Bastila. Or the information she's receiving from it could be extremely vague.
  9. Uh... what? What makes you think that Bastila would be happy with him? My understanding is that Bastila only shows up if Revan was male, which suggests that she's present because of romantic involvement with Revan. Carth won't be "content" with Bastila because there won't be anything between the two of them. Carth, at the very least, is interested in Revan's fate because Revan was a friend.
  10. While I had a problem with the last fight (party consisted of Mira, Bao-Dur, and Visas), I also had a problem with the start of the sequence. According to the information I was given, it should have been possible to stealth up to the sensor. Unfortunately, even with a fairly high stealth skill, I was still unable to get anywhere close to the sensor without setting it off. I was finally just forced to select Mira and run her up to the sensor to shut it off (since she ignores mines) - and somehow managed to get it taken care of before the guards arrived. Was there a bug involved here?
  11. No, HK-50 explains it. He put you into storage, and then stole the Ebon Hawk, taking you with him.
  12. The Icewind Dale games weren't really aimed at the same area as Baldur's Gate, though. On the scale of RP interaction -> hack and slash, the scale at the time went roughly: PS Torment -> BG -> IWD -> Diablo II I liked the first IWD a lot, but I could never really get into the second game. I started it, got to roughly the end of the first chapter, and then stalled. Much later I restarted the game again, but didn't get nearly as far. I suspect it was a combination of my frustration over the spell scroll problem (couldn't seem to find anything that my spellcaster could learn), and the fact that it just seemed to take too long to actually reach my destination. Maybe things improved starting with the second chapter, but I never found out. I did greatly enjoy the first game, however, and picked up the expansion pack for it as well.
  13. I think I heard someone mention that even if you don't kill Carth in KotOR1, there's still the problem of how exactly he gets off-world and back out into the galaxy at large. And its less likely that Carth would be promoted to Admiral if Revan had gone bad again.
  14. I don't remember ever seeing anything that explained how Kreia actually got back into the Republic. The first conversation with her gave me the impression that she was on board the Harbringer, although her presence on the Ebon Hawk would explain why Sion was attacking it. I think later on, she mentions that she only found the Exile by accident, and the context suggests that she was on the Harbringer. Finally, the Harbringer brought the Ebon Hawk into the hanger after locating it. Its unlikely that the Harbringer's crew would leave a supposed corpse inside the ship. They'd either move it somewhere it could be stored, or dispose of it. So chances are that Kreia was another passenger on board the Harbringer. There's enough odd things about the start of the game that I never got overly concerned about just how she ended up playing dead on the floor of the Ebon Hawk. After all, HK-50 stole it, and he's locked in a storage closet. I suppose its possible that '50 decided to either investigate or cannabalize HK-47 (that's the same spot '47 is stored), and the door sealed behind '50. I don't recall Goto ever stating that the HK-50s work for the Exchange. He's aware of them, but he doesn't know where they came from or why they're suddenly roaming about causing trouble.
  15. While plot is indeed typically decided before all that much work starts on the game, due to time pressures, deadlines, etc..., elements of the plot can end up being trimmed or removed entirely due to time issues. One example would probably be the HK droid factory, which has already been identified as something that was removed from the game at the last minute.
  16. I didn't say all - I said most. Important distinction there.
  17. I didn't have a problem beating her, but then again, I seem to keep getting "unarmed combat" feats of ascending ranks. I think its an automatic feat thing for Jedi Sentinels.
  18. His second appearence is literally a "blink and you miss it" moment. They make a comment about finding someone on the ship, and there's a dead guy on the ground, but the camera doesn't stay on him long, and you can't really make out any details. And once the fight is over, the corpse is gone.
  19. I'm too nice. I don't even like to play Dark Side.
  20. The "worst thing" comment was directed at the Midichlorians. I doubt Lucas himself provided much, if any, direction to the garbage that makes up 99% of EU.
  21. That stinks. Guess there's no point in trying to finagle things so that I run into HK-50s while HK-47 is in my party (which, given the comment about the sonic device, would presumeably allow me to backtrack them). New game idea! First person shooter where you play HK-47 on a mission to cleanse the galaxy of HK-50 mockeries! WHOOOT! "You fight like a meatbag!"
