  1. I'm cheating outragously and posting two questions in one post: 1) Business Development Manager being part of your description, what is in your personal assessment at the time of writing the most profitable (ROI ?) market gaming wise and will you/Obsidian have a go at that market ? Why/Why not ? Not so much platforms, but game genres and demographic target groups. 2) How do you (and your fellow Obsidianites for that matter) feel about merchandising ? Will we see g-strings with Obsidian logos, t-shirts with your resident artists concept art on them, coffee cup with your portrait on it etc. I for one would buy at least 5 cups, one with each company founder on it, if it would support one of those less profitable isometric party based crpgs being self published and developed...
  2. Presuming that Feargus got his finger on the pulse of the gaming market, what is at the time of writing the most profitable (ROI ?) market gaming wise ? Will you/Obsidian have a go at that market ? Not so much platforms (yes, yes we know, unfortunatedly thats consoles), but game genres (MMO's, FPS etc.) and demographic groups. If Obsidian had been a boy group, they would already be busy selling merchandise, from g-strings to life size posters with the developers for all the 14 olds out there (which seems to be where the record companies find the loose money).
  3. The last two good space sims I played was X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (never could find a store that had X-Wing Alliance) and before that Elite II I also had Freelancer (at least I think that was the one) which came as bundled software with some hardware, but ironically, it didn't run on my computer
  4. Hmm... stranded on a deserted Island I would probably wish to be stuck with either Accept or Sisters of Mercy. Not sure which one though
  5. The astrophysics guys and the philosophers are still arguing that one. Threads and posts (and posters) seems to "disappear" every now and then, giving rise to the theory that the realm of TOMBS is not infinite :p"
  6. I'm probably more into the "heavy rockers" than the metal bands. Old favourites includes old Iron Maiden stuff, Accept (old german band), old Kiss stuff, WASP, old Black Sabbath stuff, old Scorpions stuff (another old german band), and the odd old Metallica track :">
  7. I've only been playing it for half an hour so far, but it is currently on my shopping list...
  8. My only problem with that is, based on experience, that the cd's/dvd's sometimes outlast the developers/publishers when they fold One reason for me to prefer physical media with a friggin possibility to back it up (i.e. no weird copy protection schemes).
  9. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renegade_Legion An computer game was made over the Interceptor game. Turn based space ship combat/rpg hybrid Edit: And a fun game it was too.
  10. *Sigh* As a rule of thumb, if I can find a no-cd patch for a game, I'll buy the game, if not, I leave it to rot on the shelf. If I had known that the patched Kotor2 wouldn't work with no-cd patches, I would never have gotten it in the first place
  11. Face it Atreides... you are so doomed!
  12. So, pork leaves out the muslims (and jews if I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong). Beer leaves out quite a number of groups too... If you try beef, all the hindus will sacrifice you to Kali or some such... If you try vegetables, some enviromental extremist will blow up your dorm... Only one thing left... ... McDonalds :D
  13. Knights (Check!) Princesses (Check!) Subclass: Damsels in distress (Check!) One dimensional villains (Check!) Magic (Check!) Dragons (Check!) Weird races (Check!) Guilds, classes, skills, etc. (Check!) Heroes that are no more believable than the villains (Check!) Henchmen to provide more skills/comic relief (Check!) Smells like fantasy
  14. I'm not Eldar, but I think I can safely answer that one anyway: Yes It's a "fantasy" version of Necromunda. Right down to the betrayals and backstabbing between players in the quest for fame and fortune :D
  15. I hadn't even heard about half of the names on that list... :">
  16. *Sigh* A remake of the original Tombraider game (same game on a new engine) is very high on my wishlish
  17. There is a downloadable PC demo from Eidos website (500+ mb). Looks nice enough I guess and pretty fun to play too (the single demo level you get that is). Reminds me of a twenty first century Tombraider II.
  18. I've never really been into the MMOxyz thing, but I'll keep an eye out for this one... Especially if it turns out to be a computerised version of Mordheim
  19. The Warhammer universe (at least the old one, that I remember) makes White Wolfs settings look like Hasbros "My Little Pony" universe by comparison
  20. I think both soundtracks suited their games and athmospheres quite well Same thing goes for Bloodlines, one of the most awesome overall sound experiences (voice acting and music) I can remember listening to in any game. It doesn't really seem quite fair to take the soundtracks out of context and compare them, but thats just me Why all the picking on poor Gabrielle ?
  21. Listening to the music right now... :'( Somebody must be responsible for games like that not being made anymore... Please tell me who, I really need to hate somebody
  22. Should it ever come to a test of strength between Queen and parliament (in Denmark), I know which one I would put my money on (hint: It's not the parliament) :o"
  23. Emotion is what got Anakin chopped into pieces. Jedi dont let their emotions control their actions. Sometimes, the DS vs. LS thing looks like brute force vs. skill and discipline. It reminds one of that old less sucky Van Damme movie, what was its name... Bloodsport I think. Various techniques pitted against each other, each with it's own strength and weaknesses, none of them really inherently better when used by masters.
