  1. ... Otherwise everyone in the midlands and north of England are all inbred, a they have all intermarried in the same little villages for the last thousand years (until the industrial revolution, when population migration became a social trend). "
  2. You, before you edited the irrelevant quote out ... but even so it is still a pretty random comment!
  3. What are you talking about? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your post *WINS* the Most Random non sequitur for this forum. Congratulations! (w00t)
  4. I haven't met anyone who isn't weird.
  5. actually it stands for Just Kidding ... I assure you, I did not fail that [Awareness] check. Someone left an open "[sarcasm]" tag in my programming, so I often find it hard to stop... In fact, most anything I ever say should be at least double-checked for sarcasm. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sheesh, talk about straining the language barriers! It is demonstrably difficult enough to communicate in English (the wonderful medium of science and art ) over the internet without emoticons, let alone converse with an EASL person! We need a whole slew of new emoticons. "
  6. So you're the necromancer! just wanted to infect a new batch of innocents with this filth, did we?
  7. -She's 19 now and that would be perfectly legal... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But Revan's been gone for five years, so the crime has already been committed. Anyway, the real reason isn't one of the options. Revan went to the Outer Rim to get to the other side.
  8. Is it mandatory for all inhabitants of the Great White Land heretofore known as Canadia to love Hockey? Is it in the constitution, something sworn when taking the citizenship oath?
  9. Dragon Age will be out way before NwN2. It sounds pretty promising. (w00t)
  10. 1. You have to hand it to them, the creative talent required to jump from ancient demonic history into modern-day downtown Manhattan is inspiring. And in only one sentence. 2. It sounds like this is the real comic, whereas the former is just an Elvira-clone used as a vehicle for all those vampire-fetish Gothic geeks out there (you know who you are). Come to think of it, that must be quite a market segment.
  11. Half-Life 2: Aftermath. (Okay, not strictly a new game, just an expansion.)
  12. I'm betting it is  (w00t)
  13. No, it won't.
  14. Doom 3 is just what you would expect: same as Doom2, if you played that, just with ludicrously maxed out video requirements for shadows and such (no more than half-a-dozen enemies on the screen at once). It's just a masterclass in dark corridors with loot in visible ambush points waiting for you to trigger the hidden monsters to jump out from behind you. Just gets tired quickly. (I followed the reviewer's advice and played on Hard to extract maximum juice from it.) Still, it is atmospheric, before you get bored cycling through the same scenarios over and over again. I think you got to hell at the end, too. There's an expansion due out soon (EoY?) with a gravity gun, too. (!) HL2 is not that taxing on the hardware: if you can play KotOR you should be fine. There's an expansion due out any day (called "Aftermath"), as well as a whole new graphical modelling system they have developed to adhere to the lighting effects of real life which is due out soon as well -- for free (but you will need to upgrade for that, for sure). Yeah, kinda dug GTA, but again lost interst after a while. Screaming around on different vehicles was the best fun (ZZR 250s and such vs. Lambourginis).
  15. What, you mean like this? [snip: http://www.madcomics.de/ladydeath/LDV16.jpg] <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the spirit, got her legs akimbo, too!
  16. You are braver than I to wade into that neck-deep pool of faeces, even for AJ. :D
  17. Holy Father of the Discordian Church, I did not know!
  18. Half-Life 2 (it is soooo immersive, and I really dig that zero-point-energy-manipulator, y'know the gravity gun?): especially the new Substance mod (adds steroids to the standard campaign). Rome: Total War NwN every now and then. (QA'd Valourn's mod yesterday, can't wait for Dawn) Haven't played GTA: Vice City for a while, but that is also still on my HD. I played Doom 3 for a couple of hours, got through a couple of levels then I remembered why I thought Doom 2 was boring. Blech.
  19. Yeah but Helen wasn't nearly beautiful enough to pull off the part. (Angelina Jolie would have sold it to me. )
  20. So, as a Pope in the Discordian Church, I -- with all due solemnity and reverential piety -- hereby canonize you both. Arise Saint FarimirK and Saint Lucis!
  21. never heard of this comic before ( ) but I see that the artists have adhered to good taste and not resorted to tacky lowest-common-denominator (or should that be lowest-common-denominatrix  ) salacity. I can really feel their artistic integrity speaking to me, as they decry man's inhumanity to man and pose the eternal riddle of world peace and help frame the debate for an end to poverty, hunger and disease. " PS Still, at least her arse isn't up in the air.
  22. Ask and ye shall receive. (As it might be deleted soon, I have transcribed the contents, below. I can't understand why anyone would be offended enough to request this censorship, looks like Orwell's scarily prescient ... " ) A Pope in the Discordian religion refers to every single man, woman, and child on earth. There is an offical =POPE= card on page 00036 in the Principia Discordia that may be reproduced and distributed freely to anyone and everyone. Popehood, however, is not granted through possession of this card - it is merely to inform people that they are a genuine and authorized Pope of Discordia. While the powers of a Pope were not necessarily enumerated in the Principia, we are given some idea from a note under the card which states, "A =POPE= is someone who is not under the authority of the authorities." Some Discordians have also taken it upon themselves to further elaborate upon the powers of a Pope. On the back of some Pope cards, the following message can be found: "The rights of a =POPE= include but are not necessarily limited to: To invoke infallibility at any time, including retroactively. To completely rework the Erisian church. To baptise, bury, and marry (with the permission of the deceased in the latter two cases). To ex-communicate, de-ex-communicate, re-ex-communicate, and de-re-ex-communicate (no backsies!) both his-/her-/it-/them-/your-/our-/His-/Her-/It-/Them-/Your-/Our-self/selves and others (if any). To perform all rites and functions deemed inappropriate for a Pope of Discordia." This understanding of the notion of Pope has far reaching consequences. For example, the introduction to Principia Discordia says: "Only a Pope may canonize a Saint. <...> So you can ordain yourself - and anyone or anything else - a Saint." A female version, with the word Mome substituted for Pope, has also been promulgated.
  23. Greek Pope Coptic Pope Antipopes I was tring to find the quote from the Pope (Probably Eugene III) who said "Kill them all, God will know his own" in response to a question from the military attacking a city with Catholics as well as heretics, and instead found this link: "Tuez-les tous; Dieu reconnaitra les siens." from the Abbot of Citeaux. He wasn't a Pope later, either.
