  1. Not exactly plumber, but there are days where you wonder if doing what you do is worth it...
  2. Guys, how about creating a new thread for comparison of different sports and let those who likes baseball have this thread?
  3. I've never played the computer version of The Settlers, but the board game is quite fun
  4. I can assure you that Aussie coffee is nothing to write home about. Significant amounts of Malt Whiskey and whipped cream are to be considered essential supplements
  5. If officially "sanctioned" by Microsoft as mirrors, I don't see a problem. I know companies sometimes outsource downloads to places like c/net etc. On the other hand, I know Microsoft has tightened up security a bit and generally won't let you download stuff without running the Genuine Windows Advantage ® thing.
  6. When I play the witcher, I can keep a cup of coffee warm on top of my cooling thingie next to my pc
  7. I find the concept of "minorities" discriminating. By even identifying people as belonging to a "minority", you are supporting the division of people and the associated attibuting of "values" to groups of people.
  8. Thread getting a bit long Continued here
  9. Start of old thread End of old thread Managed to put in 15 minutes of Dead Space the other day. Haven't managed to get out of the crashed rescue ship yet Too much work, too little gaming time at the moment.
  10. What version was your Windows when you bought it? Retail/OEM? If it was an older version, you should be able to roll it back, but I am not sure where you get from that it is SP3 that is the cause of your problem. From personal experience, I played Kotor2 for more than half a year with SP3 with no problems. Vista on the other hand... seems to hate Bink players As for posting links to anything but the official Microsoft downloads, that is a big no-no that gets people in trouble.
  11. That occured to me too, but it was an interesting topic anyway.. I'll just remove the link.. I thought so too, even checked out the link, but no amount of trying revealed anything being promoted/solicited/sold/advertised As Rosjerg said, interesting topic I would love to visit London during summer time (having always been there during winter for some reason), otherwise I am partial to southern Europe (the Canary Islands, the Greek Islands, the Baleares etc.
  12. It seemed like those hordes of monsters in the grind areas spawned when you stepped on certain triggers, not when you entered the buildin/cave. It disappointed me quite a bit, having chosen a ranger for my first play through, all beefed up in motion tracker and radar equipment (or whatever the skills/feats are called). All of it useless since there weren't any thugs/orcs to detect until they spawned on top of you. Damned hook horrors...
  13. I don't know any of those games... and I wanted to be excited
  14. According to my ancestors, Ragnarok is what awaits when the Aesir and the Jotuns fight the last battle.
  15. Help celebrate World Nutella Day Can somebody tell me why most major religions seems based on fear? Maybe I've heard the wrong people talk about it over the years, but the threats of death and damnation and bad consequences of not following The One True belief ® seems to outweigh the possible benefits by a large margin. Almost like the IRS... As for the gameshow, it seems like a bad idea. I might be a follower of Pragmatism, but It makes a mockery of what other people might believe in and unnecessarily so.
  16. Atari 2600? Was that a crack at my age young lady? When I was young, there be dragons blah blah etc. (keeps talking about the good old days) I am sure the games were better too I seriously miss games that had the level of detail of the IE games. I might be old fashioned, but somehow I still find the artwork and level gfx of those old 2d games superior to most 3d modelled stuff. Edit: For the record, I never had an Atari 2600. My first computer was a C64 in 1983
  17. Anyone of the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games that runs on contemporary computers would be welcome *stares wistfully at his old LucasArts boxes*...
  18. Yes. Your position sometimes depends on whether you are the perpetrator or the victim. Lets stick to discussing Dragon Age for the time being and if anyone has a problem with the concept of "taking what doesn't belong to you without paying your due for it and depriving somebody else of their livelyhood in the process" being wrong, they are welcome to PM me.
  19. I haven't really said anything yet for two reasons. Water cooling requires a bit of work to bash together initially (and I got the impression that "hasslefree" was a requirement). Once there, it is no different than any other cooler maintenance wise. Check liquid levels once a year, thats about it. Second reason is price, as I suspect it will be more expensive than fan cooling. That being said, it is completely noiseless and offers superior colling to most fans you can find out there (imho)
  20. I wouldn't trust the taste buds of a people who consumes Vegemite and Black Pudding Not really into sweets, but I can sometimes be bribed by chocolate. Austrian and Belgian in particular
  21. ...was thinking the same thing
  22. I once asked the same thing about cricket down here and almost got lynched It's one of them cultural differences. The movie "Major League" with Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger is as far as my knowledge of baseball goes. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two here
  23. That *is* silly. I can understand that the legal system goes out of its way to protect the privacy of a person until found guilty, but afterwards? Should criminal records in general be publicly available? It might put a few journalists out of their job, but still.
  24. Finally got solid ground under my feet again after a 70 hour work week, including a lot of time spent in the air or hanging around in airports Added another stuffed toy animal (a wombat) to my collection from an airport souvenir store Time to catch up on emails, laundry, pm's, forum events, snail mail, etc. and then crash on the couch watching a random DVD.
  25. Maybe because that is how it is pronounced in German? In Danish too for that matter. Ooni... rather than Youni... a slip that happens for me too on occasion.
