More evidence that Obsidian is doing KOTORIII ?
They recycled Planescape:Torment story. Just because you did not recognized it was recycled does not mean it was not, most stories share the same basic concepts but in KotOR2 the story they recycled did not worked for that expecific setting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't all stories in life recycled in some way or another? Films, books, even music have recycled events for centuries so whats the difference in a game. If it was about originality we wouldn't even have a Star Wars Universe as Lucas ripped off numerous Westerns and Film Noir detective films and then stuck them in space! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tom Jones, aka The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling is regarded as the first plot of its kind in the English language (not sure about foreign languages); okay, it was written in the eighteenth century. The point is not every story has to be a rehash.

Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Bastila, if OE haven't said anything yet, it is probably because they are contracted to say nothing. I don't think they are *choosing* to stay silent and weather the psuedo-libel from irate SW geeks ...

McDonald's will take over the world, I tell you!
Well, I'm actually on a super-high carbohydrate diet. My staple foods are bread, noodles, chips and crisps. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing that's burning all that up, however, it may just be that I'm not actually eating all that much. Whenever I look at those lists of all the portions of meat, vegetable, grain and dairy products you're supposed to eat each day, I find myself wondering how anybody could eat that much of anything in one day. Also, I don't drink or smoke (or eat red meat), which may be helping. My body is a temple. A temple to junk food. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The liver is essential for carbohydrate metabolism. Also, if you suspect you have metabolic irregularities, one of the causes can be a thyroid problem. Neuroscientists and endocrinologists are still pretty unsure as to the whole thyroid system (causes of illness and consequential treatments, etc), but a simple blood test will reveal any irregularities (as long as you ask for thyroid performance to be tested), you don't want to have hyperthyroidism, or worms. Next Gen Consoles
It is not a mandatory regulation of the new standard; it is just optional, so I'm sure some will do it until the volume limit becomes an issue (" TDK announced a prototype four-layer 100 GB Blu-ray disc.").

Kotor Strategy Guide DVD
Isn't that the code to unlock the secret section on the SW OT DVD ? You would be correct!! Here's a hint, try finding the answers for yourself instead of waiting for them to come to you, trust me it will be many times more rewarding. WHile you're at it, don't spam other threads with your whining m'kay? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I was poilitely asking for help, there's a difference. Also, what do you mean by "spamming OTHER threads?" I created this thread, so I'm not sure what you mean. And finally, if you don't know the answer, then just don't post! What is the point of making a childish remark just to spite another poster? *Assuming you are actually an adult* that doesn't sound very mature. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He means try SEARCHING the forum for the answer; odds are it has been posted at least a few times previously, if not more.

i'm down with that... taht would make one intense game though.... i would be doing some preaty carefull gaming from now on..... WOW <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was a plot point in a James Bond -- Never Say Never Again, maybe? -- except that they had a general body electric shock; I think we should attach an encephalic electrode. ... Actually there is already a game you can play that is basically a health programme; you can monitor your autonomic body processes (like heart rate, blood pressure, etc) and control them consciously. Now if we could rig that up for Force Powers ...!

Next Gen Consoles
Just in case anyone missed it: Compatibility The BDA announced that, while it was not compulsory for manufacturers, Blu-ray drives should be capable of reading DVDs, ensuring backward compatibility. JVC has developed a three layer technology that allows putting both standard definition DVD data and HD data on a BD/DVD combo disc. If successfully commercialized, this would enable the consumer to purchase a disc which could be played on current DVD players, and reveal its HD version when played on a new BD player.

Revan, The Exile, or a newbie
Spielberg has mixed feelings about the effects of digital technology, however. "I'm as guilty as anyone, because I helped herald the digital era with Jurassic Park," he says. "But the danger is it can be abused to the point where nothing is eye-popping any more. The difference between making Jaws 31 years ago and War of the Worlds is that today, anything I can imagine, I can realise on film. Then, when my mechanical shark was being repaired and I had to shoot something, I had to make the water scary. I relied on the audience's imagination, aided by where I put the camera. "Today it would be a digital shark. It would cost a hell of a lot more, but never break down. As a result, I probably would have used it four times as much, which would have made the film four times less scary. Jaws is scary because of what you don't see, not because of what you do. We need to bring the audience back into partnership with the storytelling." Steven Spielberg, The Sunday Times Culture Magazine, Jun 19. 2005, p6. My emphasis; see even the director of the film that started the Summer Scary Blockbuster agrees that whiz-bang graphics and digital effects play second fiddle to good writing.

What are you reading ?
I can empathise completely with you Eldar. A few years ago I stopped reading altogether. As I have always been a voracious reader this eventually struck me as odd. I eventually concluded (after reading some SF) that I had just become tired of a diet of strict NF. I'll never forget the feeling of reading a SF novel; it was like the breaking monsoon rain quenching the baked Earth of my mind ... delightful! Afterwards I picked up my reading again. (Now it's just a matter of time management ...)

More evidence that Obsidian is doing KOTORIII ?
Ah, but how far the fall from the potential glory of the narrative in K2 to the dismal caricature that it manefested itself as ... how much worse the feeling of disapointment in this case than just to be playing the usual "chosen one" plot. It could have been spectacular. It might have been a modern classic. Alas it was a dud.

... And there should be a somatopsychic grapling electrode fitted from the computer to the person playing, so that if the PC dies, the player can be electrocuted to death as well.

McDonald's will take over the world, I tell you!
I like to get the "diabetics' nutritional guidelines" from McDonalds. It's a small recycled cardboard business-card sized triptych fold-out that has the calorie, kilojoule, fat, carbohydrate (complex and simple), salt and fat content of every menu item, percent and per item. It is usually located near the napkins and straws. It details how a quarter pounder and cheese, with a large fries, yields about half an adult's daily intake of fat (or more, I haven't read it for a long time ...)
