"Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee." I have two sons in London. They called to say they are fine. But as I write this, I know there are other friends and family who aren't so lucky... Humanity has suffered this day. I don't know if I will ever understand. To anyone out there who is working to make things better, whether you think you are failing or succeeding, you have my thanks... and my hopes.

KotOR II Movie/Music Patch Coming Soon
E_Motion replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
they're just a bunch of crybabies. (this snippet taken out of context) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just so you know, your sarcasm really makes Obsidian look like an arrogant, uncaring developer. The issues with the game are quite real. If you think you are defending a friend, I'll tell you this. With friends like you, Obsidian needs no enemies... -

KotOR II Movie/Music Patch Coming Soon
E_Motion replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah - you tell 'em!! Next thing you know they'll be asking to have the bugs fixed, then they'll be asking about the gameplay issues... I mean gimme a break, a game without problems just isn't any fun - they're just a bunch of crybabies. Seriously, it's good to hear some good news. Hope the patch appears soon. -

Searching for KOTOR II Screenies...
E_Motion replied to Matadore's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
E-Motion... those are EXCELLENT!! Very much what I was looking for. Although is that the cyan color crystal or the blue color crystal? Looks cyan to me... just curious. But yeah, if you could make some more like that, maybe with some of the "requests" I had, I'd REALLY appreciate it! Those 2 pics are awesome... can't wait to see more! Although I prefer more "frontal" shots than the side shot you did in the 1st link, but I like both the closer shot and the distance one too. Maybe you could do some with more than 1 character? Doesn't have to be 3, if you're using 1st person mode to get those shots... but I'd like them to both be Jedi. I really like Bao-Dur and the bearded exile, and those "requests" I put above would be awesome to have, if you don't mind doing that for me? You can post them on crimsonkeep.com so everyone can have them, and post the links to them here. And if you could pull off what wannabealoser125 did with Kreia and the exile, that'd be cool too. (I like that shot wannabealoser125, btw. Thanks!) But, anything you can do will be appreciated E-Motion! You're da bomb. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've got a good eye for color! Yes one or both of those were cyan. Will get you some more with blue, prolly tomorrow (will let you know here when done). Will try to do the multiple Jedi too. The CrimsonKeep site is really great - uploads go easy and fast - wouldn't be able to do this otherwise. Here are a couple of Dxun shots. http://crimsonkeep.com/kotor2/displayimage.php?pos=-513 http://crimsonkeep.com/kotor2/displayimage.php?pos=-514 -

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
E_Motion replied to lectrolux's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I made a bios change that seemed to help - lowered my graphics aperture size to 64 mb (even though video card has 128 mb ram - read somewhere that the bigger settings don't normally help and often hurt). Also cut down on progs running in background (closed the printer software and my antitrojan software (if you have antivirus software that hogs resources, prolly best to close that). Also one of the official recommendations is not to play in one place too long - so i periodically unload and reload the game - but found that didn't necessarily help - unless i defragged the ram between reloads - that made a huge difference in minimizing crashes -- use System Mechanic Professional to defrag ram (i think you can get a free 30 day trial - but be careful with other options on this prog, easy to erase stuff you actually need - the defrag ram hasn't ever caused any probs though). That's all the help I can offer. -
Any chance you actually started your last game as a Sentinel rather than Guardian? Sentinels start off with six class skills: Awareness Computer Use Persuade Security Stealth Treat Injury Guardians start with four: Awareness Demolitions Persuade Treat Injury One on-line walkthrough - http://gr.bolt.com/games/codes/pc/star_wars_kotor_2_faq.htm - gives recommended stats for a starting Sentinel that includes INT=16 to maximize class skill points.

Things you wish a KOTOR2 character would say......

More Fun with Kreia ******************************************************************** Bao Dur to Kreia: "Its about time we did something about your hand... The see-through wrist model is quite popular..." <pauses, thinking> "and... we really ought to do something about that scowl..." ******************************************************************** Kreia to Exile: (male) Never have you wondered what it would mean in the Echani rituals if the two of you sparred and fought - and you won, completely and utterly? If perhaps she would give in, surrender herself to you? Exile: Duh... Do lightsabers light up? -
Apparently it only happens if you have the second official patch installed; and only if you choose 'response 2' ("All right, we mean no harm") as your first response.

Here are a couple at the polar ice entrance to Telos Academy (I put the second in the wrong album - over eager "enter" on the upload - so it might get moved): http://crimsonkeep.com/kotor2/displayimage.php?pos=-510 http://crimsonkeep.com/kotor2/displayimage.php?pos=-511 Let me know if those are what you're looking for. -
Kreia is Handmaiden's mum?!?!?!
E_Motion replied to Cassidy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
So, the statement that something didn't happen, but that something else did, doesn't preclude the possibility of something that didn't happen, happening? What? I was just repeating the canon, here, and it says no. Who knows what it would have said if the storyline was fully explored? Let me try again. The fact that Kreia was there at a later time (after the Mandalorian Wars) proves nothing, one way or the other, regarding the question of whether she was there at an earlier time (during the Mandalorian Wars). If you can't understand this, I can't help you. -
what happens if you give the ebon hawk away?
E_Motion replied to RealTalk's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
hmmm ... not sure how to do the spoiler thing (hidden text) -- so I'll just say SPOILER BELOW!!!! Spoiler: He doesn't get to keep the Ebon Hawk; but you get to keep the lightside points you get for being honest. -

Kreia is Handmaiden's mum?!?!?!
E_Motion replied to Cassidy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Do you use your mindreading powers to ascertain the writer's intent? Or maybe you claim to be the writer? And btw, it was you who interpreted a question in a manner fully inconsistent with the answer here: The operative word there is thought. They exiled Kreia and never saw her again. It is reasonable for them to assume that she followed Revan to war and died there, but it doesn't make it true, nor does it require you to believe that the Master who said that was lying, in order to believe Kreia's version of events. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I merely pointed out that your interpretation was inconsistent in the entire context of the passage, which included Kreia's answer (which is not as you claim, inconsistent with Kavar's question). -
Kreia is Handmaiden's mum?!?!?!
E_Motion replied to Cassidy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I see what you are saying. Nevertheless even your version of events doesn't preclude the possibility that Kreia fought on Malachor V (She could have been there more than once). Moreover, your explanation of Kreia's response isn't particularly reasonable in the context of the question, which you agree implies a belief that she was present for the Malachor V battle (there is certainly no basis in the game to presume that the Jedi Masters would have known of Kreia's later activities in the Trayus Academy on Malachor V). -

The operative word there is thought. They exiled Kreia and never saw her again. It is reasonable for them to assume that she followed Revan to war and died there, but it doesn't make it true, nor does it require you to believe that the Master who said that was lying, in order to believe Kreia's version of events. The official version of the story is that Kreia did not fight at Malachor, which blows the whole Kreia is Kae thing right out of the water. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kreia's in-game answer to Kavar's query "I thought you died at Malachor V" is "Died, no. Became stronger, yes." This would seem to officially support the proposition that Kreia was present at Malachor V. -

P.T. Barnam ("There's a sucker born every minute."), would have loved you. In the long run however, Obsidian and LucasArts will find that most consumers don't easily forget companies who took advantage of their trust. Other companies have walked this path before and have found that a policy of ignoring defects is a huge mistake. The current situation on this game is that even after the second patch, there are still numerous glitches. It's so bad that a group of fans have released patches to overcome various game-stopping problems. The apparently final official patch leaves the consumer with a game inclucing quests that cannot be completed and two end segments (Remote, and Mira/Hanhar) that make no sense whatsoever. The majority of ppl is this forum attribute all of the game problems to LA and claim that Obsidian is contractually obligated not to fix the game. But imagine LA filing a lawsuit against Obsidian for releasing minor, non-official patches that fixed a defective consumer product with Obidian's name on it. LA would be laughed out of court and would damage their own reputation beyond repair. This was Obsidian's first game. If Obsidian releases a second game like this, they're washed up; it's "Game over man, game over!". And even if their next, next and next games are near-perfect, Obsidian will likely find that the problems they ignore today will haunt them long into the future. Consumers will look long and hard before spending their money on a game that is likely to be abandoned by the developer. And every release of every future game will likely draw comments by reviewers, recalling SWKOTOR2, and raising questions whether Obsidian will fix any known and yet unknown problems in the game. Personally, I'd like to see Obsidian succeed. But if I were a close and trusted friend or adviser, I'd tell them in a heartbeat that they're currently following bad advice, acting against their own best interests, and damaging their chances of achieving sucess in the long run.

... which brings us back to the original question of Mandalorian reproduction. The Mandalorian actions of recruiting other races to have enough warriors and taking slaves to bolster their numbers seem to point to a Mandalorian reproduction problem...

Thanks for posting that excerpt from GAME INFORMER... interesting. Like the rest of you, I looked at some of the press on the new LA HQ -- read about all of the futuristic technology -- and wondered, "So just why is it again that they can't issue a new patch?"
