Tetris. Gameplay: simple concept, with (linear) escalating difficulty (speed to make decisions), predicated with randomness (items to decide upon). No deep themes, apart from ne quid nemis, perhaps.

I dunno if the themes have to change; I would say something interesting has to happen to the character(s).
