  1. characters in game can speak, right? you can has narration, right? heck, iwd had still cut scenes that weren't movies... with good writing and narration they can add as much if not more than a movie sequence. not need movies to advance story... is ridiculous to suggest that such things is necessary. HA! Good Fun! p.s. keep in mind that we ain't saying that cut scenes never can add to story. they can... but the amount of resources spent on such things is ludicrous when one considers other methods that can achieve same story development goals.
  2. kotor cuts weren't all that great, but they were ok as far as such things go. 'course, for Gromnir, cut scene movies is a big waste 'o resources. take lots of time and money, last only a few seconds and they add 0 gameplay. nevertheless, there were analogous cut scenes in the original trilogy o' movies so they were almost a forgone conclusion for the game. hopefully kotor2 developers not waste more than minimal effort on such things. HA! Good Fun!
  3. where is options like CFO or benevolent dictator would be willing to consider creative consultant on a retainer basis. what did dave m do 'fore he left... fetch doughnuts? Gromnir could do that. HA! Good Fun!
  4. is a shame that so much of the info posted above from d20 star wars rules is of limited usefuleness. occasionally some bio developer gets queried 'bout the kotor engine... a boardie insists that the kotor engine is little more than a modified version of aurora. bio developers universally insist that kotor engine is NOT aurora 1.2 or some such... they is quite forceful an animated 'bout kotor being different. this claim by biowarians has always bothered us. am bothered 'cause while sw d20 does use much of the basic d20 system, it does many things very different. armour class and hit points and force SKILLS is handled very different than similar stuff in d20 d&d. so, if you is creating a new engine for a d20 star wars game, why does you make look more like d&d rules than star wars rules? example: anybody notice how int were largely useless in kotor. only one skill were unique to pcs and there were only a couple of places in game where high int modified anything useful. now looks at the lifted material in this thread
  5. am english teacher. ... we kid. gave up our career in academia years ago. nowadays, we is a hired gun. HA! Good Fun!
  6. you not listen to darque? conquering nations (including indigenous american peoples,) has been killing folks since the dawn of time... and the u.s. has been no more likely to use God as an excuse than most others. HA! Good Fun!
  7. just so folks is clear... freedom of speech is not so much 'bout getting to say whatever you want. freedom of speech is 'bout having to endure speech you dislike. HA! Good Fun!
  8. Um... "foreigners" case in point. ^ I find it funny that you would be chiding others about their educations. The president by himself has little power, you are right about that. What you don't seem to understand is that there is now a Republican majority in the House of Representatives AND in the Senate. It will be *much* easier for the Republicans to get their way for the next two years (at least). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> why do you find it funny? you do not suggest that Gromnir's education is lacking, do you? in any event, we is quite aware of the recent republican victories, but that does not change the fact that the President himself is incapable of achieving any of the changes you prospectively attributed to him. HA! Good Fun!
  9. "No, I implied that most engineers are socially inept. If you happen to be, my condolences. But I didn't make any observations about you, which is something you seem unable to avoid. Oops!" ... ever seen photos of the bonnie and clyde car after the cops shot it full o' holes? we read stuff likes the above and get all twitchy to do something similar. oh well... we let taks do all the work. HA! Good Fun!
  10. please give examples... but please note that Presidents and Congressmen has been clergy, and God has been invoked by democrats and republicans and federalists and anti-federalists. furthermore, one wonders how you propose to separate religious and secular issues... abortion, school vouchers, stem cell research, cloning. heck, keep in mind that it were religious women who initially got the anti-slavery movement going. we got a representative form of government, and most of our peoples is religious. HA! Good Fun! p.s. again, we thinks you should look into discovering just how many atheists has won the nobel prize for physics. you got the typical college student's notions 'bout religion... which is fine. you is 'posed to question things in college... but do not be so arrogant as to think you got the answers.
  11. separation of church and state has had many meanings... no doubt you thinks that your interp is the correct one? one thing that seperation of church and state has NEVER meant is that religious folks should refrain from entering politics... or that politicians should refrain from letting their faith guide them. like it or not, our country is populated by people who is religious... though they is probably less religious now than they was 50, 100 or 200 years ago. those folks who fear some sorta fundametalist nighmare (ala magaret atwood,) is, in our opinion, being a bit silly. HA! Good Fun! p.s. just for vv, you can discover how many atheists has won the nobel prize for physics if you wish. might surprise you.
  12. is amazing just how confused people is 'bout what a President does... and can do. would make us think that some of the foreigners is right 'bout their criticism of our educational process... if it weren't for fact that we can see just how ignorant those foreigners tends to be. HA! Good Fun!
  13. "Now that's just silly. 11 states just added laws to ban gay marriage... and this president wants to add it to the US constitution... If that isn't on the "offensive" I don't know what is." so you see armageddon looming 'cause the people in 11 STATES voted overwhelmingly, by democratic process, not to allow recognition of gay marriages
  14. some people is nuts. others is just young. the u.s.a. is politically very moderate and there is no Great Depression or World War to make extremist views palatable. lord only knows where folks is coming up with these hackneyed apocalypse theories. HA! Good Fun!
  15. you know, we not rubberneck when we pass a car accident on the highway, but we still occasionally read threads that potc starts... to our shame. HA! Good Fun!
  16. "My opinions reveal impotence? If anything its my citizenship that "reveals impotence" in that Im not able to vote in the US election." like we said... political pen!s envy. we spent time teaching/studying in europe... gives us perspective if not any sort of expertise. our european friends never got tired of telling us how stoopid americans was/is (they seemed to be able to ignore Gromnir's dual citizenship,) and they loved to share their opinions of what the u.s. should/shouldn't be doing. u.s.a. should stay out of other folks' business, right? too bad folks can't take own advice and stay out of ours. as to darque comment, folks here in the states generally don't take politics very serious compared to folks elsewhere. we would bet that more folks recall the snl skits from past Presidential debates than the than the actual debates themselves. HA! Good Fun!
  17. when a guy specifically asks for the opinions of non-americans concerning upcoming election (as 'posed to just anybody,) we not feel bad 'bout lumping him into the unfortunately large group we identified. is up to him to disassociate self from such folks... if he so desires. HA! Good Fun!
  18. not really redundant, since originally you was asking SPECIFICALLY for non-americans to respond to your poll. and as to our amusement... as a non-citizen of the u.s.a. your opinions and concern reveal no little degree o' impotence. again, before the edit, you asked for folks NOT living in u.s.a. to respond
  19. some editing taking place? oh well, we leave our response. HA! Good Fun!
  20. ... what a funny poll. political pen!s envy? anybody care 'bout politics in sweden? maybe our ikea catalog not come on time if there is a revolution in sweden? HA! Good Fun!
  21. left shoulder blade. green shamrock underneath interlocking blue on gold ND. caused us no end of trouble when we were playing college ball... not at ND. HA! Good Fun!
  22. this is a "famous people i know," kinda thread? hmmm. some of the stranger stuff. lived down the street from greg lemond for a while... and gave him a lift home in our jeep when we seen him on side of road with a flat bike tire. went to a barbecue where we seen antonin scalia w/o a shirt, and shared a limo with anthony kennedy
  23. the ban were lifted almost immediately. we not even email somebody at bio before it were lifted by derek french of all peoples. as we said already, this were not a big deal... were just kinda funny. we recognize the reasons for the auto ban feature, and the inconveniences that results when folks mentions alfred hitchc0ck and charles d!ckens and other famous personages with language filter unfriendly names. personally, we would have thought that a language filter such as this board uses would be enough of prophylactic for most peoples, but we ain't particularly bothered by the auto ban at bio. were just an amusing little incident. HA! Good Fun!
