  1. Crucifixion?
  2. metadigital replied to karka's topic in Way Off-Topic
    That's very good, Karka.
  3. Whoa <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that is Darque's version of "Respect!" That, or "fangirl drool" ...
  4. Been there, done that, got several articles of clothing. (Yes, martinis are better in quantity drinking sessions, but that doesn't limit the options available for variety. Also, bourbon is the best spirit. Period. )
  5. No. No visibility at all. Currently the best (for games) is AMD Athlon and nVIDIA SLI on a nVIDIA motherboard. But everything WILL change in the next six months. A LOT.
  6. Not sure if it is the same for games as films, but films are sent to the country's censor prior to release (and after post-production, obviously). Any squabbles between the producers and the baord create delays in the scheduled release in the cinema, at the producers expense (obviously). I well remember how long it took for Total Recall to be screened ... I can still quote the teaser verbatim ...
  7. I think it was more a thought experiment / aphorism.
  8. It's a martini using bourbon instead of vodka. Equally deadly and slightly more streat cred, especially if the barman has no idea how to make it.
  9. ROFL Talk about impulse buying!
  10. Now any film with a Revolutionary Army of the Baby Jesus I can certainly appreciate ...
  11. I wouldn't be rushing out to buy a new GPU in the next few weeks: I am on target for about six months (estimate), as I've said before, the dust should be settled by then as to what tech is worth it and what is a white elephant. On the bright side, you can recycle that machine as a PVR or a Linux firewall-proxy-server for your home network, or both.
  12. HaHaHaHaHaHaHa <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ssssssssssshhhhhhhhh! I'm a mod now, I don't spam.
  13. That's about 3.6 million NZ boiling mud tickets ... "
  14. So it was $1200 FOUR YEARS AGO. Hate to bring it to your attention, but, the depreciation cycle for IT hardware is three years: a straight 33 and a third percent per year. Also, it's a sunk cost (and it was sunk a looooooooooong time ago): time to suck it up and bite the bullet!
  15. So you'd rather spend time moaning, then exploring? Okay ...
  16. Maybe I could add a disclaimer to all the threads that Jorian posts in, to warn off people on dial-up. :D
  17. Life is a Journey, not a Destination.
  18. Why thank you, Julian.
  19. Ya but where can you buy those old games any way? Exactly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't be surprised if Sony supply old PSone and PS2 games online, as part of the networked assets. They may even charge a nominal fee. I'd still be interested: some good games in the back catalogue (50% of last generation, plus the PSone stuff).
  20. Except Vista, with Windows Graphics Foundation 2.0 ...
  21. So your problem was that they were occupied/'liberated' by the 2 factions? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no... during the breifings it would show the world map and isolate a part of it... only problem was when it brought the isolated part up so you had more detail it'd change shape slightly <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's becouse the worlds is not flat, but the nearer continental maps were. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was nine then... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... And at the mercy of a US geography education ... "
  22. Welcome to the Forum. Please feel free to add all your Knights of the Old Republic suggestions for sequels in this topic: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=40521 Thank you.
  23. That NwN mod series by Adam Miller that I keep pimping has some limited C&C-type RTS combat with a large party of NPCs (elven scouts, brawlers, range fighters, and a cleric or two, iirc).
  24. You spent $1200 on a MOTHERBOARD, and it isn't PCI-E ?
