Sure, the newer (not yet released!) cards should have no backward-compatibility problems ... I am just a little underwelmed with the current top-of-the-range cards if one has a large widescreen panel. Cards without a Shader Model just don't draw the effect (like ATi cards without Shader Model 3, or nVidia cards without AA support for SM3).

You forgot to wipe your face (there seems to be a lot of dirt on it). No wonder you swear so much. " For some weird reason, no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Weird. It looks like a scene from Fahrenheit 451, with all the doggies chasing the cameraman ...

Yes. Also, characters of lower-levels are better for role-playing and making players THINK; if the PC can use any one of twenty life-taking spells, or nineteen different types of weapon (equally), then there is less impetus to improve tactics.

Why direct-download game distribution > publishers
metadigital replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Did this have any effect on downloading/ed games (and support, for example)? -
Well, the Persians had a global (Mediterranean) empire, and the Greeks, before the Romans, including some of the most significant battles of all time. Also Egyptians and Babylonians might be worth a title, too. My favourite option would for Chinese or (better yet) the Mongols!

There should be a PDF on the disc.

Excellent rebuttal. It is possible (and likely) that DirectX9.0L will be inferior to DirectX10; afterall I was under the (mis-?) apprehension that DirectX10 included Shader Model 4; should DirectX9.0L emulate DirectX10, it will have to (at best) make a "best guess" at performing additional calculations ... and there isn't much processing power left on the current x9xx ATi and nVidia generations of cards.

I have MS Works, it is a proprietary Office-type suite of packages (though it also contains Word); can't say I've ever tried to install it more than once and only kept it on my old (Dell) laptop because it came pre-installed and I installed Office on top (and I feared that uninstalling Works would clobber Word). -
Not sure why / what the image gallery would be used for ... when I read the question initially, I thought this might be a gallery of Obsidian offical-type artwork, like avatars, screensavers, backgrounds, skins, etc.

Saw The Departed the other day and was pleased that it was not terrible; Scorsese is really bringing the best out of DiCaprio, and the whole cast shines. The direction is good, but I doubt it's good enough to win an Oscar without the guilt-c

Please, tell me! What was the "rich backstory" of the original series? If you can't see the depth of the new series, then you aren't looking. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They were trying to find a new safe haven while trying to avoid being destroyed by the Cylons and other enemies, while keeping an entire rag-tag fleet of citizens and supplies safe from Pirates and any other things that were trying to kill them and rying to keep rebellions from happening across the disgruntled citizens in the fleet. They also had some damn good subplots along with believable acting to support it. Basically, it's survival, not some stupid soap opra thats just abunch of bad drama. Now why don't you tell me the so-called 'rich backstory' of the new series, meta? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not a big CGI-and-tights lightshow, like the old series. I watched the old series on tv when it was screened, and I have fond memories of it. Then, I watched the summaries included in the "making of" documentary of the new mini series, and all my rose-coloured reminisces were stripped from me: the new series has much[/i] better writing. The acting is probably about the same, all things considered, as I have found some of the new series to be quite ordinary. The new series investigates the ethical dimensions of interesting characters, like Gaius Baltar, who is not a particularly good person and yet has managed to provide for the survival of the remnants of the fleet on many occassions. Similarly, the Cylons have a much richer exploration, too: such Philip K. Dιck concepts as What is a soul? and very interesting theological concepts that would arise from humanity creating life: Would humans be seen to by gods by their creation?, Would the created love or hate their creators, or both?, Would the created be better than the creators? and even the added concept of machines coming to terms with emotions, how they affect various ego states and the entire consciousness feedback process. None of which was present in the earier series.

Trouble is, as with all despots in Stalinist states, no-one can tell them any uncomfortable truths. Like this was a really bad idea, and a low-probability win. The US won't give Iran direct one-on-one talks. Considering that Iran is borderline entering the Nuclear club, the US CANNOT accede to North Corea's demands without also giving a big green light to Iran. And the only thing worse than NK letting off a nuke, is Iran doing it too. Military action isn't even being discussed by the US. It'll be sanctions. They are worth more to me because I am an American. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I know, I was just showing you what a hypocrite you are.
-
So what makes the lives of "innocent Americans" worth more than the lives of the innocent North Coreans?
-
Sorry, but i place the lives of the innocent Americans who would die in such attack in a higher regard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But I thought North Korea would be the perfect exemplar of your new-found self-sufficiency model.

Yeah, loads of corporates negotiated "extended support" for Windows NT. -
Even though I subscribe, I don't read slashdot all the time; information overload. So I am pleased when others post what they think is important.
