  1. Is there really a difference between Facebook and a MMO? I thought parts of the addictiveness of MMO's was the interaction with other "real" people. What would be their point otherwise?

Thanks Oblarg I suddenly feel like listening to some old Judas Priest again I guess its about as pointless to nail down the exact details of what qualifies as what in music as it is in game genres... what makes an RPG
  3. This brings back bad memories of Leprechaun fighting... ye gods I hate those little buggers. All my precious gold
  4. But you do have time for single player games? How does that work? It's a matter of timing. It happens that I have an hour or two to spend on a game (on rare occasions an entire night), but I can rarely ever plan for it.

Can somebody explain in simple English what progressive metal is? Listened to a few of the youtube vids and didn't see anything that Ronnie James Dio didn't do better in 1983
  6. The new Lara Croft game? I have to say, its excellent! You serious?... It looks like a Diablo clone I wouldn't say its a Diablo clone, but if you could mash Diablo and Tomb Raider togeather, you'd get the new Lara Croft game. Give the demo a shot, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, for the price its worth it if you have someone to play Co-op with If there is a demo, I'll try it. Diablo was probably the wrong comparison, it was the first thing that sprang to mind to describe mindnumbing combat against endless enemies and loot gathering. Visually, it actually reminded me a bit of what little we've seen of Dungeon Siege III so far. Blame it on my age, but Tombraider and Tombraider II still stands out in my mind as "The Tombraider Games", because the focus wasn't action, but exploration. It wasn true sandbox games, but the levels were effin huge for its time and you were rewarded for exploring it. Lara Croft was as much the super elite force, all slaying soldier that Indiana Jones was (i.e. not). Besides, I don't really have time for co-op games unfortunately, so that isn't a selling point
  7. If they told you that there were secret passages, they wouldn't really be secret anymore? Saying yes would be a lie no matter what.
  8. Less than literal quote of your post Never managed to survive that one without cheating. If Tigranes beats it in one go without reloading, I'm going to be not just impressed by his skill, but ask him to fill out my lotto coupon

  10. Gorth - a Hater since 1966 and proud of it Moderately interested in Fallout: New Veges. I would have loved to be looking forward to the new Tombraider game, but I took one look at the trailer, scratched my head and went "WTF?" Am looking forward to Victoria II and Europa Universalis III: Divine Wind
  11. Insert quote from Churchill's speech here
  12. Keep your voice down!
  13. Getting past the magic 500... Caravan explanation this way
  14. Seemed like a good place to continue the discussion... Start of old thread End of old thread
  15. I've switched mine off and leave it to my Kaspersky application control to keep the running software in a leash. Quite revealing what some programs try to do every now and then, from writing hidden registry keys to trying to "phone home". I just don't trust programmers
  16. End of this Chapter New Chapter
  17. Start of old thread End of old thread Don't they have some kind of legal aid for the financially challenged or some such in NZ? I once had a scuffle with Samsung and asked JustAnswer for advice. Got to talk with a lawyer whose specialty was Aussie law on the subject and got the info needed on how to tackle it. They asked for a donation up front (typically $30 at the time) and then you could pay what you could afford/felt it was worth after receiving help. The latter being optional.
  18. Dude just look for a saved game online. I have, yet again, they suck. There's a close one that's good, can't remember what I disliked about it. Edit: On second check, there's only one thing wrong with it. The Bhatia body quest. I guess I can live with that. Isn't there a save game editor around where you can tweak most things in the previous game?
  19. Maybe, some day, they'll release the entire collection of DLC's as a discounted "box set". Same thing for Dragon Age. I'll probably skip ME3 and DA2 and wait until they come as some packaged deal in the bargain bin. Might be a few years, but whats the hurry?
  20. I like the name of the website
  21. Couldn't have said it better That once was fun though. Well, back to Icewind Dale II, I seem to remember really enjoying the game when you get to the Underdark part (the Ice Palace was like the fade, fun once). I felt genuinely sad when my pet golem couldn't follow me to the surface. I was the one who gave it life dammit
  22. Portable nuclear reactors have to start somewhere. Maybe one will fit in my garage some day One of our clients builds container sized desalination plants. Easy to transport and you can add as many as needed. Maybe that is the future of power plants?
  23. Drop depth charges on the taliban? Probably not what you meant, even if they are the lowest of the low.
  24. Thoughts? Impressions? I uninstalled it yesterday, didn't finish. Extremely bland characters, boring story. Lame puzzles (except for one where I had to blow up a rat with dynamite to open a door). Obviously, you need a rat with dynamite stuffing to open doors... maybe I should give it a pass
