Dun dun DARRRRRRRR! PS It is not uncommon practice is business to have Project Managers that specialize in different parts of the cycle: a "starter", a "steady state manager" and a "finisher", for example. But it is more than likely that all the design work is finished at this point (note: not necessarily all the coding), and Mr Ferret has moved onto the next project.

Black. White.
I could have used the British-Irish conflict, or South African Apartheid, or many other examples. I used the Arab-Israeli conflict simply because it illustrates the effect of entrenched hatred over generations, and how it creates a vicious cycle of violence. read what I said carefully. I am not advocating any sort of reparation. I am suggesting, very reasonably I would have thought, that in order to draw a line under past transgressions and "move on", it is necessary to acknowledge past behaviours and admit they were wrong. The first step is always to take accurate feedback, and then make informed decisions from there. What you are suggesting is that "it's all in the past" and let's start again from scratch now. That is a recipe for genecide, anytime one group gets bored / annoyed / greedy and wants some other groups' resources. Just kill 'em all, then we don't have to worry about it. Conscience CLEAN! PS Lucius, I didn't hold you personally responsible until THAT CARTOON!

Movies You Have Seen Lately
It's based on a successful play. But the screenplay changed some of the fundamental aspects of the play (can't remember all the details off hand): I just remember that at the time of adjudication, when I had all the facts to hand, this was not a worthwhile film. Infidelity is not patricularly new, noteworthy nor interesting.

Why do you hate YOUR country
A friend of mine just emmigrated to Norway. Sounds like the country is very farm-oriented: where the "farms" are fishing villages. Low density residential structure. Very pretty (if you like the fractal geometry of fjords, and who doesn't?) and LOTS of snow. Very friendly people, big drinkers (but alcohol is so expensive thee that people bring their own and take it back with them when they attend parties).

Marvel and DC Enforce "Superhero" Trademark Posted by Hemos on Monday March 20, @03:37PM from the stupid-legal-moves dept. An anonymous reader writes "GeekPunk is announcing that their flagship comic book title featuring superheroes patronizing their favorite bar & grill during their off-hours will now be entitled Hero Happy Hour beginning with the fifth issue of the ongoing series. According to creator Dan Taylor, "The decision to change the title was brought upon by the fact that we received a letter from the trademark counsel to 'the two big comic book companies' claiming that they are the joint owners of the trademark 'SUPER HEROES' and variations thereof." " Read the recent boingboing post for more background as well.

Starforce enforces DRM by instant reboot!
IANAL, but I suppose they would be. The thing is no-one has taken the company to court ... yet, and then there is a little thing called a EULA which may indemnify them from any potential damage etc. The best way is a boycott of their products. Clarification: The EULA in regards to the game, and as Starforce may be viewed as part of the product. It all depends on how a real court would view the interpretation of such. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Contract law cannot contravene the laws of the country in which the contract is drawn. You cannot install a trojan device, to my knowledge, ANYWHERE in the world (with any IT laws) without the permission of the owner. I won't be surprised (if this is true) when Ubisoft have to make reparations to the US community under penalty of class-action.

BREAKING NEWS: PSP GOING DOWN THE PLUNKER
Microsoft To Construct iPod/DS/PSP Killer Posted by Hemos on Monday March 20, @02:21PM from the only-a-matter-of-time dept. Karsten writes "According to The Mercury News Microsoft is developing a PSP/DS/GBA/iPod-killer. J. Allard is leading the project." J. Allard is the man behind the Xbox, and from looking at the article it sounds like it's at least a year before this device, if it hits daylight, would be coming.

New nvidia card yet again!
The new nVIDIA 7900GTX and 7900GT are just the 7800GTX and 7800GT, only using a 90nm die instead of 110nm (thus will run cooler / allow for higher clockspeed). The 7900GTX only comes with 256MB DDR3 RAM, also. The new nVIDIA 7600GT (
