Does your country grant you liberty?
I'm beginning to think that you've received one of those chain letters where they ask a whole bunch of worthless questions, that really can't be answered, and now you're just posting each question as an individual topic. His programmer is still working on his script. Just wait for Eddo37 I don't think the original question can be answered in a way that makes sense. Countries doesn't grant you anything except perhaps an identity. People (Goverments?) do things, countries just are as far as I know.

STAR WARS: The best of PC
The Lucasarts marketing machine is getting up to hype... erhh hyper speed again. They probably need some quick cash to start up new projects. Best of my butt.

Why does US, Canada, and Mexico own North America?
That is a contradiction in terms. History is essentially the catalogue of actions perpetuated by individuals / groups of individuals/ nations in the past. In the past, correct. I was pointing out that the statement could not be correct and as far as I can tell, you seem to agree. While history may influence the present, it does not do so nearly to the point of eliminating free will. Is Germany going to come after the Allies anytime soon because they lost WW2? Why not? Grudges can last a very long time. You only need to look at Greek/Turkish relations, the former Yugoslav states, Chechnia, Armenia, Kurdistan, Hans Island, You name it. Grudges can last several generations without breaking a sweat. Don't be surprised if a newly militarised Germany becomes way more bellingerent (Sp?) against Russia over things like Koeningsberg/Kaliningrad etc. Seriously, people are still filing lawsuits against the german state demanding recompensation for wrongdoings almost two generations ago. Some day they might just be fed up with that image and start flexing their muscles a bit. Stranger things has happened.

Does your country grant you liberty?
No idea (honest)... Your country is not a fixed thing, when you live in different countries where you don't have citizenship, only permits and visas. At least I've got a good excuse for not voting at any elections and can happily ignore local politics :-"

Why does US, Canada, and Mexico own North America?
Because nobody has been strong enough to "liberate" all of it yet. Not for lack of trying mind you Alexander tried, the Romans tried, the Mongols tried, the Spanish tried, the English tried, the Americans would love to try etc. Yet none has yet come up with the strength to clean the entire house of it's former inhabitants so to speak and keep them out (to stay with the original allegory of kicking your neighbour out). Somebody is bound to come along every century with the idea that "his" people is the chosen master race and all other races/parties/religions/ideologies are inferior and must be replaced with your own. Who knows, somebody might succeed some day. Evolution in action... Edit: In some ways, you could argue that the world is a society by itself, it just has a very high threshold of tolerance for infighting before it's constituent members unify and act against single members.

Are you asking this as a serious question? Micro: Well, if you and your neighbour were the only two people in the world, you might be able to "liberate" his home and kick him out. Assuming that you are physically capable of subjugating him. Micro/Macro: Since it's unlikely that you are the the only two people in the world (which would make me your neighbour  ), other rules apply. Part of being a member of society, be it a gang, a country, a political party etc. is the mutual commitments and rules that governs behaviour, responsibilites and so on. If you are both part of a society that has rules which states, that you can not kick out your neighbour because he is unable to hang on to his property, that society will gang up on you and kick you out in return, giving your neighbour his home back. Macro: This is where it gets messy and usually pretty bloody, when two organised groups (again, gangs, nations, political parties whatever) decides that they need to kick their neighbours out of their homes (because their homes needs to be "liberated" in the name of all that is right and holy and so on). The principle is the same as in the Micro example, might makes right. Sometimes you have a choice of which part you belong to, sometimes it's an accident of birth whether your are doing the "liberating" or being "liberated".

Vampire: Bloodlines
*Taking notes*... Bedlam definitely didn't do anything. I don't think I even tried Bloodboil when playing a Tremere because the Malkav powers didn't do anything. Maybe I should try the game again once I get enough of NWN2

Vampire: Bloodlines
You don't say. That ending actually surprised me a bit. Of course, it was also my first play through, not knowing what to expect In later play throughs, I made a point of specialising in at least one form of combat, as "special" offensive bloodline powers seemed to just bounce off bosses.

Vampire: Bloodlines
If you side with the Kuei-Jin, you'll discover a completely different use for the sarcophagus Side with the enemy? Such an unkindred act to do. Kuei-Jin are for killing. It was an act of convenience  My not at all combat oriented Malkav couldn't beat them :"> If you can't beat them, join them (w00t)

NWN2: Discussion
My condolences That *would* suck.

NWN2: Discussion
It's Ok as long as I don't really "suffer". If my framerate was at a crawl, like 10fps, I might take steps like that. Most of the time though, it's the load times that annoy me, not the speed once it's loaded

Suggested anti bot measures
Since they are getting more and more annoying, Obsidian could make them do something useful... Like modifying the forum software to automatically replace anything remotely ressembling a url by posters with a postcount of less than 5 with a url that points to www.obsidianent.com, www.savethedodo.org, whatever. If you can't prevent them from joining, I'm pretty sure you can prevent them from linking to whatever it is they want to sell

NWN2: Discussion
They don't always suck. My laptop runs NWN2 with 35pfs indoor (rebuilt Ironfist halls) and 20fps outdoors (Crossroad keep). Low shadow settings, double AA, water effects turned on.

Interview with Feargus Urquhart and Ryan Rucinski
Wait, what? You can't have companions change classes freely, can you? Maybe the "your" fighter is referring to your fighter, as in your fighter player character? Just a thought.

G'night? Sheesh... Other deities work six days a week... tirelessly Well, when you wake up, I've got a few burning questions for you in your exalted capacitiy then, what's the deal with creationists and evolutionists? How big and how old is the universe and what was Jack the Rippers true identity? A promising career start. He has all the diplomatic skill of Vyacheslav Molotov ^_^

NWN2: The NPC's AI
I don't know if it the same bug that keeps pestering me, but I noticed that whenever I change party members outside the Sunken Flagon Inn (like in some scripted events or when you get your castle), the newly added partymembers seems to be stuck in "Puppet Mode" and no changing of settings seems to work. Only workaround that I found so far is to visit the Sunken Flagon Inn, after which the "dumb" party members seems to pick up their brains and act normally (normally for their AI anyway). Annoying, but hopefully fixed some day

Interesting concept. No "Holy Ghost" to facilitate communication between my creation and me? It might lose a bit of it's incentive then, if I can't even receive prayers and adulation from my subjects, nor punish then at a whim when I feel peevish (I've played too much Populous (Sp?)). Let's just for a moment assume then, that I take the same kind of pleasure in my creation that a painter might get from a new painting then, i.e. joy derived from the creation process itself, maybe making a few dollars too if I could sell it to a collector. Hmmm, what would go in there? Crates, Sewers and Ritual Virgin Sacrifice for sure Kidding aside though, it's a tough question, especially if you have limited or no interaction with events inside your creation. I need to think a bit more about this

I hadn't seen his post when I wrote that comment. The double meaning of modding as world building and moderator work being completely unintentional, I swear

Aaagh! Where did my save games go?
I think it's because Kotor2 keeps your saved games seperated by character name. There is a "switch" function where you can switch between different sets of save games, unlike Kotor1 which had them in a big pile. A quick peek in the save game folder with windows explorer should give some hints on whether they are really gone or if he has just created a new character which then becomes the active set of saved games.

Now *thats* what I call modding...

- Sit up straight......
Lucky me, last time I checked my legs, my knees were still below my hips. Actually, they were located at the end of my thighs As for leaning back... I'll print this one out and show it to the CEO next time he asks why the heck I'm just sitting there, leaning back on my chair - Sit up straight......
