Vista delayed 'til 2007
Iimagine I'll be like most people, and just buy a copy OEM on my new PC, which I'm expecting to buy about the time Vista comes out ...

Dedicated Physics Processor, available now
I'm not so sure. I have yet to play a game with AGEIA physics which really wowed me. It just seemed to be "okay, so enemies ragdoll less than realistically." You can't drag them, or even bump into them. *Shrugs* It is possible that games aren't taking advantage of all its features, but that could be because the features themselves suck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I find it hard to believe that adding physics will make a game worse. Must be poorly implemented, either with bad use of code, or poor hooks to programme with. I'd bet the former.

Who here has an Xbox 360?
That was a very cool advert the had for the Xbox, I'll give them that. (The one where the baby is spat out of the pregnant woman in stirrups and hurtles through an arc as the baby grows into adulthood and beyond, to be catapulted into the grave as he turns into a withered old man ...)

That's okay. I didn't bother to make XBox a plural noun (I guess it would be back-formed to the third declension and therefore XBoxes). Translated, "a box" is arca so, conceivably, it could even be transliterated as: X-Arc

You could just put that in your sig. Would save you having to type it all the time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a good idea. I wonder what the words would be in Latin? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> XBox sugent. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wouldn't that be X-Box Sugo? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. That is Xbox I suck, or "I suck Xboxes". XBox sugent is "Xbox, they suck", or "Xboxes suck".

Gear of War 2 (I think that was the one) will be released for PS2 next year.

Interesting that sony are advocating that the PS2 will be a viable platform for another five years.

Temptation? Damn, let us hope there isn't a emergency red button the mods can hit to destroy the forums, or we're screwed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have many colourful facets that are not known by most people. In fact, it is written that it is not possible to know all my facets, lest the world disapear and something worse appear in its place.

I already have that. " Sooooooo I guess they didn't pick you as a mod because your really responsible, did they? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also, I had planned to be completely out of any temptation with automobiles. Not my fault that my plan was thwarted by an idiot housemate. "

That was over a decade ago. One would hope that with experience, comes responsibility.

facing Death
I didn't see my life flash before my eye. At least I can't recall if I did. I wasn't even supposed to be NEAR a car. We had all gone out for a big night, and had safely returned. One of my flatmates had to get his car out and wanted a friends car moved. I volunteered and the stupid idjit didn't notice that I was 30 Wild Turkeys south of sobriety. Not many images from that night, just when I caught the keys my hand and "Joy Ride!" popped into my head; the overwelming desire to know if the back of the road sign on the other side of the road had the same sign affixed to the back of it (), and the sub-millisecond attention span that saw me keep hold of the steering wheel as I turned my head and body to look ... then I was back at home, and another flat mate asked me what happened, everyone else was out looking for me. The police turned up. They asked me if I had been driving. I asked my flatmate what I should say. He said the truth, so I said I had ... Then I remember sitting in the police station and all these men standing around me,, and I was thinking "someone must have done something serious, they all seem pretty upset". ) I found out later someone from the local nightclub recognised me in the wreckage and pulled me clear. I then walked home. No injuries: in fact I have had worse scars from trying to complete back flips in said nightclub when too drunk to make it, and my shins were cut by the edge of the podium on which I started the gymnastic man

I would say that there is little chance that the game is unbalanced: especially as the monsters scale to your level. Perhaps you are avoiding some potent tactic in your battle strategy? Perhaps you are meant to run away, so that you can't just wander aimlessly around the map (and break the flow of the narrative)?

Oblivion First Impressions
I eventually operated the cheat code and gave my PC endless coin ... just to get all the glass armour (HOW MUCH?) and try to get to the end, in a last ditch effort to salvage something from the game. Edit: Don't forget it took about six hours to complete the mushroomm quest.

Attack Animation
I'm hoping the ramifications of SPORE might help this. If push comes to shove: less weapons, more animations.
