Didn't Dieties & Demigods contain charisma (and reverse-charisma score) tables? From -25 to 25, iirc. And the powerful beings with negative charisma scores could do just as much manipulation as the ones with traditional positive numbers. So your DM was prejudiced against your character.

There were numerous different game mechanics defined: single character FPS, tactical group assaults, and using aliens (giant ants), vehicular maze resolution, plus with shooting, zero point energy control of objects (online toilet sparring) ... That is like saying that all games with magic and elves are RPGs ... :D

Competition and/or team play is the lure of those games. The 'RPG' part refers to the basic gameplay mechanics of the genre, nothing more. That said, roleplaying in those games just seems puerile to me, like some sort of extended need to project your childhood fantasies in a grown up enviorment. In my time with WoW i was in a so called 'Roleplaying' guild, and whilst i enjoyed the casual and mature nature of the people i played with i could never bring myself to do it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Codex Interview with JE Sawyer I have read good reports of the European servers (n.b. I doubt it: they'll be a similar price to PS2 games, indexed to inflation, regardless. Market segments and competition mean that price is critical.

Apparently the European servers are much better (except Britain): I have heard very good things about German servers, for example. (And they speak better English than most US citizens ...)

I can only watch the "celebrity" reality shows, because they are not picked as demographically diverse weirdos with opposite and conflicting personality profiles, and argue because they are pampered egotists who (mostly) believe their own press.

It's more realistic and true to scientific realities than just about any other show I can name. The religious commentary is second to none. Mainstream TV-wise, at least. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But that guy with the thing on his forehead just looks so ridiculous that I can't watch it.

I would add that it shares the same characteristics as a long-running soap opera: the main plot proceeds through tiny fits and starts, via the large perturbations of many smaller characters. So if you miss an episode, you won't feel like the main story has left you behind, but you will have missed a major turning point in at least one character's story. It also may mean that the main plot resolves itself not as quickly as you might want. Don't forget Doctor Who!
