I check them out from my local library, which happens to have all of them except for Redemption. There are no comic book stores near where I live, so I don't think I'll be reading it soon the bolded part is the biggest issue i have with anderson. he tends to go way overboard when writing about something, almost as a way to try and use a smoke screen to hide his shortcomings as a writer. he needs the unbelievable and the outlandish, otherwise hes nothing but an average or slightly better than average writer. guys like zahn dont need that kind of thing to tell a good story. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I completely agree with you. That completely applies to Exar Kun.

I finished reading all the TOTJ comic series except for "Redemption", mainly to see why people were commenting on its great depth and why KOTOR and KOTOR 2 should follow it really closely (technology wise as well as cannon wise). I liked its general story and plot ideas but I can understand why KOTOR and KOTOR 2 used different technology ideas. The way the spaceships are portrayed in TOTJ was really ridiculous for me. They have masts, rigs, sails, and even pretty much look like the Romans' triremes but there's one thing: it's space. The way they portray those ships, they wouldn't move an inch in space much less go into hyperspace. Another thing were the clothes the chracters wore. They wore robes much like what the Greeks used to wear centuries ago much less than the normal clothes we see in K1 and K2. I thought it was a strange comparison, having ships that can have hyperdrives but wearing clothes of an ancient design. I thought the lightsabers looked pretty good, especially in the Sith War. There were some inconsistencies in the Golden Age of the Sith comics when some Jedi used regular lightsabers and others used protosabers. Another inconsistency was when the ancestors of the Sith (the Dark Jedi) used lightsabers to battle the light Jedi but during the time of Ragnos' death they use regular swords. The True Sith were way too much like the Egyptians. I mean the way they dressed and acted was exactly how the Egyptians dressed and acted. One time, Ludo Kreesh even says: "Marka Ragnos, enjoy these riches in the afterlife" after sealing his tomb (the interior of which looked similar to a pyramid) before loading it with gold and slaves. Odan-Urr is such a powerful Jedi by the end of the Hyperspace War yet a thousand years later is destroyed by a single thought from Exar Kun. That's like Yoda being destroyed by thought by Anakin Skywalker (or Palpatine for that matter). That part struck me as weird. All in all I thought it was a good comic series, but I thought Kevin Anderson went overboard in thinking up of ancient galaxies and resorted to our own world's history. I thought it was good that K1 and K2 didn't follow the books exactly. What do you guys think?

but you dont have to fighting the jedi masters if you are a lightsider (ie. true jedi). they dont "hunt" you and dont want you actually dead. but on the other hand, there is no possible way for you to play the game where sion and nihilus arent after you and have to fight them eventually. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you can't play as a Sith because their whole philosophy is based on competition and power and it is inevitable that Sion or Nihilus will challenge you. If you want to play a Sith, you're on your own.

Everyone seems to hate G0-T0...me included. He's a stupid ripoff of the Empire's torture droids, and thinks he's doing me a great service by risking his stupid droid life coming with me. If the game allowed it I would have dumped him into outer rim space, turned the Hawk around and destroyed him with its turbolasers. on one hand its good that obsidian gets a "successful" title under their belt. on the other hand, lucasarts has proof that zero customer support, zero customer relations, and rushing a title out of the door early will still equal big time sales. so like you said, it gives lucasarts even more of an excuse to just half-ass their business approach since they seem to gross quite well even with the piss poor job by lucasarts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's true times two

Hey guys I'm about to start a DS game and I want to start either as a Guardian or a Sentinel and progress into a Sith Marauder. I know they get different LS/DS masteries, as do all prestige classes. These are the bonuses I've managed to start up: LS Guardian: +3 STR DS Guardian: ? LS Sentinel: +3 CON DS Sentinel: +3 DEX LS Consular: ? DS Consular: +50 FP (holy crap) What are the masteries for DS Guardian and LS Consular?

If you're talking about the Jedi Academy Trilogy, I can't argue with you there, because I haven't read those books. But I have read the TOTJ Knights of the Old Republic and Sith War comics, and I can say there he wasn't at all strong (or didn't display his power). He only kills 2 jedi masters in that comic series (his master and this master that teaches Nomi that force cutoff ability) and the ghost of Freedon Nadd. That's all. He manages to corrupt 20 jedi, but not because of his power, but by using a Sith holocron. He is led by Nadd to the dark side of the Force...what kind of weak Jedi follows a darkside spirit everywhere around the galaxy? I personally thought Exar Kun had no true strength whatsoever. I mean for god's sake he got whooped by the Massassi when he landed on Yavin 4. I like Ulic Qel-Droma-he was extremely strong in the Force, and not artifact strong like Kun was. He defeated Mandalore, his basilisk war droid, and his brother Cay all in single combat.

Ulic Qel-Droma wasn't weak. He lost his Jedi powers 10 yrs before he died and thus was able to be killed by a blaster. I mean the guy defeated Mandalore and his Basilisk War Droid in single combat. Anakin Skywalker is supposed to be the strongest Jedi to join the Old Jedi Order. He pretty much wipes out the whole order.

Dantooine is discovered. That's Master Vodo Siosk-Bass (sp?)'s homeworld. That's where Exar Kun, Sylvar, and Crado were trained in the ways of the Jedi. I personally don't care about that "Darth" thing because those Jedi vs. Sith comics are crap. WTF the Jedi are called "the brotherhood of light"? Exar Kun is a joke. I dunno why people think he's a superstrong sith god. I read all the TOTJ: Knights of the Old Republic and TOTJ: Sith War comics, I counted this: he corrupts 20 jedi and kills 3 i think(his master, this one jedi master who teaches Nomi Sunrider the cut-off ability, and the ghost of Freedon Nadd). People think that because he has a Sith amulet, he is a Sith god and no one can stand up to him. I personally think that Revan and the Exile can easily beat him. As for Ragnos, yeah I guess he was powerful. Sadow was really cunning, I don't know how strong he truly was, not having read TOTJ: Dark Lords of the Sith.

Go to the Dobo Bros shop on Telos and talk to the evil Dobo brother. He sells one lightsaber color crystal. If you don't get the crystal of your choice, reload and talk to him again. He sells crystals of all colors, although it took me forever to get cyan from him. I think its better than talking to the woman on Dantooine 'cause she talks a lot.

OK...I guess you should activate all your shields, stimpacks and stimulants and use flurry/critical strikes often...if you have lightning and force channel, use them like crazy; if not use lightsaber form 2 (makashi). If you get pretty weak use advanced medpaks and life support packs. Hope this helps.
