After trying the method I got from the BIOboards, I can now say that I effectively managed to transfer all my belongings to the new character! thanks again for your help!
-
I got this answer from the BIO boards: sounds like a good idea to me! "As for transferring, just load your game as a multiplayer game and drop all your items on the floor. Then save the game. Create a new character, fire up the game again and join with the new charactger. Pick up the items you dropped, then save the game again, load up as single player and away you go."
-
The thing is that I don't remember how you actually transfer your items from the old character to the new one! I remember using the DM client and opening the module I had created. Then, my old character dropped all her belongings on the floor. After leaving the game (but without closing the module... in other words, the game kept running), I re-entered it with my new character and picked all these items. The problem is that this whole procedure was quite complicated and the guy who had suggested it to me, gave me some guidelines on how to use the DM client. Since I am not very good when it comes to computers, I cannot do this again without someone helping me. Cheers.

I haven't started any companion quest yet... I just chatted a bit with Tomi, but that's all I will try doing what you suggested and I will come back here to tell you how it went. thanks EDIT: unfortunately, I cant open any OC chapters as modules in the toolset... any other suggestions?

I was playing the OC lately and I just discovered that the character I had created sucked. Being almost done with chapter 1 and not wanting to go through all these tedious mini-quests again, I was wondering if I could replace my current character by another one. Of course, I would have to use the cheat keys to give my new character the same level as the old one, and I would also have to somehow manipulate the save file in order to achieve this transfer. The thing is that I don't want to lose all the items I have gathered so far (some of them are neat). In the worst case, if I had to restart from the beginning in order to keep my items, I wouldn't mind that much. But I would like to keep playing the game from the point I made my last save (you could replace your main character by another one in the middle of the game in the BG and IWD series). I remember having the same probs 1 year ago with one of the exp and someone had told me to create a simple mod (with just one map), in which my first character would drop all her items and the second one would pick all of them. Finally, I had to save my new character and start playing the OC with her. However, I don't remember exactly what to do... Can someone help me please? Cheers.

Has anyone managed to finish TotL? I have downloaded it and played it for a while. What I didn't like was that enemies respawned when I was moving from one screen to another. This is a huge inconvenient for me!

After some thinking, I think this is the cave where you are supposed to meet the Seer in HoW. If I remember correctly, you get to see her face on some walls while you are crossing the cave (it was just a very quick animation and was rather unimportant since you only saw a face and heard no voice at all).

Even though I have played both IWD and its expansion (not TotL however), I don't remember being in a place like the one depicted in that picture... Can someone enlighten me on it? Is it a mod? http://www.sorcerers.net/image.php?image=M...nturing%20party. Cheers. PS: in case the link doesn't work, just go to www.sorcerers.net and click on the picture of the week.

It's "platonic", not "plutonic", you idiot... plutonic is a word used in geology

1) piece of advice: Never mention yor mother in discussions, as this will prompt people to make fun of her... 2) she has indeed good taste (if what you say is true, that is)

reminds me of the Broken Sword games... I have only played demos of those... should I get them too?
-
is that a reply worthy of a 10-year old?
-
Geeez, I thought they would kiss each other... I almost pucked...
-
I just played the demo of the first game! It was awesome! I need to buy that game, now...

I never said that I got the Knights of the Round materia... actually, I didn't even bother seeking it since I could finish the game without it. Consider that materia as extra phat loot.... of the same kind you could find in BG2 ToB

I just downloaded it... and it sucks... I got bored after 5 mins... It's the classical japanese games that were released on pc in the 90's. You just decide the daily schedule of your character and just watch the results...

Why don't you admit that you have bad tastes? FF VIII was one of the crappiest FF titles among the first 9 (I won't mention those that came after since they aren't worth mentioning). Even though it had great music, great cinematics and an interesting story, the gameplay screwed it all. As some people have mentioned it: the draw system was horrible! I had to play for approximately one hour in each boss battle, in order to get 100 of a specific spell that you couldn't get otherwise. The junction system is difficult to manage: first, if you cast spells, your stats get lower, and I prefer games in which your stats increase naturally when you level up (I dont understand why they had to complicate things). The GF system was boring: I hated the fact that I had to rely on my summons most of time in order to win a battle. The weapon improvement system was annoying too: it was hard to get most of the pieces required in order to improve my stuff. and most of the times, I had to transform cards into items in order to do that. and I dont hate anything more than those damn card games! Forcing me to play them in order to get those rare items was just a pain in the ass. I liked the characters though (I was exactly like squall when I was a teenager). FF6 had a great plot and interesting characters, but it paled in comparison to FFVII which is one of my favorites RPGs of all time. Nice music, charismatic characters, plot twists, easy-to-use materia system, etc. Concerning FFIX, it had the merrit to go back to the early roots of the series, introducing characters that had the classic jobs (knight, thief, mage, priest, summoner, ninja, etc). It also had nice minigames, but the story was dull and boring after the third CD.

do you have a problem with bunnies?

Do you hate him or somthing? Also Chrono Cross has this 'bump into baddies to fight' system, but if you're European, you'll have to import. Shadow Hearts has random battles, but I never found them to be a problem (the game is about 20 hours, so the dungeons are really short and there is a story with actual pacing). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, I forgot to mention chrono cross, which is a great game! maybe even better than some FF titles. Does anyone else know any other JRPGs without a random-combat system?

First, I can't stand Final Fantasy. Second, although Xenogears was a *great* game it had *a LOT* of random encounters. I think you mean Xenosaga instead? In Xenosaga you can always see the enemies on the main view and one was able oftentimes to sneak around them. But even like that Xenogears managed to be better than any of the Xenosaga games, IMHO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it has been a long time since I last played Xenogears, but I now remember that there were some maps in which you could avoid the enemies and other maps where the random battle system was used. Tales of Destiny 1 enters in this category as well.
